Building Blocks Nursery - Great Barr

The staff are always happy and welcoming, we feel incredibly lucky to be having such a great experience!

I can not fault Building Blocks Great Barr for their care of my two boys who attend 3 days per week. Our children have been attending since they were both babies, the staff are always so attentive, informative and understanding of every child's individual needs. We have always been so happy with this nursery and will be incredibly sad when the children move in to school age. The children get so much out of their time here with Phonics sessions in preschool and extra support when needed. I absolutely couldn't fault the nursery and all of the staff for their support. Thank you everyone at Building Blocks Great Barr.

Amazing nursery. My daughter has been attending for two months now, she had struggled to get settled in however every member of staff have helped with her transition and created a warm and welcoming environment. The staff provide updates throughout the day and really helped to put my mind at ease. My daughter loves nursery whilst she is there and enjoys all of the different activities and games she plays throughout the day. She has made friends and also some great relationships with the staff in her room so she feels safe in nursery. The meals provided are great for my daughter and there are always a variety of different things daily and also accommodations for her if she has struggled with a meal. Overall I am very happy so far with Building blocks and how they care for my daughter.

Our child joined Building Blocks last month and we are very happy with the decision. The staff clearly care about the children and were keen to build a relationship with our daughter. We were offered additional settle in sessions to ease her into nursery life. She has made a lovely bond with the teachers who are all warm, welcoming and nurturing. It is reassuring that we are provided details of her day via the app where we can see what she's eaten, when she has slept etc. and the nursery also provide observations which are so lovely to read to see what they have done in the day. This is a great nursery to help our little one build her confidence, social skills and prepare for school.

Our little boy started Building Blocks in September and although he got upset at drop off he would still hold his arms out for the staff, I love the updates and knowing what he's been up to and how he's eaten and slept. I love seeing that's been outside or playing with toys, I love the activities you all do with the children. He enjoys going there and is getting more confident each time. He's learning new things too. So glad we chose building blocks, the staff are so warm and welcoming and put your mind at ease straight away. Also seeing how they are with the children is heartwarming, I always recommend building blocks now when I'm asked. Thank you all so much.

I can not fault this nursery at all! My eldest son who is 9 now attended there when he was younger and now by second son who is 11 months has also started and the staff are amazing, they always keep you updated and have the best care when it comes to the children. They have so much knowledge and it's easing to see knowing your children are in the best hands. Thank you!

It's an amazing place!!

Forever grateful to the amazing nursery staff who have nurtured my daughter's speech with such love, patience, and care.

We get daily updates via app on what he has eaten, drank, when hes used the toilet & when he has naps. Any accidents (if your child is clumsy like mine!) are also recorded and updated continuously aswell on there. Its so easy to contact the staff via this app too and they get back to you quickly aswell. We also get weekly, monthly & termly updates on how he is progressing with his learning and plenty of photos of what he has been up to!

I know my son feels happy and safe within nursery and we couldn't recommend it enough.

My daughter started this nursery in June after a negative experience at her two previous nurseries. We were quite anxious with this being her 3rd nursery in a year but the staff immediately put us at ease. They didn't pressure her to interact during her settles and gave her, her space if she needed. However she did not need me at all as by her first day she was running into the nursery without so much as a goodbye hug. Both the staff and management are so hands on and have clearly built a lovely bond with the children which is so reassuring to see. My daughter never wants to leave and is always excited to show her big brother what she's played with during the day. The staff always keep me updated of any changes eg. Her not wanting to nap as often, and always check how her mornings/nights have been and if there's any information/Changes they need to know. My daughter's speech and understanding has come on so well, and she is now able to express her needs clearly.

The setting is really nice. All rooms are specific to different age groups. Staff are nice, informative and welcoming. You can tell they love the children. My daughter has developed so much in just 1 year, her language is really coming on. Their policies and strictness on your requests are good and they listen and action any concerns or requirements you may have. One thing I really like is they alternate activities like rhythm time so all children whether full time or part time experience this. I would 100% recommend this nursery and any future children I may have will be signed up!

When looking at the option of our baby going to nursery we couldn't look any further than building blocks. The range of activities on offer for the children to extend their learning in all areas is just great. Our baby took instant connections to all the staff at the nursery and even on her first settle took off crawling without looking back she was that comfortable. The feedback/communication is always great and makes it easier to know what she has got up to during the day. We can't thank building blocks enough for their hard work with our little one and making her feel at home.

Amazing nursery for our little girl! She started there when she was 9 months old, and I am a very anxious mom so was so worried about this with how little she was but she has settled in so good and always has good days when she attends. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff as she is a very picky eater but they manage to get her to eat all or nearly all of her food. The manager always greets us with a smile and an upbeat tone every morning she attends which is such a nice start to the day for both her and myself. Since starting she has come on loads with encouragement and being around the other children, and she now crawls beautifully which I was worried that she was behind with doing. I can't wait to see how she continues to just grow and grow there as she gets older. Such a wonderful place! Would highly highly recommend to others, especially others like myself that are so worried about this massive transition.

All my children have absolutely loved going to nursery. My middle son has had some issues with his speech and choking on food and the staff have really helped him along with his speech. He was under speech therapy and the nursery worked with my son and really improved his speech dramatically with different tongue exercises and different games and books to help him improve. I was also very concerned about his choking but they have made sure at meal times a senior member of staff sat with him and encouraged him to chew more. And when he did have a choking episode someone was always right next to him to help him. The staff have been very supportive and understanding of everything with all three children and as well as the parents. I am so glad we chose to move our eldest to building blocks. The best thing I have ever done the children are so happy. They love going to nursery. Now my 4 year old still wants to go to nursery to say hi to all the staff when I pick up the youngest two.

We honestly wouldn't want him to go anywhere else. Building Blocks has created such a nurturing and happy environment, and we are so grateful for everything they do. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a nursery that truly cares!

Great nursery who go above and beyond for our little girl. Shes coming on leaps and bounds with the support and teachings she has within the tweenies group. Can't fault the staff at all. We are so glad we chose this nursery.

A special mention to the manager, key worker and two members of staff, in particular! They really have been all second moms to my children ! Both of my children are forward and a big part on that is due to all the wonderful staff at building blocks!

My son has been going to Building blocks since August 2024 and I haven't got a bad word to say. He has come on so much in all areas, he is happy and excited to go nursery. He has build amazing relationships with all the stuff and comes home talking about how much fun he has had at nursery. All staff at Building blocks are lovely and welcoming. I'm so glad I choose building blocks greatbarr and will be sending my new baby in September too.
