About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

My children began going to Little Elms in Shirley in April 2018. They have grown to love their time there with such warm and friendly staff! The facilities are great and the learning book app is an excellent way to see what the kids are up to. My Son is in the toddler 'Robins' room and always talks about the staff there, they're lovely. My Daughter is in the baby 'Bluebirds' room and is also well looked after, though they have had quite a few members of staff leave the baby room, but do their best. Care and reports a little bit inconsistent but they are great! The front desk/managers are also lovely6. The kids have a variety of activities and lovely garden. Good could vary a bit more but that's being a bit picky!

All the staff are friendly and competent and experienced. Communication is sometimes not as good as it should be as new management not always introduced or absences explained.
My son started nursery when he was 10 Months old. He's now just turned 1 yrs old and he's developed so much since attending nursery 4 days a week. They have a brilliant learning journal online, where parents get to see what there child does each day they attend nursery and its linked to the EYFS so...
All the staff are brilliant, very caring and supportive of a big step in my sons life and my life of me leaving my son in there care. My son is more than happy in this nursery as I see it by he's expression when we arrive at nursery and he sees the familiar staff faces, he is very happy to leave me and be with the nursery staff that instantly reassures me that my son is in safe hands. The facilities in this nursery are brilliant, very clean and tidy and everyday there are different activities for the children to engage in and enjoy. I would highly recommend Little Elms Shirley to any prospectus parents.
Although our son is only at the nursery one day a week, he is clearly very happy there. He gets lots of individual attention and is clearly highly thought of by the staff looking after him. He is developing nicely and staff can always answer my questions regarding any behaviours and expectations...

He is developing nicely and staff can always answer my questions regarding any behaviours and expectations for his age. Each day he is there we receive an information sheet notifying us of his day, we find this very useful.

My son attends 5 full days since he started and I have seen nothing but growth in him staff are amazing and treat each child as if he or she were their own and ensure each child is treated equally but always different depending on each child's different need. Management are great very effective in answering questions and dealing with issues. Parents are always up to date with news and events and the events are always great rain or shine. Staff are warm and welcoming at all times. My son is now in the 2 to 3 year old room where he had amazing support in toilet training thanks to his key worker and knows all the phonics and actions to jolly phonic it is an amazing feeling when practitioners want the best for your child and ensure they fulfill wishes and work in parent partnership. I would recommend this nursery to anyone and just watch your child develop and know they are in safe hands at all times. Thank you to all staff at Shirley branch you are amazing for support you have given my son.
My daughter is 16 months old and loves going to nursery 2 days a week, she gets really excited now when I get her out the car and take her up to the baby room, she literally runs off into the staffs arms... an excellent testament and reassuring for me that she is going to have a great day.

They seem very caring and compassionate and made me feel very much at ease when leaving my son for his first sessions. I've seen how they manage potential challenges and communicate effectively with my child to achieve desired outcomes (for example, stratigically managing the removal of his hat and coat etc when he was initially very distressed). Staff seem attententive and understanding of the needs of children.
My son has settled very well and seems to be building friendships.
The nursery always seems clean and welcoming and I am reassured by the daily handovers. The activities seem sufficient and enjoyable and the children seem to enjoy it.
I am impressed with the room manager (of 2-3 year olds), who gives me confidence in leaving my child
Staff are always so helpful, since my son started this nursery his speech has developed so much. Also he is enjoying different activities, everyday comes back home so happily and satisfied which I really appreciate.

Thank you for your review Megumi!
As a parent and a member of staff I can see on a daily basis how well my daughter has settled in. I have also noticed since attending Little Elms her ability to feed herself has improved dramatically. She doesn't want to go home at the end of the day and has great bonds with all of the staff.
