Jubilee Gems is a term-time nursery and is owned by the operators Jubilee Day Nursery and located in the beautiful Berkshire countryside between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

The nursery offers an exciting range of learning opportunities for children aged between two and five years and has age and stage appropriate facilities both indoors and out, including messy and sensory areas and outdoor balance beams.

A large garden, farmland and private woodland allow children to explore, learn and grow in a safe and stimulating environment.

Healthy and nutritious meals are prepared on a daily basis and are produced from fresh, local produce.

Qualified, experienced and professional staff ensure they provide rich learning opportunities for their key children, whilst providing high-quality care.

Jubilee Gems are able to offer free Government funded places for eligible two year olds and transport if required, as well as free entitlement for three and four year olds.

"Excellent. Wonderful. Amazing" advised a random parent in the car park, when I nervously asked on my first visit, what's it really like? So we decided to travel from Reading, and my son (who hadn't settled at three nearby settings) was very happy there for the last year and a half until he started
school three weeks ago. The staff are - to a man/woman - always ready with a greeting, hug, wave, chat, plan, theme, exciting idea, different toy set up, outside adventure, learning challenge, photo for the parents, celebration poem, bucket of slime-and-dinosaurs, etc. etc. etc. They constantly had ideas upon ideas, not just shaving foam but foam with colours and scents and cars and conkers and bare feet, not just baking but taking turns flipping pancakes in a pan over a tiny real fire on the field. What a place to have fun and be properly taken care of. Thank you so much to the team.

Gems provide a structured, broad and stimulating learning environment. All children develop their potential and are nurtured with respect and love. The staff display care, compassion and understanding of each child. It is obvious when entering the nursery that the vast activities available immediately
engage enthusiasm and a desire for learning. The buzz of busy children is apparent and everyone is welcomed with a smile. This aspect is so comforting for parents and carers who immediately feel that the children are left in a happy and secure environment. Since starting in Gems my grandson has made so much progress. His language development has surpassed all expectations and the staff have ensured that he is able to express his particular interest and encouraged what he enjoys. The manager has displayed excellent leadership qualities to guide and motivate all Staff. You have touched the life of him and his family and in years to come, they will reflect with happiness on the time he has spent with you.

My daughter attended Gems from when she was 13 months right up until she finished last week, ready to go off to school. I can’t thank all the staff at Gems enough for their kind and nurturing ways. My daughter has had so much fun and is now very ready for school (despite wanting to stay at Gems as she
loves it so much). Everything runs very smoothly and all staff are very approachable, helpful and flexible. The regular photos and updates provided are great too as it’s lovely to know what your child has been doing each day, including what they have eaten. The outside space is amazing and the toys/activities and learning zones inside are also fantastic. Lots of different, fun and messy things going on every day. I honestly couldn’t fault anything about Gems and would have no hesitation in highly recommending it to everybody.

An absolutely fabulous nursery. The manager and her team are exceptional, they treat each child as an individual and help bring them on in leaps and bounds. I cannot speak highly enough of how they care and develop the children in an environment that is stimulating, fun, educational and safe. Every
day there are different activities and a testament to how happy the children are there, my child even wants to go at the weekend. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Jubilee Gems is a wonderful nursery, other people will comment on the stimulating environment, fantastic outside resources and extracurricular engagement which are second to none (from experience), this is all true but to us the real reason why Gems deserves high praise is the staff. The manager is
wonderful, professional, caring, and skilled. She gets the best out of her staff, and the best for the children. Our daughter has some complex SEND, when starting Gems at 3 was largely non-verbal, mostly using Makaton. Staff were trained and got to understand her needs quickly; they engaged external services when needed, and sought additional funding for her support. They supported us through the process of applying for additional support for school and are now preparing her for transition. We couldn't have found a better setting for our little girl. Sending her to Gems has been one of the best decisions we have made. We are very sad to be saying goodbye - thank you all at Gems!

Absolutely love this nursery, when you have that daily ‘Mum guilt’ about going off to work it’s outweighed knowing how cared for they are at Jubilee and how much fun they are having. My little boy has thrived there and they have him more then ready to start school in September. I’ll be so sad when it’s
his time to leave. My daughter who is now 8 has so many wonderful memories of her time there too.

Our daughter loves nursery. She is so happy there, challenged and loved. The staff are creative, caring and go above and beyond on a daily basis.
The outdoor experiences are a particular strength, I love that our daughter gets to go out and explore and play in a way we wouldn’t at home. It’s instilled
a real love of being outdoors in her, which is brilliant.
I recommend it to anyone I can. I am so so pleased my daughter is there.

Jubilee Gems has a really good staff to child ratio, the syllabus is well structured. There are lots of outdoor activities for the children to participate in, within a lovely countryside setting - including petting animals.
The staff are passionate about what they do and provide all children with
the care and support required to assist with the development of your child.
Only area for development would be the appearance of the buildings at Jubilee Gems but this does not affect the care provided to the children and is a more cost-effective alternative to another nursery.

Our son is in Emeralds at Jubilee Gems and he’s thriving. The staff in the room are knowledgable, kind and fun, they go all out for their themes (space was epic) and appear to enjoy working with their children. We have used Jubilee Day and Jubilee Gems and loved both but Gems works best for us as the
hours are flexible and the rooms are smaller. We highly recommend this setting if you’re after a gentle, kind, fun setting!

My daughter has been at Jubilee Gems for a year and a term now and absolutely loves it. All of the staff are so friendly and have built up relationships with my daughter. She has moved rooms once and had a great experience in both, she is already looking forward to moving up to preschool there. The
outdoor facilities are brilliant and she thoroughly enjoys all of the trips and visits they do. I like that the children do lots of outdoor play all year round. My daughter has dietary requirements and Jubilee Gems have accommodated that really well. We get regular communication and lots of photos through the app which I love to see, as well as updates in terms of my daughter's, progress towards her targets. Overall, I am so pleased I chose to send her to Jubilee Gems and she has thrived since she’s joined!

My daughter and son loved every minute. They always came home with lots of activities completed throughout the day. The children are allowed to air their imagination through play and learning. Jubilee Gems have excellent qualified teachers to help give them a head start for school. My son who also attended

We joined the nursery when my child was only 9 months old (April 2016) and we were welcomed from the moment we arrived to have our first look around. The nursery hadn't been open to my little girl's age group for long, but when walking around you could see that a lot of hard work had gone into providing
for their age group. She has been and is very happy at Gems and the staff are so friendly, caring and helpful! We would highly recommend this little rural nursery to anyone who values the outdoor exposure and caring environment these little munchkins need.

Having only ever worked within the Early Years Sector, I have many years of experience working with children and see my vocation as a real privilege. My 20-year career at Jubilee has seen me progress from a nursery nurse to the position I am proud to hold today.


I am proud to lead a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of early-year practitioners who provide high-quality teaching and deliver a vast range of learning experiences. I have a passion for guiding and training the team to achieve great things for all the children in our care.


Over the years, I have had inspiration from many different learning approaches which have been embedded into our Early Years Curriculum, recently achieving an ‘Outstanding’ result from our latest Ofsted inspection at one of our Jubilee sites!


I feel honoured that parents give Jubilee Daycare the opportunity to care for their children and as a team, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional learning opportunities and unique Early Years experiences.

Paula has been a part of Jubilee for many years working across the different age ranges and across both sites.


She has always held a passion for being outdoors and creating ambitious learning opportunities through her forest school sessions. Paula is our Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader, and she carefully follows the unique and carefully created forest school aspect of our Jubilee Gems Curriculum, making this a strong element of our preschool practice. Despite the British weather, Paula embraces the woods daily where she develops the children’s resiliency, independence and problem-solving whilst also developing the children’s knowledge of woodland growth, flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. In addition to this the children also develop and use the skills to whittle sticks, den build and toast marshmallows on the campfire. Paula works with the rest of the team to ensure a consistent approach to the children being forest school-ready.

I have worked at Jubilee Gems for over 10 years and in this time, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge across all age ranges, including our out-of-school care, Jubilee Jets. My love of the variety that working with older children brings means that every day is different and unique. As the Jubilee Jets Leader, I ensure a wide range of activities are offered to the children and these include making pizzas and toasting marshmallows at our dedicated woodlands, having our Jets Bake Off and our much loved ‘Jets Got Talent.’ My team and I ensure there is a balance of creativity, imagination and exploration whilst encouraging socialisation. Watching friendships form over the holidays is the highlight of leading Jubilee Jets.
