Jubilee Gems is a term-time nursery and is owned by the operators Jubilee Day Nursery and located in the beautiful Berkshire countryside between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

The nursery offers an exciting range of learning opportunities for children aged between two and five years and has age and stage appropriate facilities both indoors and out, including messy and sensory areas and outdoor balance beams.

A large garden, farmland and private woodland allow children to explore, learn and grow in a safe and stimulating environment.

Healthy and nutritious meals are prepared on a daily basis and are produced from fresh, local produce.

Qualified, experienced and professional staff ensure they provide rich learning opportunities for their key children, whilst providing high-quality care.

Jubilee Gems are able to offer free Government funded places for eligible two year olds and transport if required, as well as free entitlement for three and four year olds.

Our twins have attended Jubilee Gems for the past 2 years. We feel extremely lucky to have found a nursery for our girls where they treat us all like family. They are incredibly supportive and have helped our girls to flourish and grow. The highlight of the nursery is certainly the outside space and
the access to the woodland areas. We highly recommend this nursery.

We have sent all our children to Jubilee Gems, totalling 6.5 years there (and counting) and to say we love this nursery and its staff would be an understatement.
Choosing a setting for your children is never an easy task, but it did not take us long to realise we had found exactly what we were looking
for and more. The nursery is staffed by a wonderful team who truly has the children’s best interests at heart. It has never been hard to leave our children at the door because we know they are as loved there as they are at home. We wholeheartedly recommend Jubilee Gems.

Both of our boys went to Jubilee Gems, and we could not be happier with the care and education they received there. The manager and the team are brilliant, caring and supportive. There was never a day the boys did not want to go in and always had a smile when we picked them up. So sad our youngest is
finishing this year to start school as we will miss the team there.

Such a wonderful educational setting! The staff are lovely, very friendly, helpful and polite, and the communication is great. My two children (2 years old and 4 years old) moved to Jubilee Gems six months ago due to relocation to the area.
They are both so happy and are thriving at Jubilee Gems.
The daily feedback is excellent, and we have a good idea of what they have done during the day. Staff are friendly and have a
genuine interest in the children.
The outdoor space and access to the farm is what sets Gems above the rest - both of my children love being outside, and this is a focus here. The indoor space is equally suited to the children, and they love the different areas and ever-changing activities.
We would absolutely recommend Gems to anyone.

I couldn't ask for a better nursey to send my child to; we both love it. All the team are very friendly and take pride in their jobs. It also has a very large garden area, and the surroundings are beautiful, which they make the most of by including trips to the woods and visiting the local farm animals
almost every day. The team are constantly coming up with fun ideas to get the kids learning and keep them active. They are also great at keeping the parents up to date on your child's daily nutritional meals they have eaten throughout the day and activities they have taken part in. Would recommend this nursey to whoever is looking.

Jubilee Gem have the most amazing team! This is the best place to learn and discover the surrounding world for our kids! We still cannot believe how important their role is in our kid's life. As parents, we hoped to find a place where they can easily fit in and get the same love and care that they got
from us at home. Not to mention that as a multi-lingual family we focused on teaching them our language over English, as English will be so dominant in their life, they most likely forget their parent's origin. For our boys, this was a huge challenge, with very minimal English and with very advanced Hungarian. The team at Jubilee went over and beyond to make sure they don't feel this pressure! Signs, translation and all sorts of tricks! The boys are now almost as confident in English as in Hungarian! Our boys call them best friends! We hear stories all day about how and what they did that day, and they love it!

Both my children have attended Jubilee Gems. My son moving to this nursery from a different one in the area. He settled in straight away, and both my children have thrived there. It is so obvious that the staff are brilliantly trained but also, that they really invested in the children in their care.
The outside space is first-rate, and the variety of activities is amazing, mud kitchens, an allotment for the children to learn to grow their own veg, endless tuff tray activities and trips to the woods. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I cannot fault this nursery at all. My son is thoroughly enjoying his time at Jubilee Gems. The staff are all lovely; they have brilliant activities each day, walks to the woods and farm. I couldn’t recommend them more. He will be sad to leave to start big school in September.

My daughter has been attending Gems for over a year now, and she has loved every minute. I chose a nursery slightly further from home because of the amazing outdoor spaces! They have a huge garden with lots of play equipment, and my daughter often talks about their frequent trips to the woods nearby
and the massive climbing frame there, but her favourite is the water play in the summer. All of the teachers and management are fantastic, and I can't recommend them enough. My daughter is always happy when I pick her up and doesn't want to leave her teachers and friends! Thanks, Gems!

We came over from another country, and Jubilee nursery gave us a lovely welcoming. The staff is amazing. Always with a happy face and very friendly. I love the nursery. The nursery has been absolutely amazing in helping us as a family apply for an Educational Health Care Plan whilst still ensuring my child has had a great time. They have been so very accommodating of his needs and requirements, never showing any outward annoyance or upset towards home when he is having
a hard day. They have amazing rooms, space and practitioners. All the staff are friendly and willing to help. I wish they were a school as well as I just don't want my child to go anywhere else. He loves it so much, and they clearly love him as well. We will be so very sad to leave.

Jubilee Gems is a truly wonderful place! The care and love my child has received at Jubilee Gems since starting in 2020 have been amazing, and she enjoys every single day she spends there.
Having a child with additional needs, I have been so grateful for the way her nursery adults have been inclusive,
encouraging and determined for her to achieve her best, and have gone above and beyond to ensure that she will have all the help she needs to transition to school. Communication is great, in person and through the app and flexible holiday time booking works perfectly, meaning we only pay for the sessions we need.
The staff know the children so well and form meaningful relationships with them. The children are offered such exciting and varied play, with time outdoors in the woods and with the farm animals. Everything has such a strong learning base, and the children end up independent and confident, ready for school. Couldn’t ask for more!

Both our children have now attended Jubilee Gems over the last few years. We've always been extremely happy with the standard of care and education that they provide. Our girls loved going and were both sad to move on.
The Nursery is well run and has a lot of facilities including a huge outdoor space
for the kids to use. Additionally, the private wood and access to animals give Gems and amazing advantage over other places we considered. Staff were always professional and friendly to kids and parents. The winter wonderland party was always a special treat each year too. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

I have had 2 children attending the nursery over the last 8 years, I do not have a single complaint. The whole atmosphere of the place is a positive one which is built by the professional and friendly staff, both my children have loved their time at the nursery and I believe set them on the right path
for school. It is a very outdoor-based environment which I have always loved as have the children. I highly recommend Jubilee Gems Nursery.

We love Jubilee Gems. Our little girl has been going there for the past three years and we are so happy with the way she has thrived under their supervision that we have started her sibling on the same journey. Each child is treated as an individual and the care and attention they receive is outstanding.
The nursery has a lot of outdoor activities and a lot of messy time, along with a lot of structured play which seems to be the perfect balance.
We also love the photos and daily updates; it’s nice to see the fun!

Having only ever worked within the Early Years Sector, I have many years of experience working with children and see my vocation as a real privilege. My 20-year career at Jubilee has seen me progress from a nursery nurse to the position I am proud to hold today.


I am proud to lead a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of early-year practitioners who provide high-quality teaching and deliver a vast range of learning experiences. I have a passion for guiding and training the team to achieve great things for all the children in our care.


Over the years, I have had inspiration from many different learning approaches which have been embedded into our Early Years Curriculum, recently achieving an ‘Outstanding’ result from our latest Ofsted inspection at one of our Jubilee sites!


I feel honoured that parents give Jubilee Daycare the opportunity to care for their children and as a team, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional learning opportunities and unique Early Years experiences.

Paula Vickers

Paula has been a part of Jubilee for many years working across the different age ranges and across both sites.


She has always held a passion for being outdoors and creating ambitious learning opportunities through her forest school sessions. Paula is our Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader, and she carefully follows the unique and carefully created forest school aspect of our Jubilee Gems Curriculum, making this a strong element of our preschool practice. Despite the British weather, Paula embraces the woods daily where she develops the children’s resiliency, independence and problem-solving whilst also developing the children’s knowledge of woodland growth, flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. In addition to this the children also develop and use the skills to whittle sticks, den build and toast marshmallows on the campfire. Paula works with the rest of the team to ensure a consistent approach to the children being forest school-ready.

I have worked at Jubilee Gems for over 10 years and in this time, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge across all age ranges, including our out-of-school care, Jubilee Jets. My love of the variety that working with older children brings means that every day is different and unique. As the Jubilee Jets Leader, I ensure a wide range of activities are offered to the children and these include making pizzas and toasting marshmallows at our dedicated woodlands, having our Jets Bake Off and our much loved ‘Jets Got Talent.’ My team and I ensure there is a balance of creativity, imagination and exploration whilst encouraging socialisation. Watching friendships form over the holidays is the highlight of leading Jubilee Jets.
