Jubilee Gems is a term-time nursery and is owned by the operators Jubilee Day Nursery and located in the beautiful Berkshire countryside between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

The nursery offers an exciting range of learning opportunities for children aged between two and five years and has age and stage appropriate facilities both indoors and out, including messy and sensory areas and outdoor balance beams.

A large garden, farmland and private woodland allow children to explore, learn and grow in a safe and stimulating environment.

Healthy and nutritious meals are prepared on a daily basis and are produced from fresh, local produce.

Qualified, experienced and professional staff ensure they provide rich learning opportunities for their key children, whilst providing high-quality care.

Jubilee Gems are able to offer free Government funded places for eligible two year olds and transport if required, as well as free entitlement for three and four year olds.

This nursery is the best nursery in the area. All the girls are just so lovely, friendly, and so attentive all the time. My son is 17 months and started at 12 months. Lots of lovely outdoor areas and toys for them to explore. The food is healthy and delicious. My son usually eats most things. It’s just
so easy dropping and collecting when you’re a busy working mum knowing they are going to have a fun day without you. The app is so handy too for information and contacting staff.

We cannot recommend this nursery and every single member of the staff, who are just incredible. Our son has come on leaps and bounds and is achieving things we never dreamt of.
We actually have just to cut a UK holiday slightly short as he was missing his room, practitioners and friends in Emeralds
so much (despite being thoroughly spoilt with the best treat days out!).
The facilities and outdoor space are fantastic, and we couldn’t want for more.
Thank you for sharing, supporting and nurturing our wonderful son.

My daughter was due to start prior to Covid lockdown two, but we had to shield. She has many health conditions and developmental delays. The staff at Jubilee Gems have been so supportive from day one, allowing her to access when she can and supporting her through her development.

We feel so fortunate to have found Jubilee Gems and would recommend it highly. We have two children who have been through Gems, and they have loved it every day. We are so pleased with the care our son receives at Jubilee Gems. The outdoor space is fantastic, and we love the access to the garden, mud kitchen and farm animals. The practitioners know our son so well, giving daily updates and thorough written reports, as well as parents open afternoons. All staff
are friendly, welcoming and understanding. There is no request that has been too much, everything is always met with a smile and willingness to do the best for the children. The menu is varied and there is a focus on healthy eating with lots of fruit and vegetables. Would highly recommend.

We have only been part of the Jubilee Gems family for a couple of months but even in such a short amount of time, we have been seriously impressed with many different aspects of Jubilee Gems. Communication from the staff team is exemplary; from big picture curriculum planning to the smallest day-to-day
details. We feel kept in the loop at all times and confident we know how our daughter is getting on. The care the children receive at Jubilee Gems is outstanding. Learning and activities are very much child-led and it amazes me how many ideas the team have to help the children extend their play and explore more in depth. The resources and provisions made available at Jubilee Gems are of excellent standards and a lot of thought goes into every aspect of every day; from the food that is prepared and eaten to the lengthy sessions the children have outdoors in a variety of environments. We are very happy to be a part of the Jubilee Gems family.

Our twins have attended Jubilee Gems for the past 2 years. We feel extremely lucky to have found a nursery for our girls where they treat us all like family. We have sent all our children to Jubilee Gems, totalling 6.5 years there (and counting) and to say we love this nursery and its staff would be an understatement.
Choosing a setting for your children is never an easy task, but it did not take us long to realise we had found exactly what we were looking
for and more. The nursery is staffed by a wonderful team who truly has the children’s best interests at heart. It has never been hard to leave our children at the door because we know they are as loved there as they are at home. We wholeheartedly recommend Jubilee Gems.

Both of our boys went to Jubilee Gems, and we could not be happier with the care and education they received there. The manager and the team are brilliant, caring and supportive. There was never a day the boys did not want to go in and always had a smile when we picked them up. So sad our youngest is

My two children (2 years old and 4 years old) moved to Jubilee Gems six months ago due to relocation to the area.
They are both so happy and are thriving at Jubilee Gems.
The daily feedback is excellent, and we have a good idea of what they have done during the day. Staff are friendly and have a
genuine interest in the children.
The outdoor space and access to the farm is what sets Gems above the rest - both of my children love being outside, and this is a focus here. The indoor space is equally suited to the children, and they love the different areas and ever-changing activities.
We would absolutely recommend Gems to anyone.

I couldn't ask for a better nursey to send my child to; we both love it. All the team are very friendly and take pride in their jobs. It also has a very large garden area, and the surroundings are beautiful, which they make the most of by including trips to the woods and visiting the local farm animals
almost every day. The team are constantly coming up with fun ideas to get the kids learning and keep them active. They are also great at keeping the parents up to date on your child's daily nutritional meals they have eaten throughout the day and activities they have taken part in. Would recommend this nursey to whoever is looking.

Jubilee Gem have the most amazing team! This is the best place to learn and discover the surrounding world for our kids! We still cannot believe how important their role is in our kid's life. As parents, we hoped to find a place where they can easily fit in and get the same love and care that they got
from us at home. Not to mention that as a multi-lingual family we focused on teaching them our language over English, as English will be so dominant in their life, they most likely forget their parent's origin. For our boys, this was a huge challenge, with very minimal English and with very advanced Hungarian. The team at Jubilee went over and beyond to make sure they don't feel this pressure! Signs, translation and all sorts of tricks! The boys are now almost as confident in English as in Hungarian! Our boys call them best friends! We hear stories all day about how and what they did that day, and they love it!

Both my children have attended Jubilee Gems. My son moving to this nursery from a different one in the area. He settled in straight away, and both my children have thrived there. It is so obvious that the staff are brilliantly trained but also, that they really invested in the children in their care.
The outside space is first-rate, and the variety of activities is amazing, mud kitchens, an allotment for the children to learn to grow their own veg, endless tuff tray activities and trips to the woods. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

My daughter has been attending Gems for over a year now, and she has loved every minute. I chose a nursery slightly further from home because of the amazing outdoor spaces! They have a huge garden with lots of play equipment, and my daughter often talks about their frequent trips to the woods nearby
and the massive climbing frame there, but her favourite is the water play in the summer. All of the teachers and management are fantastic, and I can't recommend them enough. My daughter is always happy when I pick her up and doesn't want to leave her teachers and friends! Thanks, Gems!

Having only ever worked within the Early Years Sector, I have many years of experience working with children and see my vocation as a real privilege. My 20-year career at Jubilee has seen me progress from a nursery nurse to the position I am proud to hold today.


I am proud to lead a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of early-year practitioners who provide high-quality teaching and deliver a vast range of learning experiences. I have a passion for guiding and training the team to achieve great things for all the children in our care.


Over the years, I have had inspiration from many different learning approaches which have been embedded into our Early Years Curriculum, recently achieving an ‘Outstanding’ result from our latest Ofsted inspection at one of our Jubilee sites!


I feel honoured that parents give Jubilee Daycare the opportunity to care for their children and as a team, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional learning opportunities and unique Early Years experiences.

Paula has been a part of Jubilee for many years, working across the different age ranges and across both sites.


She has always held a passion for being outdoors and creating ambitious learning opportunities through her forest school sessions. Paula is our Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader, and she carefully follows the unique and carefully created forest school aspect of our Jubilee Gems Curriculum, making this a strong element of our preschool practice. Despite the British weather, Paula embraces the woods daily, where she develops the children’s resiliency, independence and problem-solving whilst also developing the children’s knowledge of woodland growth, flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. In addition to this, the children also develop and use the skills to whittle sticks, build a den, and toast marshmallows on the campfire. Paula works with the rest of the team to ensure a consistent approach to the children being forest school-ready.

I have worked at Jubilee Gems for over 10 years and in this time, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge across all age ranges, including our out-of-school care, Jubilee Jets. My love of the variety that working with older children brings means that every day is different and unique. As the Jubilee Jets Leader, I ensure a wide range of activities are offered to the children and these include making pizzas and toasting marshmallows at our dedicated woodlands, having our Jets Bake Off and our much loved ‘Jets Got Talent.’ My team and I ensure there is a balance of creativity, imagination and exploration whilst encouraging socialisation. Watching friendships form over the holidays is the highlight of leading Jubilee Jets.
