Jubilee Gems is a term-time nursery and is owned by the operators Jubilee Day Nursery and located in the beautiful Berkshire countryside between Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.

The nursery offers an exciting range of learning opportunities for children aged between two and five years and has age and stage appropriate facilities both indoors and out, including messy and sensory areas and outdoor balance beams.

A large garden, farmland and private woodland allow children to explore, learn and grow in a safe and stimulating environment.

Healthy and nutritious meals are prepared on a daily basis and are produced from fresh, local produce.

Qualified, experienced and professional staff ensure they provide rich learning opportunities for their key children, whilst providing high-quality care.

Jubilee Gems are able to offer free Government funded places for eligible two year olds and transport if required, as well as free entitlement for three and four year olds.

My little one has been going to Jubilee Gems for 14 months and the fun he has is always so much. He has always been friendly with most people and nursery just helps this side of his personality shine. They are great for updating you daily as to what the kids have done and will focus on anything specific
you ask them to. There are many Nurseries closer to home but I wouldn’t ever move him as the experience for him wouldn’t be the same. The team are great and I can’t fault them.

The outside space at Jubilee Gems was a real selling point to us when our son started. He’s been through all the different ages rooms and has had some wonderful experiences as a result of the facilities available to them: large woodland, farm animals, massive field, allotments and greenhouse, mud kitchen
area. The pre-school curriculum is well thought out and incorporates art, cooking, science and forest school alongside more traditional pre-school learning. The staff are passionate and knowledgeable about their subjects and encourage curiosity and interest in the children. Staff have been supportive with all the milestones we have been through from weaning to first steps to potty training and have captured all his experiences through detailed recounts and photographs on their app. The nursery provides some wonderful parent events allowing you as a parent to join in and experience the nursery with your child. The flexibility in hours has been a huge bonus and supported our working pattern.

Our 10-month-old son just started at Jubilee Gems Nursery. All the staff have been very supportive in the settling-in period for both our baby and ourselves as new parents. It has been a big change and shift for us as a family and the carers have given us all the TLC that we needed. The app is great
especially in those first few weeks to know what’s happening to your baby in real time and at the end of the day see photos of what the whole group has been up to. Every time we drop off our boy at nursery, we know that he’s going to have a day full of adventures and be looked after by absolute pros. We both look forward to seeing him grow and develop in character with their support.

Jubilee Gems is a new provision for us, but the pastoral care they have shown while transitioning our son into a nursery setting is second to none. Every day we are met with friendly smiles from staff who genuinely care. They take time to communicate with us and ensure we are happy with plans in place
and we feel like they really know and understand him already. This is all not to mention the engaging activities, variety of food options and well-resourced facilities they use with the children every day. We feel very fortunate that our son is under their care and are looking forward to watching his development continue.

Amazing nursery with great staff who go through extra mile. The provision for children to make progress is great, and the site has absolutely superb facilities for walks, outdoor play and exploration whatever the weather, including visiting farm animals daily. They develop independence from a very
young age, but pair this with lovely relationships with the practitioners onsite. Really friendly and excellent nursery.

We love Jubilee Gems. Our youngest son has been attending the nursery since 7 months old and has almost been in all the rooms. Staff in every single room have been amazing. The amount of outdoor fun and messy fun they have is incredible and we love the hygge approach. All I have is praise for the nursery.
Thanks to all the staff for making it such a wonderful place.

Jubilee Gems is an outstanding nursery. We now have 2 children at the nursery and cannot fault it. Both our children absolutely love how much time they get to explore the outside areas (including woods trips!) as well as all the interesting play opportunities they have inside.
As a parent, I have
found all the staff to be wonderful, not just with the children but with their interactions with parents too. It’s such a lovely feeling knowing that our children are cared for so well while we are at work & they are flourishing in their development due to the nursery provisions.

My daughter went to Jubilee Gems and my son is now there. I couldn't be happier with the care and attention my children have received. They have such fun doing so many great activities - inside and outside. My daughter used to really love Forest School in her final year - it provides such great experiences
for the children. The practitioners are all so wonderful! I'm so glad I picked Jubilee Gems.

Jubilee Gems is the most amazing nursery and I am so happy we chose to start my daughter's nursery journey here.
The day-to-day activities are so varied, fun and child-led, my daughter especially loves the messy play activities. We love the emphasis placed on being outdoors whatever the weather, having
fun and getting messy & we love seeing this in the pictures shared with us. The facilities and outside space are second to none and forest school and visits to the farm are a firm favourite!
The staff are so lovely, kind, patient and genuinely caring, they really are all wonderful & I cannot thank them enough for all that they do! My daughter has progressed so much throughout her time at Gems, it’s so lovely to see.
We love Gems and are going to be so sad when we leave in the summer to start school, thank you Gems you really all are amazing and go above and beyond every day, thank you for caring the way that you do!

Wonderful nursery- from the diligence of the staff to their flexibility and understanding, I could not be happier with them.
There are plenty of outdoor activities, creative activities and a host of other things laid on for the children.

Jubilee Gems is a fantastic nursery which our daughter has attended since September 2023. The staff are approachable and caring, showing genuine interest in supporting our daughter to develop and learn new skills. The opportunity to explore the outdoors is fantastic and the space available at the nursery
is like no other. We have been so impressed with all our daughter has achieved in such a short space of time and the opportunities she has been given! I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at this nursery and the outstanding care they provide for my child. This year I had some difficult circumstances to contend with and I have had support and help beyond what should be normal duties. Their flexibility and genuine concern and care of me as well
as my child is praiseworthy and kept me going. Outstanding environment for children.

From the moment he started, it was evident that this was the perfect environment for him. The ease with which he settled in and the friendships he has formed are a testament to the nurturing and welcoming atmosphere provided by the nursery.
One of the standout features of this nursery is the diverse
range of activities offered daily. From indoor play to exciting outdoor adventures, including regular visits to woods and the local farm, my son has been consistently engaged and excited about his daily experiences.
I appreciate the effort the staff puts into keeping parents informed. The daily updates detailing the activities and meals are not only informative but also reassuring. It's heartwarming to hear my son enthusiastically share all the things he has learned during the day at home time.
I also appreciate the numerous opportunities provided for parents to participate in special events throughout the year, the winter wonderland Christmas fayre in December was a lovely event.

What more do I need to say, my daughter prefers to be at Jubilee than at home with her mum and dad! I wouldn’t send my child anywhere else. She loves the practitioners and is genuinely excited to go in in the mornings! The woodlands and activities are excellent. We all love the fact she gets to spend
so much time in the fresh air.

Our son has attended Jubilee Gems for the last 2 years moving up through the classes, there are so many positives to highlight.
1. The outdoors culture is superb, the large garden, access to woods and farm.
2. The practitioners have all been incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, always giving a verbal
handover and obviously building strong bonds.
3. The daily reports and photos give great insight and inclusion into our son's development at nursery. 4. Jubilee creates a great community inclusive of the parents hosting events and always making us feel welcome on site.
5. The experienced practitioners have been a really useful source of parental advice.
Love this nursery and have no criticism.

We have been absolutely delighted with Jubilee Gems from the moment our little boy started. He was only 8 months old when he began in Tiny Twinkles and he settled brilliantly, which was a credit to the staff within the room. Right from the moment we toured the nursery with the manager, we had the right
feeling for our little one to attend Jubilee. From the amazing photos we receive every time to all of the extra activities and time put into everything at the nursery, we are so grateful to each and every staff member. Our little boy has thrived since starting and we are pleased.

We have had a great experience with Jubilee Gems. Our two younger children currently attend and our eldest was also there from 9 months until he started school. The staff genuinely care for the children and delight in sharing their progress with parents. They are quick to respond and have great flexibility
with bookings during the school holidays. The children have great opportunities to get outside in every weather and explore the farm and the woods, which they love. They also love the food! The practitioners put a lot of effort into the learning environments for the children and activities every day. We also appreciate the events that are run throughout the year, particularly the Winter Wonderland.
It is pricey, especially with two children attending, but we feel it is worthwhile because of the quality of care.

Our daughter loves attending Jubilee Gems Nursery. She is a very outdoorsy child and that is something we find so special about Jubilee Gems. The staff all know my child really well and it is clear to see the close and trusting relationships she has built with her key workers. The nursery staff work
with us and always do their absolute best to support my child. Jubilee plan lots of days throughout the year for parents to interact with nursery staff and other families. These are always really enjoyable and it really sets Jubilee Gems apart.

Having only ever worked within the Early Years Sector, I have many years of experience working with children and see my vocation as a real privilege. My 20-year career at Jubilee has seen me progress from a nursery nurse to the position I am proud to hold today.


I am proud to lead a highly skilled and enthusiastic team of early-year practitioners who provide high-quality teaching and deliver a vast range of learning experiences. I have a passion for guiding and training the team to achieve great things for all the children in our care.


Over the years, I have had inspiration from many different learning approaches which have been embedded into our Early Years Curriculum, recently achieving an ‘Outstanding’ result from our latest Ofsted inspection at one of our Jubilee sites!


I feel honoured that parents give Jubilee Daycare the opportunity to care for their children and as a team, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional learning opportunities and unique Early Years experiences.

Paula Vickers

Paula has been a part of Jubilee for many years working across the different age ranges and across both sites.


She has always held a passion for being outdoors and creating ambitious learning opportunities through her forest school sessions. Paula is our Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader, and she carefully follows the unique and carefully created forest school aspect of our Jubilee Gems Curriculum, making this a strong element of our preschool practice. Despite the British weather, Paula embraces the woods daily where she develops the children’s resiliency, independence and problem-solving whilst also developing the children’s knowledge of woodland growth, flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. In addition to this the children also develop and use the skills to whittle sticks, den build and toast marshmallows on the campfire. Paula works with the rest of the team to ensure a consistent approach to the children being forest school-ready.

I have worked at Jubilee Gems for over 10 years and in this time, I have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge across all age ranges, including our out-of-school care, Jubilee Jets. My love of the variety that working with older children brings means that every day is different and unique. As the Jubilee Jets Leader, I ensure a wide range of activities are offered to the children and these include making pizzas and toasting marshmallows at our dedicated woodlands, having our Jets Bake Off and our much loved ‘Jets Got Talent.’ My team and I ensure there is a balance of creativity, imagination and exploration whilst encouraging socialisation. Watching friendships form over the holidays is the highlight of leading Jubilee Jets.
