Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school

My daughter joined Ashington 6 months ago after not settling at her first nursery. The team were so loving and caring from day 1 and within 2 weeks she was reaching out for them at the door. The team build trust with us by being open and transparent about my daughter's experience at nursery, super friendly at the door, and getting to know my daughter's likes and dislikes. I feel she is loved by the team. I’d like to make a special mention to the full-time team members in the baby room alongside the head of the toddler room who have helped my daughter to flourish.

My son settled into nursery really well. He’s been going for two months now and looks excited to see two members of the staff each morning. He always seems to have lots of fun and eats lots of food.

My child has been with the Ashington branch for some time now and I cannot rate the room staff highly enough. Two members of staff, in particular, have such a way with my child that is so heartwarming to see. He gets excited to see them and tells me all about them during dinner. The room carers are hard-working, dedicated, caring, and just generally all-round lovely. I would have rated the nursery a 5 (and the Management star rating) but I feel Senior Management and corporate policies let the team down. Newsletters could be improved, funding allocated better (ie to outside facilities and new learning toys as opposed to a better invoicing system), policies reviewed, covid policies more up to date. Also marked down on value for money as the branch is priced around the same as other local providers but doesn't provide the same overall service. Others provide regular updates (daily or weekly as opposed to our monthly updates), more outdoor space, forest adventures and the overall space of some are bigger.

My daughter has been here a couple of years now and absolutely loves it. All the staff are amazing, and the nursery has an excellent learning environment along with a fantastic outdoor area to play and learn.

My son has been attending the nursery since Feb 2021. The staff are all incredible. They are really flexible and have always been able to make any changes I have needed. My son had a really hard time getting used to going to nursery but the staff were so patient with him and he loves going now!

We are so impressed by this nursery. It really is a home from home. My sons love coming here and the care really is outstanding. There is so much thought and detail that goes into all the activities that they do with the children. All of the staff seems so kind, patient and put the children's development first whilst having so much fun! The food is also brilliant (so I am told). Thanks again.

My daughter has been attending this wonderful nursery for over a year and a half and we couldn't feel more secure and confident about the care she is given. Despite the challenging conditions they have been working under our daughter is thriving.

My daughter has been going to Ashington Nursey for nearly two years. I thoroughly recommend it to all, the staff are fantastic and my daughter absolutely loves it there. They have a range of activities for the children and are really accommodating to parents needs, for example as my daughter has an egg allergy they have provided excellent care and kept me reassured throughout.

My son has attended Ashington Children's Nursery for over a year now and he loves going every day. The staff are wonderful, caring and the setting provides a real home from home environment. My son joined during lockdown where a normal ‘settling in’ wasn’t possible but the staff made sure he settled in well and he’s never had a day of not wanting to go! My son has come on in leaps and bounds in all areas and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice to send him to Ashington Children's Nursery.

My youngest daughter has recently started and she has settled in so well, the staff are so friendly and they always have fun activities planned. She always looks forward to her days there, and I am always given a good account of how she has been when I collect her.

All in all, a well run, positive, happy environment where you children will flourish. Highly recommend.

He has made some wonderful friendships with both careers and other children and looks forward to going every week. All the activities put on during the day have helped towards his development.

We have been extremely happy with the nursery. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. My eldest daughter attended from 18 months to school age and loved every room she was in. My youngest is currently in the baby room and is always happy to go in. A great place for children to grow and learn.

My daughter absolutely loves it at nursery, she can’t wait to go. She loves all the staff and talks about them at home. She settled very quickly; the staff were all amazing at helping her settle. She loves the home-cooked meals, and with a dairy allergy, they are so accommodating and she never ever misses out as they always make sure there’s an alternative, which is brilliant. This truly shows the extra mile they go for all the children.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 7-months-old and she loves it here. She is always talking about the team and readily tells me what she has done at nursery every time she comes home. She really bonded with several of the team members in the baby room that she started off in which made leaving her there at such a young age so much easier, knowing that she was in such loving hands. She's now changed rooms now that she's older and dealt with the transition really well with support from the team. She has a nice little group of friends there and it's lovely to have seen them grow up together. Couldn't recommend the nursery enough, nothing is ever too much hassle if you have any concerns or needs.

Our little girl has been attending Ashington Children's Nursery since she was 10-months-old and she never looks back when I drop her off in the morning, she is way too interested in what’s going on inside and keen to go off to play with her friends and the staff. I cannot praise them enough! Everyone is very nice, and they keep us up to date with her progress on a very regular basis (including pictures and updates on an app). Also, big praise to the on-site chef, as she is doing a great job at providing balanced meals to our little one!

My son, now 4, has been going to this nursery since he was about 18 months old and absolutely loves it. We had to change his hours as he didn’t want to come home when picked up early. My daughter who’s now 7 also attended here. All the staff are great but what stood out for me is that the meals are cooked on-site from scratch, so I know my children have been eating healthily whilst at nursery.

My son is just starting at the nursery and so far I am really impressed with the staff. The settling in sessions are going well, the staff are so bubbly and friendly, perfect for making the children settle quicker. I feel confident sending my son there knowing he will be well looked after.

It’s cosy, friendly and the staff always have the same positive, welcoming attitude whether it’s 8 am or 6 pm.

Our daughter loves going to this nursery. She found it very hard to leave home, but the staff here have been great at helping her adjust. She has such fun and always has great stories, and is happy when she comes home. Highly recommend.
