My son started in Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school in September 2023. He settled in very quickly and that is due to the care, love and empathy shown by everyone that works there. The staff have always been amazing with him and I’ve always been given daily updates and pictures of his time in the nursery.
He
enjoys his time there and has learnt so much in the past few months.
I can’t recommend the nursery enough!

My daughter started in September in the baby room and I really cannot recommend Ashington Day Nursery enough, the staff are wonderful and so kind, and my daughter absolutely loves it.
I really feel that she has settled in so well thanks to the lovely staff, they do many activities with her which I
love to see and hear about.

My daughter started in the baby den almost a year ago. I was so impressed with the staff; their patience and reassurance that my little one would be well cared for. I was given a number of settling-in sessions which supported my little one move from my primary care, into nursery some of the week. The
nursery use an app that let's parents know about nappies, food, sleep and general daily activities. It is so lovely to get updates during the day, especially some photos. Communication is very good and I always feel welcome to ask any questions or just share general anxieties. My little one formed a lovely bond with her keyworker, as well as several others in the den. The children all have lovely home-cooked food prepared by the chef. It has been a wonderful experience seeing my baby flourish in the nursery and develop her social skills.

My daughter arrived at Ashington Day Nursery at the start of the year, after her previous setting closed. She initially settled well, but then had a wobble. The staff were so reassuring to her and myself, which really helped her to regain confidence in her new nursery and she soon found her feet and
absolutely loved her time there.
She made lots of friends and loved all the staff. The food prepared by the chef always smelt amazing when I dropped off in the mornings, and my daughter started to try different food she wouldn't normally have given a second look!
She is excited to start school, but speaks often of her time at Nursery and will miss coming in!

My daughter has been attending the nursery since January 2023, we had to move her due to the sudden closure of her previous nursery. I was so worried about her changing to a new setting and we really didn’t need to be worried at all. The whole team were so understanding of the situation and made every
effort to ensure that our daughter settled easily.
Communication at the end of the day is great with a detailed rundown of the day. My daughter is so excited to tell us all about what she did each day. The learning aspects are brilliant, they have taught her so much that we are amazed when she shows us her new skills (such as writing her name and reciting the alphabet.)
The chef is really good, we have been navigating the milk ladder (dairy allergy) and the communication to check on each stage and checking ingredients has been so reassuring for us.
We can’t fault the team at Ashington! Thank you.

I put my daughter into this nursery when she was just 5 months old and ever since the nursery have been fantastic. They’ve supported me and provided advice (as this was my first child) from the moment I dropped my daughter off. I can see real progress in my daughter’s speech and social skills in the
year and a half she has been with the nursery. They helped wean her when she reached the right age and now she’s nearing potty training age, they are involved in how we can keep the home routine alive at nursery. As a parent you can’t ask for much more than care from the staff and an interest in helping your child develop and I cannot speak highly enough of them all. A special shout-out to the staff who have been with my daughter since her first day and who when she comes home she can’t wait to go back and see the next day. Thank you, Ashington Nursery.

Our little boy started at Ashington nursery when he was nearly 2. Before that, he'd been with a wonderful childminder who we loved but she stopped childminding, leaving us with 6 weeks to find alternative childcare. We were apprehensive about transitioning from a childminder to nursery, but we needn't
have worried. Everyone was so helpful from day one, from the admin staff at head office to the nursery staff who showed us around. The building isn't as flashy as some nurseries but the staff are engaged, kind, fun, and really care about the children. They come up with all sorts of inventive activities for the kids to do and they're allowed to get a bit messy and have fun. They're always accommodating and tell you the good and the bad bits of your child's day - I think this is important as I'd rather know if they've had a bit of a tough day rather than the staff gloss over it. Overall I'd highly recommend Ashington.

We are thrilled and impressed with Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-School. My daughter joined the preschool room in January after the sudden closure of her previous nursery. The manager and staff went above and beyond to ensure my daughter settled well. Nothing was too much to ask for. Since then, my daughter
has flourished. The parent app provides regular updates, which are wonderful. The staff show a genuine interest in the children. Recently, they participated in the village festival day, and the children created masterpieces and paraded together around the village. A truly wonderful experience. I must mention the chef, my daughter loves the food he prepares-she has even asked if he can make her dinners at home.
Overall, I highly recommend Ashington Nursery & Pre-School for the outstanding care and attention my daughter has received. The staff are amazing, developing a genuine bond with the children. It's heartwarming to see, and nothing is too much trouble. A heartfelt thank you for everything.

I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. The staff are all so wonderful and great with the kids. My children have become very attached to them, and it’s not hard to see why. The children all have a great amount of learning/play each day, and I love to hear the different things they’ve learned when
they come home.
We, as parents, are kept well informed of daily activities via a handy little app where I am sent pictures of my children throughout the day!
I’ve become quite attached to the nursery myself through seeing how happy my children are there, and I think each and every one of the staff is an absolute credit to the nursery family.

This nursery is the best nursery. My daughter started in 2020, and she has grown so much in her social skills and her speech and language.
The staff are amazing, and my daughter has bonded with all of them.

Super impressed with the nursery! My son joined the preschool room in December after a turbulent closure at his previous nursery. It's always been a struggle getting my son to go to nursery as he struggles with separating from me and usually once he's in, he has a great day, but the change I've seen
in him here at Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school is amazing! Now, he gets excited about going in, runs in, in the morning, hangs up his coat on the peg, and says goodbye! The team have always been so reassuring and I now leave him feeling happy he's going to have the best day! His confidence, vocabulary, and skills have noticeably improved too. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school. My little boy has genuinely flourished here in such a short space of time, moving him to a new preschool was a daunting experience but we have been overwhelmed by how quickly he settled. We have gone from having tears at
the door every morning at his previous childcare to him looking forward to going in every day. All the staff show a genuine interest in him and his interests and the regular updates on the parent app are fantastic. Thank you to the manager and her amazing team!

My son recently started at preschool here after his current nursery closing unexpectedly. He is nearly 3 and I was very anxious about him starting a new preschool - however, my experience has been excellent at Ashington. The manager and her team have gone above and beyond to reassure us as parents and
settle my son so he feels comfortable quickly. Within one day he was so so happy and hasn't stopped talking about his new nursery. They have been wonderful and supported and cared for him so well on his transition in such a short space of time. I am so grateful to them - they are all amazing.

My child has recently left Ashington nursery which progressively went downhill since the beginning of the year.
Frequent changes of staff with lack of interest in the children. Poor feedback about what they'd done or eaten. 4 photos of my child in 2 years, no Christmas decorations, Mother's Day cards,
etc or work brought home. Things that were asked to be worked on weren't such as ensuring my child visited the toilet and writing. Graduation was a last-minute thing that many couldn't make as they had already left or were on holiday. The final day went without any sort of send-off or recognition of it being the last day which was sad for me.
I would have removed my child but they were happy and nearly going to school so didn't want to upset things.

My daughter has been attending Ashington Day Nursery in the baby room since January 2022 and absolutely loves it. The staff are so warm, friendly, and caring that we always feel extremely happy when we leave our daughter for the day and confident that she will have the best day developing her skills.
She in fact loves it so much that she barely looks at us as we drop her off - she wants to be in the room playing as quickly as possible! The food that the on-site chef prepares is varied and healthy. We receive daily updates on what our daughter has eaten during the day and how much, which is great. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with Ashington Day Nursery and we should say a special thank you to our daughter’s key worker who takes such good care of our daughter, giving us detailed updates on her day. Our daughter absolutely adores her and we know she is in very safe hands.

My daughter joined Ashington 6 months ago after not settling at her first nursery. The team were so loving and caring from day 1 and within 2 weeks she was reaching out for them at the door. The team build trust with us by being open and transparent about my daughter's experience at nursery, super friendly
at the door, and getting to know my daughter's likes and dislikes. I feel she is loved by the team. I’d like to make a special mention to the full-time team members in the baby room alongside the head of the toddler room who have helped my daughter to flourish.

My child has been with the Ashington branch for some time now and I cannot rate the room staff highly enough. Two members of staff, in particular, have such a way with my child that is so heartwarming to see. He gets excited to see them and tells me all about them during dinner. The room carers are
hard-working, dedicated, caring, and just generally all-round lovely. I would have rated the nursery a 5 (and the Management star rating) but I feel Senior Management and corporate policies let the team down. Newsletters could be improved, funding allocated better (ie to outside facilities and new learning toys as opposed to a better invoicing system), policies reviewed, covid policies more up to date. Also marked down on value for money as the branch is priced around the same as other local providers but doesn't provide the same overall service. Others provide regular updates (daily or weekly as opposed to our monthly updates), more outdoor space, forest adventures and the overall space of some are bigger.
