Ashington Day Nursery & Pre-school

Brilliant nursery, my little girl always goes in happy and comes away having a lovely fun filled day. All staff are great and always happy to tell you what your child has been up to that day. Food is always great and love that it is all home cooked on the premises.

He has gone from not settling very well to absolutely loving it in a very short space of time so thank you to all.

Communication is good, and he is very happy there.

Great nursery, local with good facilities and lots of outdoor activities in the garden. The kids get some amazing meals from the chef and the new management team are adding their stamp to the nursery. The main strength is the nursery colleagues who work tirelessly to make it an enjoyable experience for the kids with lots of leaning and fun at the same time. They show patience and compassion in abundance. Specially shout out to Grace and Cicely who our son often talks about even after he has moved to the next room and Daisy who did settles for both our kids

The only thing I wish they'd do more is update parents on what our children are doing each week. They have the app but updates are very sparse, currently 2 this year on the child with photos.

The staff seem to really care about the children, and the manager is excellent.

Our daughter is coming to the end of her time at Ashington Nursery and we couldn't have asked for a better setting. She has had the most wonderful 4 years of play, nurture and development from the amazing staff who show such care and attention. Her key workers have always supported her and us through milestones, struggles and achievements, getting to know her so well and as a result we have a confident little girl, ready to start school in September! The nursery offer a lovely range of activities and opportunities both inside and outside in the fantastic garden! She always comes out smiling with a bag full of drawings and crafts she has completed that day! The recent graduation event was so well organised and was such a lovely way to finish her time at the nursery with her friends. We can't thank you enough for the love and care that you show day in, day out. Special shout out to one member of staff who our daughter adores and to another, who has taken the time to develop our daughters love of learning!

My little one absolutely LOVES going to nursery and I have been super impressed with all the staff and the communication we receive every day. Despite still being young, it is clear to see what an impact the nursery has on him and has in developing some of his fundamental skills. I can't thank Ashington nursery enough!

This is such a wonderful nursery. The activities are engaging and blend perfectly for fun and learning. The team are welcoming, encouraging and supportive of my little boys needs and personality. They've helped him settle into the next room and create such a safe and nurturing environment. It's so lovely to see him building friendships and curiosity as he grows.

As our daughter comes to the end of her time at nursery, we can't thank the team at Ashington enough! All the way through they have cared for, nurtured and loved her as we do! The team are amazing! The new management have transformed systems and we love the new garden! Thank you to everyone at the nursery for everything you have done, we look forward to a few more years with our youngest.

After having a rocky experience with a childminder as my son's first experience of outside family care, coming to Ashington Nursery has been such a breath of fresh air. The team in the baby snug have been so caring and patient while my son settles over the last couple of months and he's come on leaps and bounds with them. Barely any tears at drop off and enjoys his time while in their care. Can't recommend the nursery enough. Thank you!

What a lovely nursery! My niece loves going and her development and confidence has come on leaps and bounds with the encouragement of staff members. Communication from the nursery has been fantastic, regular updates are sent to parents. Food is great, she's eaten things that I myself have never tried!

A great nursery, helping with the children's development, social skills increasing since being here, confident interactions with others whether that's sharing toys, being kind to other children, speaking/playing with family and friends.

My Daughter started in September 2024 and was welcomed with such love and care. Her keyworker is amazing with her and mentioned that speech therapy was need for my daughter (something a different nursery failed to help with) which was addressed and dealt with immediately. Communication throughout the day of what the children have been up to, with pictures is so lovely. Every afternoon on pick up we get a run down of her day has been (good or bad). One lady has been working with her to help with pronouncing words and stringing sentences and the difference is amazing! Other ladies are always there with literal open arms which just makes the start of the day so fun! They have a fab manager and you can see how much fun the children have throughout the day! I can't thank all the staff enough for everything they have done for my daughter. Would recommend to all parents who are thinking of putting their child into nursery!

All of the baby snug staff know what our son's interests are and ensure that the activities set out for the day include his interests. They also know his favourite song to play! If his key worker has left for the day, we still get a very detailed rundown of his day from other staff which just shows that the communication between the baby snug team is great and that all staff have a good bond with our son. He is so happy at the end of the day he doesn't want to leave.

My youngest joined here in September 2024 after her old nursery fell apart. No matter her confidence issues the whole team has always given their all to push her to her full potential and show a safe happy place. She has made so many lovely friends! It's like one big family unit. The team are professional yet caring and friendly and goes above and beyond! Thank you ladies you're all great!

The baby room has been extra supportive with our youngest and we receive some great updates and photos throughout the day, where we can see what activities they are up to with their friends. They eat better than us with their onsite chef and often end up eating seconds or even thirds! We are very happy with our experience which is largely due to the amazing caring staff and management team - they are a real asset to the nursery.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 12 months old and is now four. My son, who is 12 months old, has just started here too. What can I say? I love the staff here so much! The manager and the staff have really turned this place around. My son has settled in here so well, and my daughter talks about the staff as being her best friends. She will really miss them when she starts school this year. I’m so pleased I chose this nursery for my children.

We cannot recommend Ashington Day Nursery enough, our daughter loves her time there. The staff are all wonderful, showing such care and love for the children. The new modernizations coming and the update to the garden have made a huge difference to the look and emphasized the family feel. The food is brilliant our daughter regularly talks about how she loves the food and wishes that the cook can cook for her at home. The highlight recently was the wonderful Easter Egg hunt in the beautifully updated garden. Thank you so much to all the staff who go above and beyond to make sure our daughter gets the best experience.
