My son joined Fennies Horley at the start of the year going four days a week. After working from home and being in lockdown for a lot of his life, it was hard to not have him around. However, the manager is so friendly and welcoming and his key person is energetic, helpful and genuinely cares about
his wellbeing. I feel very comfortable taking him to Fennies Horley and his development has already come a long way (e.g. using a spoon to eat with).

Our daughter is now going there 5 days a week, and she just loves it! All the staff enjoy being with her and bringing her development on, helping her to bond with the other children there and generally taking a really keen interest in her. She comes back happy and full of chatting, which is always a
great sign! Thanks to all the staff for everything they have done, especially in these difficult times, you’re all lifesavers!

The whole team at Fennies Horley is great! My son has really thrived since joining and always talks about the fun things he does. He loves going to nursery and always comes out smiling on pick up. You can quite clearly see that the team genuinely care about the children. Special thanks to all the staff.

Our daughter joined Fennies Horley April 2019, having relocated to as a family. The staff go above and beyond with the parents and the children. She was a little shy, to say the least when she started, but we have enjoyed her confidence go from strength to strength. Her learning has excelled thanks
to Fennies, we were totally shocked when she started to count to 10 in Spanish one Sunday afternoon, since then she has also learned basic french too!
She has made some lovely friendships since being a Fennies and talks about her friends and teachers with great affection, we know that Fennies has given her the best start possible to help her settle into her new reception class, confident and caring is our daughter. Thank you Fennies Horley we are going to miss every single one of you. Take care of yourselves, hope to pop by soon for a natter.

My daughter has been going to Fennies Horley since the age of 1 and yesterday was her last day. We couldn’t be more grateful to all of the staff at Fennies they have all been amazing, so supportive, kind, caring and overall just brilliant.
Deciding what nursery my child went to was a very hard decision
and we definitely made the best one choosing Fennies!

The management team of the nursery are great. The two ladies are friendly, professional and extremely helpful, always willing to go above and beyond. The staff in my son's room are all wonderful, they are always smiley and give good details about my son’s day. My son settled very quickly, which I feel
is a testament to the environment of the nursery and the lovely staff. My son’s key person writes detailed progress reviews which are informative and lovely to read. My son has made a great connection with his key person which helps with his confidence in general but especially with his speech and toilet training. We love the activities completed, the range of foods they eat and the good manners reinforced at mealtimes, along with good social skills, yoga and signing. All in all, we are very happy with the nursery and have no doubts or worries about anything. My son looks forward to his nursery days and gets excited about what he might learn that day. so lovely to see!

Choosing Fennies as our son's nursery was the best decision by far. Our son settled in right away, and this was all thanks to the whole team. He absolutely loves it, and the method of teaching has really helped his development. As a family, who has faced some really difficult periods in recent months,
their level of care, not only to our son but to us as parents has been like no other.
As parents, we feel at peace dropping off our son every day, as we know he is in good hands.

Moving to a new area in the middle of the pandemic and knowing our little girl would have to return to a new nursery after the lockdown was quite worrying for us. However to begin with, her transfer from another nursery to Fennies Horley was a very seamless one and that made us very pleased. Settling
her into the Horley branch was literally easy peasy! The management and key persons are amazing. The ladies here have always been so cheerful, kind and thoughtful and that makes it very reassuring for us to know our daughter is in good hands! She is always excited and happy to go to nursery, even one year later! The learning resources and activities are also really great and I always look forward to seeing what has been done every day. We have no complaints so far, thank you all for being so genuinely nice and thoughtful towards our daughter and us. Having had the experience of 2 different nurseries, we can honestly say the Horley Fennies is unmatched! Keep it up!

I didn't have any family support to look after my child on Monday. I sent an email to Fennies on Sunday evening and on Monday morning at 7 am I received a confirmation that I could drop Linda at the nursery. Very brilliant, amazing family support!

Excellent nursery, I have my two little ones here and both are very happy, the team really support the children to overcome any situation they can such as potty training etc.
They also were very supportive during difficult times the past year which I really appreciate, they always send activities for

We are so happy we made the decision for our daughter to attend Fennies Horley.
She has been so supported in settling in which was our biggest worry - we still get tears on drop-offs at times but updates soon after show us she is happily eating her breakfast!
She also naps really well there now
which was a surprise to us as we struggled getting her past 30 minutes in the early days!
She gets excited when we talk about nursery at home and says staff members names.
We have seen her develop in so many different ways since attending and are confident she is getting the best start!

Our son has started going to nursery last month, from the age of 12 months. The first weeks were quite overwhelming, as a year of Covid and very little exposure to others hadn't really prepared him for the big world. The team at Fennies Horley have been absolutely amazing. So sweet, caring, patient
and excited. He now loves going every day and we've seen a huge improvement in his ability to play, stay focused and he's even become more cuddly than ever before. We are so happy that our little boy has such a safe and loving place to go to and we are grateful to the Fennies team for all their dedication. We would highly recommend this nursery!

Our little boy started at Fennies Horley in January 2021 after a house move for us. We were made to feel so welcome from the start with a virtual tour initially and then being welcomed into the nursery so our key worker could get to know us all before our little boy settled properly. They’ve been amazing
with remaining compliant with Covid-19 restrictions and our little boy has seemed so happy since day one. At times when he got sad during drop off, we’d have reassuring phone calls within ten minutes or so to put our mind at ease. We’ve noticed developments in his abilities in certain activities and his speech and communication skills. His key worker shows a keen interest in him as an individual and we’re so happy. Thank you Fennies Horley.

Great management and staff team. Highly recommend. My son is learning new things every day, this is down to the hard work from all staff. The chef also deserves praise for all her hard work and new ideas.

My wife and I had concerns about sending our daughter at an early age, as she was premature and very close to us both but Fennies Horley ticked all the boxes for us and when our daughter started. We can’t praise the team enough for going out of their way to help her settle in. They have helped us develop
our baby into a lovely little girl and she can’t wait to go to nursery for the lovely home cooked nutritionally balanced meals, facilities and wonderful staff she loves to learn from.

My son has been going to Fennies Horley since December last year, having recently moved into the area. He has settled in well and absolutely loves it there, upon joining he was made so welcome by everyone. The staff are all amazing and very caring. I'm always very impressed at all the activities they
do. There is so much creative play and fun, as well as interesting ways to learn and engage the children. They have an excellent garden space which they make full use of. The staff are great at keeping the app updated with all the daily activities and fun photos so I always feel connected. The staff at Fennies Horley have also achieved what I was beginning to feel was impossible and that is getting my extremely fussy son to try and eat new foods. What they have achieved with him so far is amazing. Overall I can't recommend this nursery enough.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.697)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.697) out of 10 for Fennies Horley, Albert Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.328 for Fennies Horley, Albert Road is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 131 Ratings = 4.328
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.369 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fennies Horley, Albert Road is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 96 number of registered child places is 19.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.2 = 0.469
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
