Bright Horizons Clapham Day Nursery and Preschool

The staff at Clapham Village nursery is very caring and professional. I am happy and satisfied about my choice.

After a year of my son being at the nursery, I am generally satisfied with the care and attention that he receives. My main gripe with the nursery is that the staff who look after him seem to alternate to many times, and therefore, you build minimal if any at all rapport with the main caretakers of your child. I feel that the commentary on collecting him in the evenings is also generic in nature and that the detail needed to understand his development, care and challenges that he faces as a toddler, are not tailored at all and that there is not enough focus on "what's next" in terms of pushing the child through their learning milestones. The nursery has excellent facilities, is well maintained and I have always found it to be hygienic. However, as a place of learning and development for my child, I find myself only satisfied that they are doing what I would expect is the norm for the price that we are paying and nothing more.

In my mind there are only two downsides, firstly there is a relatively high turnover of staff, secondly, the Preschool room has to cater to what is effectively 2-year groups, those children just turning 3 and those turning 4. To my mind, this means the older children aren't challenged as much as some of the younger ones and many parents of older children remove them from the nursery to attend a nursery school environment. I believe it would be better to have two groups - one for the 3-year-olds and one for 4 and rising 4-year-olds such that each group can be challenged more effectively and their learning can be tailored more individually to their age group.

The team are not only fantastic with our son but always keen to help us out and make life easier. They also hold events out of normal working hours to bring parents and staff together. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Overall, I'm very happy to recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has been at Clapham Village Nursery since she was 9 months old, she is now 3. This is an excellent nursery that has nurtured her to be sociable, an extrovert, fantastic development and skills. As for the facilities - they are excellent with amazing learning tools. Staff are always friendly and go all out to make the experience less stressful and always there to help. 5-star nursery.

My son went to a previous nursery and he didn't enjoy it. I originally picked Clapham Village Nursery before it was open in 2014 and I'm glad I did! They look after him very well, and he has settled in great. He is more social and implements what he has learnt there at home. The staff are attentive and gives me feedback on his progress. Only negative I would say is the need for more staff in the rooms. Overall the facilities are great, lots of different activities and toys to keep the kids active. When I collect my son he's still content and shows he has had fun. I'm just happy that he is also happy there and I am glad I went back to my first choice.

My daughter has been going to this nursery for over a year. The staff and management are very friendly and easy to approach. The teaching techniques are absolutely amazing. The staff are very dedicated and hardworking. In addition, they keep parents updated as to what or how they are working on improving the child's skill etc

I strongly believe if the nursery get more staff it will add to their strength. Overall I am very happy with my daughter's progress.

The meals cooked on site are good quality and cover an array of food choices.

My review is based upon my experience of my son joining the nursery and starting in the Younger Babies room at 12 months old. From day one, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and caring. The settling in process was well planned with careful consideration given to how both my son and us as his parents would feel leaving him for the first time.

At drop offs and pick ups, I feel confident and able to speak to any of the staff about my son as it is evident they are looking out for all of the children in the room. The nursery is very well equipped with everything the children need to enjoy their day and for the staff to do their job. The children's days are filled with fun activities and healthy meals. I would highly recommend this nursery based on the care my son has received in a clean, bright and healthy environment.
