Partou Little Big Steps Day Nursery & Pre-school in Knowle provides exceptional care and education for children aged 0 - 5.

The nursery has been based in the Park Centre for many years and with its redevelopment they have recently moved in to a spacious, new purpose-built building nestled within its grounds.

The nursery is divided into separate playrooms for different age groups - from the cosy baby room all the way up to the exciting pre-school and children of different age groups have their own outdoor play areas.

Little Big Steps provides a wide variety of fun educational experiences led by qualified teachers and childcare practitioners. The highly-qualified team prepare children for primary school using Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines.

The nursery's educators put a strong emphasis on learning through play and tailor activities to children's individual interests and needs. Staff have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training and all have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Children at the nursery enjoy a varied seasonal menu filled with fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables – which can be altered to suit any special dietary requirements.

Our little one has been attending Little Big Steps for over two years and has loved his time here, his experience of the baby room, toddler room as well as the preschool room has been overwhelmingly positive. All staff members have encouraged him in his learning and development and have been kind and
supportive, particularly through this unsettling time of the covid pandemic, the nursery has remained positive and a constant in his life. We would definitely recommend Little Big Steps, thank you for being so wonderful.

Lovely nursery, our daughter started during lockdown so I haven't been able to see inside too much but have been really reassured by their health and safety procedures. All the carers know her (and us) by name and always give a good summary of her day, they seem to genuinely enjoy seeing her in the
morning and she's definitely happy to see them! Really flexible and supportive with excellent communication - I love seeing pictures/videos of what she's been doing when uploaded to the app.
It looks as though they do a wide range of activities - often involving messy play which she loves and means I don't have to do it at home! Her communication is really coming on with good speech development - she often sounds like her key worker so I can tell they've been practicing!

Excellent nursery, my children are really happy coming here in fact, they don't want to leave. They seem to enjoy the food. They do lots of activities and have a lovely garden area. The staff are compassionate and caring with the kids. Certainly comfortable leaving my children here.

Our little boy is 4 and has been attending Little Big Steps in Knowle since he was 9 months.
We love the team there and most importantly so does our little boy.
He is a bright boy and they really nurture and encourage development. His key workers are fantastic and I always know he's in good, safe
hands.
I couldn't recommend this team and nursery more. We are so sad that it's his last year. We will miss them all.

Just a wonderful nursery, from the moment I went there I knew it was the one and got great positive vibes from my visit! The staff are so friendly and attentive to the children's needs. They give time each day to run through that day and anything that needs feeding back. They always spare extra time
to answer any questions, and do a great job updating Learning Book so we as parents can see real updates, pictures and videos of our boys progress. They always have great activities, my son loves going there every day and could not be happier.

Staff here are incredibly friendly and accommodating. My son has been here for over 2 years and has been so happy throughout that time. He loved the gymnastics sessions in particular and recently has enjoyed learning Makaton which he shares at home.

The nursery is very welcoming and supportive to children. When my child first joined he was very resistant about going in, and all the lovely staff were very calm and friendly towards him. He now runs in happy to be there. He enjoys the food which is given and often asks for seconds or more, which they
are happy to give him. The range of activities is great and seeing pictures on his electronic diary is lovely. The staff always explain what has happened in the day and are open and honest. It feels like a safe and secure place to send my child with lots of safety protocols to keep all children (and staff) safe.

My daughter loves nursery and it has driven her to be very sociable, confident, and has begun her learning with English and Math which is great to see.
In terms of the team they have always been helpful, particularly through the pandemic and always answer or raise questions when needed.

We absolutely love this nursery. The staff are all really lovely. There is loads of outside space which is really important to us. Our 3-year-old is always happy going there. Just before the post COVID return to nursery she told me how she "loves her nursery so much". They did a series of gymnastics
lessons, they seem to do fun things. We just can't recommend this place enough.

My son went to Abbeywood Tots from 11 months old until he left for primary school. He loved it there and all the staff were great at every stage of his development. My other son will be starting in a few months time and I can’t wait to be part of Abbeywood Tots again.

Very friendly staff, significantly larger play areas, exposure to outside elements when suitable...loads of toys..safe parking off the main roads to pick up your child...updates every time I pick my boy up. Highly recommended!!

All the staff at Abbeywood Tots Knowle and friendly and approachable. The nursery nurses responsible for my son’s care are attentive and kind. They are always very enthusiastic about his achievements.

The staff here are all so friendly, My son who is 3 loves coming in everyday even on weekends he say's "we go nursery house?".
My daughter went here when they first opened and I always recommend this place to other parents.

Nursery staff are very friendly and easily approachable. Facilities are great, the only thing is a bigger garden for a 3-year-old group. It's also very convenient that you can drop my child just after 7 am, this has allowed me to extend my working hours and skip morning traffic.

When the changes from paper to online learning journals are made, I think it would change my recommendation from likely to extremely likely.
It would be nice, to be able to settle your child when they are sad at drop off (you are able before 8 am) or to come in and collect from room so you can see
them in the setting but I understand the safeguarding behind this and again when the online journals are active, it will be reassuring to see them once they are settled or engaged.
Staff really get to know the children and at parents evening this is reflected in what they say. When children are unwell they take great care of them and communicate any medicine given.
They celebrate religious events from around the world which I personally love!
As my child loves outside space, I truly value the grounds they have and each room has it's own outdoor space. It will be fantastic when he is old enough to also enjoy forest school that is offered.

My son was initially very unsettled, he had never been left before and was upset by my leaving. All nursery staff were amazing at helping him feel safe. They communicated well with me to reassure both of us we were going to be fine. Only a month on, and my son has grown greatly in confidence and independence,
and very much enjoys his time at nursery.
He enjoys the activities provided and brings home a lot of lovely keepsakes.
When prompted, I get feedback about his day. I feel this is something that could be improved on. All staff are really busy, and at times, I feel they do not always have the time to discuss what my son has been up too during his time with them.
I am very pleased with his nursery and will be happy for him to stay there and progress up through their preschool until he is ready for school.
I have no worries about my son's safety and welfare and feel the nursery has my child's happiness at the centre of its care.
