View Full Details of Partou Little Big Steps Day Nursery & Pre-schoolMy little one is about to graduate from Little Big Steps and has had the most wonderful time here for the last 4 years. There was a very uncertain, scary time back in November 2024 which was tough as a parent and felt nervous about sending them back in, but it was the best decision. The staff were brilliant at settling them back in and even more attentive to the children's needs. I have no doubts in my mind that they are well looked after as they come home every day happy and smiling. I would happily recommend LBS to any one of my friends and I am sure my little ones would say the same. We recently had a graduation party in which they really did pull out all the stops and had the most wonderful morning. I was amazed at the time and effort it must have taken the staff and on a weekend too. Very impressed!
If you are looking for a nursery that will genuinely support, nurture, and engage your child in their early years - look elsewhere! There is a complete absence of understanding or acknowledgement of what my child is capable of. It's as if the nursery is simply a place to contain children rather than help them grow. The so-called "activities" lack variety, planning, or basic imagination. The level of care borders on negligent. Staff turnover is out of control; familiar faces disappear without any word to parents. I spent over a month requesting a parents' evening - just the bare minimum - a simple review using the Birth to Five framework. Not only was this ignored, but neither the meeting nor the documentation ever materialised. This nursery is chaotic, poorly run, and emotionally exhausting for any parent trying to be involved. The lack of structure, consistency, and genuine care is appalling. My child deserves better, every child does - and so do their families.
We have had a wonderful time being shown around. All staff and management have been inviting and kind and made us feel very welcome. They are all extremely approachable and i feel my children would be safe with all individuals in a very comfortable environment through all rooms. Great job Little Big Steps, keep being brilliant!
It's taken me a very long time to sit down and consider writing this review. My primary concern has always been the safety of other children and parents need to hear what I have to say. My at time, 11 month old son, was involved in a safeguarding issue in this nursery. I won't give details, the whole ordeal was awful and heartbreaking from start to finish. As a parent it's your worse nightmare, they failed in their basic duty of care in keeping babies safe. After the incident taking place, I also can't describe the awful treatment and mishandling we received at the hands of Partou. The incident took place in November and to this say we havnt received a refund for the day my child was mistreated in this nursery. His incident wasn't isolated, a number of incidents took place and to this day I don't know the full outcome of the investigation. Please do not send your babies here.
Lovely, caring learning environment for our daughter, she has really thrived at little big steps and loves being there. Especially love the outdoor aspects and trips to the fields etc. Teachers really care about her and know her well. Food is great. If I had to ask for something more, it would be more proactive info, news letters etc. Otherwise all good!
My daughter has been coming to Little Big Steps since she was a year old and has always absolutely loved it! Every room is clean and fully equipped with toys and activities suitable for that age range. The food always sounds really nice and I'm often told my daughter has second and third helpings! The staff are all so lovely and seem to have goo relationships with the children. Would highly recommend Little Big Steps to any parent.
We are happy with the overall nursery service, our kid seemed to enjoy being there and we see a constant progress on him. He is more sociable and also has learn a lot more new words and they been supporting with potty training.
Without this nursery, I would be unable to work - the team enables me to leave my child knowing he is safe and having fun. I think as mums we deal with a lot of guilt with putting our children into childcare, but with little steps, it definitely makes me feel at ease and allows me to focus on work while I'm there. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Little Big Steps has been and continues to be a fantastic nursery for both of our daughters over the past 4 years. They both settled in quickly due to such attentive and caring staff and have always been happy to go there. Staff are friendly and I have always felt comfortable and happy knowing my daughters were in their care. The sensory room and large outdoor play areas are huge assets and it's convenient for dropping off/collecting with the site car park. The new facilities of the nursery give it a great modern feel and it is always clean throughout. Would certainly recommend it.
Little Big Steps provide a fantastic service. My son has a brilliant time at nursery and the staff really consider his interests when setting up activities. It’s great that everything is included in one price too!
Little Big Steps is absolutely brilliant place to start, our son has enjoyed every day of going to nursery despite he is not good at English. Our son was welcomed with open arms, by such a nice and professional staff. The team have been great at helping him settle in, it is great to see staff inform us daily on the collection of what our son did and enjoys/is upset with, also receiving information and pictures of what he is doing each day is great. The most our son enjoy is the outdoor area which is brilliant. We can see he has improved a lot in the last year and we highly recommend Little Big Steps to any of our friends and family.
My son has settled well in nursery after starting buttercup room in January. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. The range of activities and resources they provide are top quality- using open ended resources to promote the children’s imagination and creativity whilst playing. He’s very excited to move to the big room for his last year before starting school next September.
Really happy with Little Big Steps, on the whole, our daughter seems to be really happy which is the most important thing. The staff and facilities are lovely, nice outdoor play area and she seems to enjoy the food. The only criticism would be communication. Would be nice to have more information on how my daughter is getting on and how the staff feel her development is going. We see some photos in the learning book and get some info when we pick her up which is great but would be nice to get more detailed info. Also if any areas of learning are being focused on at any time would be good to know.
This is a fantastic little nursery, they care so much for our little ones. The baby room staff are brilliant, really responsive to the little ones, and the toddler room provides great on site activities. On site sensory room and large outdoor space. They also now have a mini bus so looking forward to seeing our kids go on adventures further afield.
My son enjoys going to nursery at Little Big Steps. The staff are always very good at communicating and were supportive when we had input from Speech and Language therapist. My son especially enjoys the outside space where he can run around and play with other children. There is a good flow between the inside and outside.
My little boy has been going since April 2023, and we haven’t had any issues. The staff inform us every day on collection of what he’s done throughout the day as well as what he’s eaten and drank. The nursery has a good vibe to it and all children seem happy when arriving/leaving.
My girl started nursery more than a year ago and enjoys going to Little Big Steps. She’s excited to go every morning and very happy when she gets back. They do a lot of activities every day: sensory, role play games, singing, arts and crafts and she built her confidence to speak and interact with other children in all environments. Staff is very friendly and very close to children, treating them with care and empathy.
We chose the nursery initially because of the way it felt when we came into the nursery. It was clean, bright, open and we liked the fact that all rooms had easy access to the garden. The staff are welcoming and friendly and my stepson has really settled into his room. We get lots of information about his day and the communication is really good. He eats well and it's actually helping him, because he is quite fussy at home.
We are really pleased with Little Big Steps Nursery and feel happy and confident dropping our daughter off there in the mornings. She took a little while to adjust to nursery life, but the staff have all been great at helping her to feel comfortable. Now nursery is a happy part of her routine and her days seem filled with lots of fun activities.
The team are absolutely amazing. You can so clearly see the care and attention they put into each child - my daughter loves it and they worked so hard to settle her in and it’s really paid off. She loves going to nursery! The activities always seem to be varied and lots get packed into the day which is great. Sometimes communication/ emails seem to get a bit lost but at the same time I can completely appreciate the pressures nurseries are under at the moment, and that caring for the children is obviously the top priority!
