The building is just wonderful, really lovely and clean, but also well thought out - it's designed with children in mind and is very accessible. My daughter has been in the baby room, pre-toddlers and toddlers, which are all beautiful rooms: well set out, well resourced, and perfectly designed for the developmental stages of the children using them. There are great additional resources at the nursery (a sensory room and soft play room), and the parent-cam facility was really reassuring to use when my daughter first started. I don't use it so much now - partly because she can communicate so well and I know how much she loves it there - but I know it's there if I want to access it.
The nursery has great outdoor spaces and the staff seem committed to developing the areas further. They often ask for parental input, which I like - it's good to feel involved and included. And I like the fact that the children go outside rain or shine - I think that's a really important thing.
Communication is excellent and I feel very informed about what's happening at the nursery, what my daughter is doing, what is coming up, and what we can get involved with. There are also lovely activities that run in each room on certain days (football classes, dancing, etc). Add Christmas parties, trips, visits (say from the fire brigade), stay and plays, resource bags, hairdresser visits and all the other services on offer to the mix and you find a wonderful overall provision (for my daughter and for me as a parent).
I feel the nursery is a great learning environment and I have regular meetings with my daughter's key workers; I feel really informed about her development. The staff prepare engaging and stimulating activities (that I would never do with my daughter at home) and I really feel that her day is mapped out and that she's having access to age-appropriate activities that are designed to challenge and stimulate her.
I have to work, but knowing that she is cared for so well, is having fun, and spends her time away from me with staff who care about her has been an absolute blessing for me. The management team are great and really approachable too. It isn't the cheapest setting, but I believe you get what you pay for and I am prepared to pay for the best possible environment for my daughter.
Each parent has to make their own decision and do what's best for their own child - choosing a nursery is so important and it has to feel right. But I cannot recommend Shooting Stars enough - it is certainly right for my little girl.
Every aspect of Shooting Stars is outstanding and I feel 100% at ease with leaving him in their care.
The personal touches that each of their staff bring is fantastic, my son is welcomed and recognised every day by all members of staff that we see. The love, care and attention that they show all of the children is amazing to see...you can tell that the staff are not just "doing their job" and "counting down the hours", they all really engage with the children and they almost feel like an extended family to us.
From the food, to the communication, to the building/décor, to the cleanliness, to their installed standards, to their passion for helping your child through their early years journey...you cannot beat Shooting Stars Hinckley.
I promise anyone reading this review, that you do not need to look at any other nursery (I looked around every one in the area), this really is the only choice if you want to be assured of exceptional care and support for you, as a parent, and your child.
