We have been so pleased with our son's time at Shooting Stars Hinckley. He first joined when he was around 15 months old and has just left to go to school. Mel and her team are fantastic and the nursery always feels like a lovely environment to walk into in the mornings. There were a few times when my son needed some extra 'TLC' after holidays / illness etc. and the staff would always be extra caring, patient and supportive with him. Special mention to Jo H who he has built such a lovely relationship with during his time in the preschool room. The team were always good at offering up a helpful idea or solution if he was ever struggling - like his very own decorated box to bring something in each day, which really helped him turn a corner. The nursery is always clean, tidy and I must mention the food as this always gets rave reviews from both of my children too!

We are especially pleased that the team's patience, reassurance and individual approach helped him through the times when he needed a little extra support. The decorated box is a lovely example of how getting to know each child and finding a solution personal to them can make such a meaningful difference. We are also delighted that he formed such a special relationship with a member of our Preschool team.

Our daughter joined at just 11 months old and has spent nearly 4 happy years here, now leaving to start Reception. It truly became her second home-she's grown, learned, and blossomed in the warmest, most caring environment. We've loved seeing her thrive with the amazing forest school sessions, getting outdoors and exploring nature; she absolutely loved Diddy rugby, building confidence and having so much fun; and we've always been so impressed by the delicious, nutritious meals provided-she was always so well fed and looked after. Every single member of staff has loved, nurtured and guided her, making us feel completely at ease every single day. Thank you for giving her the best possible start in life!

Since our son started in the baby room in August 2022 our family have been so grateful for the care and attention shown towards him as he has gone through his nursery journey. Each room has fully embraced his interests and included them in day to day activities. His love for reading has been a strong focus and really helped on days where drop offs were a little challenging and he could bring a book from home to read with his friends. The daily updates and handovers have provided a nice insight to what he has been up to and many happy memories made with woodykins and didi rugby that he has enjoyed telling us about. The nursery camera is a great touch aswell for insights to the day and reassurance. We will certainly miss the shooting stars family as they have been a constant support over the last 3 years!

We have had the most amazing experience with Shooting Stars settling in our first son to nursery - from their carefully planned settling in sessions, warm empathy towards me when I've been wobbly!, to the brilliant facilities and activities across the baby room and garden, the new foods he's tried every day and most importantly the beyond fantastic key workers who care for him like he's their own. He comes out smiling at the end of every day and has developed so much already after just a couple of months. From day one, the manager and the whole team have been absolutely brilliant. Everyone has been so kind, patient and caring, and we've always felt that our daughter was genuinely looked after. When our daughter was struggling to settle in, the team gave us so much encouragement and reassurance. They worked closely with us, offered helpful advice, and went above and beyond to help her feel safe and comfortable. We were especially touched by the little things they did to help her settle and being so thoughtful in supporting her individual needs. We have watched our daughter grow in confidence and become happy and excited to attend nursery. We are incredibly grateful to the whole team for helping her build that confidence and making such a positive difference to her early years.

My daughter has been attending Shooting Stars since 11 months old and has been thriving here. All of the staff are lovely and we get such a detailed handover every day as well as updates in the app. It's so comforting to see how happy she is every day at nursery and to hear about the activities she's been doing and the friends that she makes. We also have the reassurance of the cameras that we can log into throughout the day, which was a big deciding factor for us when choosing a nursery. You can tell that all of the staff truly care about the children and enjoy working here.

Our twin daughters have attended Shooting Stars Nursery since they were 18 months old and are now leaving for school in August. They have both progressed so much during their time there, from learning to walk to becoming confident little girls. Most importantly, they've always loved going to nursery.
One of our daughters has SEN needs, and the support from the staff has been amazing. SENCO has been especially fantastic, helping us through the EHCP process quickly and smoothly. Without her guidance and support, we would have felt completely lost.
The staff go above and beyond for the children and families, and we'll always be thankful for everything they've done for our daughters. We highly recommend Shooting Stars to any parent looking for a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment for their children

We couldn't be happier with shooting stars. From day one, the staff have been absolutely fantastic, so warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children's development and wellbeing. It's clear that they truly care, and that gives us real peace of mind every day. The facilities are excellent, clean, well-organised, and full of engaging activities that keep the children learning and having fun. Shay has come on so much since starting, and it's a credit to the environment and the team. We really appreciate the regular updates at pick-up, where staff take the time to talk through Shay's day. It makes such a difference feeling involved and informed. On top of that, the occasional updates and photos on the app are a lovely touch-it's great to get those little glimpses into what they've been up to during the day.
The nursery's strong Ofsted rating is well deserved and clearly reflected in everything they do. We'd highly recommend it to any parent.

Very very happy with Shooting Stars Hinckley! Our daughter is always excited to go in and talk to the staff and her friends. We have even added on a day just because she loves it so much. We can see a massive difference with her speech (vocabulary mainly) and confidence in herself. Staff are super friendly and very supportive and mirroring our own routines in nursery. Our daughter is now 99% dry (accidents happen-she is only 2!) after them following our potty training routine. Her room staff is also very empathetic and comforting (I have seen them giving her a cuddle when she was upset and that's exactly what she needs when she is sad). Handovers are thorough and we get a daily dairy online to see what she ate and what activity they did that day. Cameras are also available to check on her while she is in nursery. Very useful! I am so happy we have chosen Shooting Stars and I genuinely rave about them to anyone who asks.

From visiting this nursery in December 2023, we knew that the smaller, home from home feel would be ideal for our son who gets easily overwhelmed. Fast forward to September 2024 and our initial impressions were not wrong. Our son was at first very distressed and it took him a while to settle. The staff were so compassionate, reassuring and patient, not to mention persistent! Their hard work paid off and he has now formed an amazing bond with his key worker! Since September he has developed so well and we've loved seeing him engage in the varied activities. The staff encourage the children to engage with new sensory stimuli and they thoughtfully plan activities to suit their interests. This is timely communicated on the app. The facilities are engaging - my son loves the sensory room! The menu is also incredible, he eats so well each day!
Picking a nursery is a difficult decision but this one gets five Shooting Stars! The staff genuinely care about the children. It was the best decision we made!

Our first experiences of the nursery since our child started in Sep 24 have all been excellent. We have been impressed by the friendliness of all the staff and our baby's development has been amazing so far. He loves going to nursery and spending time there. We are also impressed by the transparency of the daily updates provided on the app and the ability to check on our child via nursery cam. Overall, we are very pleased and hoping for the excellent service to continue.

Shooting Stars at Hinckley are exceptional. Their manner, dedication, support and facilities embody everything you could ever wish for in a childcare provider - and more. They are the fourth nursery I've experienced and by far the highest standard. My child cannot wait to attend, having formed strong bonds with all the staff and being given opportunities to develop in a fun and engaging way. Whether it's messy play, song time, outdoor exploration or meal times, he loves every minute. The staff relationships with parents is also outstanding, always greeting with a smile, personalising interactions and showing that nothing is ever too much trouble. I 100% recommend Shooting Stars.

I cannot rate this nursery enough! Being a very nervous parent to twins, one of which has complex health needs, it was really important to find the right nursery for us all! From the minute I set foot in Shooting Stars for our look around I immediately felt at ease. We had to look at the nursery of two very different children's perspectives. The nursery catered for both above and beyond.
We had our first stay-and-play where we were able to stay and talk to all the practitioners which also put our minds at ease. I told them all about my worries and concerns to which they listened and reassured me. With my daughter, I was concerned about how the other children and about the environment she would be in. I explained my concerns and on my second visit, it was clear that all my concerns had been listened to and they had put fantastic plans into place. The equipment and activities they have for both of my children are fantastic. Would recommend it to everyone.

I couldn't be happier with the care provided at Shooting Stars Hinckley. The staff are professional and clearly love what they do. My son absolutely loves going to nursery and has a great bond with the girls that take care of him. Also, shout out to the chef too - food is a big thing in our household and my son eats so well at nursery - the menu is healthy and varied and similar to the meals we would serve him at home.
I would highly recommend this childcare facility to friends and family.

We are so happy with the care our little boy has at Shooting Stars. Every day he goes into nursery happy and excited for the day. He has made lovely relationships with staff and has made friendships with other children in his room. His transition between rooms has been seamless and all anxiety about leaving him at nursery quickly disappeared. We know our little boy is loved when he goes to nursery and he has the best opportunities given to him to help him develop. The seasonal menu is incredible and he always finishes his meals or second servings. The menu at Shooting Stars is nutritious and similar to what he eats at home. It's all cooked in-house by their chef, who our little boy always waves at in the morning at drop-off. All the staff are very kind and welcoming and will take the time to explain things more thoroughly if needed, e.g. funding. The resources are fantastic and the garden is fantastic.
We are very happy with our choice of nursery!

Mel has nearly 18 years of experience in childcare, beginning her career as a childminder before moving into nursery settings as her own children reached preschool age. Her passion for early years education flourished as she progressed into management roles, where she discovered a love for supporting teams to create inspiring environments and encouraging collaborative leadership.
Mel completed her Foundation Degree in 2015 and most recently achieved her National Professional Qualification in Early Years Leadership. She is committed to continuous professional development and is 1 year of her Bachelor of Arts in Early Years Childhood at Northampton University.
With a strong interest in supporting children with additional needs, Mel believes that “what is essential for some is good for all.” She is particularly focused on enhancing communication, language, and social-emotional development through targeted interventions and group work.
Mel has deep ties to the local community, having worked with the Westfield Community Development Association for many years. She is excited to build on these connections and actively participate in events such as the Christmas Tree Festival.

Steph joined Shooting Stars in 2022, bringing with her over a decade of experience in the Early Years sector. Her journey began in 2008 as an apprentice, and she has since progressed through a wide range of roles, including practitioner, room leader, deputy manager, nursery manager, senior manager, and now area manager. Steph has held leadership positions in Early Years management since 2011, consistently demonstrating a strong focus on quality improvement, staff development, and inspirational leadership.
She is particularly passionate about musicality and supporting strong language development in young children, and she enjoys embedding music and rhythm into daily routines to enhance communication and engagement. Steph also has a keen interest in designing stimulating and inspiring learning environments that nurture curiosity and creativity.
In her current role as area manager, Steph is committed to empowering staff to develop their own individual and visionary leadership skills. She believes in fostering a culture of reflective practice, collaboration, and continuous growth across all settings she supports.

Kully began her journey with Shooting Stars Nurseries in September 2014 as the Nursery Manager of the newly opened Wolverhampton setting. In 2022, she progressed into a strategic role, joining the Area Management Team as a Strategic Development Manager.
Her career in childcare began as a Level 2 Apprentice, followed by the completion of her Level 3 qualification. Since 2004, Kully has held a variety of leadership roles, including Room Leader in both Pre-School and Under 2’s, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager—spending 16 of those years in management. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of early years education and operational leadership.
Kully is particularly passionate about the development of children under two, with a strong focus on building secure attachments and nurturing environments that support emotional well-being and early development. She also brings extensive expertise in Health & Safety, SEND, and Safeguarding, which are central to her practice and leadership.
