Shooting Stars has been a great environment for both my children. They love to go to nursery! My child particularly enjoys the external activities that come each week.
She has always loved going to nursery and enjoys every moment when she is there.
The staff are all fantastic, caring and genuinely care about the children’s well-being. They make it a fun environment and the children learn so much through play. They also help prepare the children (and parents) for school which is really helpful.
All of the staff get to know the children regardless of what room the child is in. The love and care that they give it beyond explanation. Thank you.
Shooting Stars in Hinckley is an amazing nursery. My two and half year old has been attending the nursery since just before her first birthday. All the staff go the extra mile to ensure my daughter is happy and content whilst she is there. I also like having access to the cameras in my daughter's room so I can log in and see what she’s up to. A five star nursery and would recommend to anyone looking for a nursery for their child to attend.
Our daughter started in the baby room aged 8 months. Our baby’s key worker is lovely and has put our mind at ease. We have all quickly settled into our new routines and that’s thanks to the girls. The webcam is a great addition as we are able to check in during the day to see how much fun she is having!
Shooting Stars is a lovely caring nursery. My little boy is currently in toddlers and most importantly he is very happy. They do lots of activities and keep parents well informed. Great outside space too. The nursery cam is a great tool for parents who wish to check in and see what the little one is up to. Lovely staff who really do care for the children. I definitely recommend this nursery for any prospective parents.
Really pleased with our daughter's development and particularly since moving to Pre School 2 where the play based learning is excellent.
Shooting stars is a fantastic nursery. The staff are great and parents are kept well informed about their children’s progress. The new eyLog is brilliant and allows parents to access learning journeys and to contribute too. Our little girl has thrived there. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.
My son is about to go into preschool 2, coming towards the end of his time at Shooting Stars. He's thoroughly enjoyed every day at Shooting Stars and has made so many friends. The staff are well trained, professional and clearly passionate about what they do. They work hard to get to know every child individually, preparing a varied number of activities every day - all planned to help your child make progress. However, the best thing for me as a parent is that my son (and my older son now at school) look forward to going to nursery every morning, allowing me to feel reassured about his welfare and safety while I'm busy at work.
Extremely happy, both my little ones attend. They love it and have great relationships with the staff and have made great friends. Development pace is good and I feel at the perfect level.
My daughter loves this nursery and I think that is down to the staff. The preschool 1 and 2 staff are fantastic. There are new activities for the children to do and learn about every day and I know my child is completely safe, like a home from home.
Briliant nursery, the building/grounds is fab and well maintained. Security is very good with fingerprint recognition to gain access through the first door, with a member of staff letting you into the second door. Pictures of relatives/friends and a password is required to collect your child if you are unable to.
The staff are brilliant and my daughter loves them, they communicate well and listen to things I have said. A good handover is given at the end of every day including a food diary. The activities vary and there is a wide range to focus on specific areas of development. The staff listen to the parents and children's suggestions and interests and incorporate these into the activities. There is a parent development group and also a group for the children to tell the staff what they liked/didn't like and any new things they would like.
I would highly recommend this nursery.
I would however, have preferred more one to one meetings (progress reviews) through the time there (one was provided). In addition, I would have preferred a stronger emphasis on individualised learning and development. (However, I understand the pressures and time issues that educational staff face!)
Excellent nursery, my daughter has settled really well here and loves all the staff. Highly recommend!
My daughter moved to Shooting Stars from a different nursery and it was definitely a move for the better! The increase in the standard of care and facilities was amazing. This is moving from a good to a good as per ofsted. The food is restaurant standard. All the staff are friendly and happy to help no matter how busy they are. I am so pleased I made the decision to move her to Shooting Stars and I have recommended it to all my friends.
My son started in the baby room just over 2 months ago and my daughter has been here nearly 3 1/2 years. I can't recommend the nursery enough. My son has settled really well and the staff have been really helpful reflecting the care and routine he has at home. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds over this past year, she loves it in the pre-school room and looks forward to going. Think she'll be sad to leave in August ready to start school.
The staff always talk me through what kind of day she has had. I like the fact that whenever the weather is nice the children get taken into the garden for outside play. There is always something fun for the little ones to get involved in, my little girl has already got involved with painting, playing in the sand pit, dance class etc. and she is only 9 months old.
I would highly recommend Shooting Stars to friends and family.
Absolutely fantastic nursery. Son has been attending since he was 2. The staff are fantastic, very friendly. The setting itself is wonderful. My son cannot wait to go in for his sessions. Cannot recommend enough!
We are so pleased that we found this nursery. The staff at Shooting Stars are caring, professional and friendly. They provide wonderful learning opportunities in a creative and safe environment that engage and enhance our son's interests. They've been patient and sensitive throughout his settling in process and our son has now even started to ask to go on days he should be at home! Our son also loves the home cooked meals that they provide and they cater superbly for his allergies and dietary requirements. We highly recommend.
Thank you.
The building is just wonderful, really lovely and clean, but also well thought out - it's designed with children in mind and is very accessible. My daughter has been in the baby room, pre-toddlers and toddlers, which are all beautiful rooms: well set out, well resourced, and perfectly designed for the developmental stages of the children using them. There are great additional resources at the nursery (a sensory room and soft play room), and the parent-cam facility was really reassuring to use when my daughter first started. I don't use it so much now - partly because she can communicate so well and I know how much she loves it there - but I know it's there if I want to access it.
The nursery has great outdoor spaces and the staff seem committed to developing the areas further. They often ask for parental input, which I like - it's good to feel involved and included. And I like the fact that the children go outside rain or shine - I think that's a really important thing.
Communication is excellent and I feel very informed about what's happening at the nursery, what my daughter is doing, what is coming up, and what we can get involved with. There are also lovely activities that run in each room on certain days (football classes, dancing, etc). Add Christmas parties, trips, visits (say from the fire brigade), stay and plays, resource bags, hairdresser visits and all the other services on offer to the mix and you find a wonderful overall provision (for my daughter and for me as a parent).
I feel the nursery is a great learning environment and I have regular meetings with my daughter's key workers; I feel really informed about her development. The staff prepare engaging and stimulating activities (that I would never do with my daughter at home) and I really feel that her day is mapped out and that she's having access to age-appropriate activities that are designed to challenge and stimulate her.
I have to work, but knowing that she is cared for so well, is having fun, and spends her time away from me with staff who care about her has been an absolute blessing for me. The management team are great and really approachable too. It isn't the cheapest setting, but I believe you get what you pay for and I am prepared to pay for the best possible environment for my daughter.
Each parent has to make their own decision and do what's best for their own child - choosing a nursery is so important and it has to feel right. But I cannot recommend Shooting Stars enough - it is certainly right for my little girl.
