Ofsted rating for Co-op's Sussex Nursery is Outstanding (July 2023)

At Co-op Childcare Sussex they stay engaged with lots of activities from bike school to PE lessons to phonics activities. There's lots of diverse ways for your child to stay engaged and learn at their nursery. They also encourage children with brothers or sisters at nursery to take part in 'Sibling Diaries', a chance for siblings to spend time together and for nursery practitioners to share their experiences with parents/carers.

They have an app called ParentZone which will keep all parents/carers updated on how their little one is getting on, from photos of their day, meals eaten and assessments.

They are big on safety which is why all their staff are paediatric first aid trained and they have 5 Little Pioneers who help to share the Co-op Childcare's core values with their children.

They also have growing areas for food which they also eat as well as having regular visits to their local care home.

At Co-op Childcare Sussex, they house 5 spacious rooms catering for children from 3 months - 5 years with the latest technology, including interactive whiteboards and age-appropriate resources. Outside it has an adventure garden with tunnels, water play, slides, bike tracks and planting area.

Lovely facilities, modern, bright and fun, and love, love the rabbits and fish in reception. The staff are very friendly. The nursery has excellent opening hours and it's brilliant that it's open year round.

By and large, I would be likely to recommend, although with some issues. Pros - beautiful, helpful, welcoming installations. Staff try hard and are kind, it's very close and convenient to the University of Sussex. Cons - staff turnover rate is way too high, need to improve staff satisfaction if that
is what it will take to achieve greater stability.
Some staff clearly a bit stressed and highly strung.

The team we friendly and helpful and showed genuine care for our son. They communicated with us frequently with their observations of his development and interests when at nursery. The rooms were very well equipped and thoughtfully arranged to provide the perfect play environment.
I would highly recommend
this nursery to any of my friends.

Our experience was fantastic! My daughter was very happy and always willing to come back. We are not joining the nursery anymore as we moved abroad, but we would be if we would have stayed in Brighton. I totally recommend it.

The staff are amazing - caring, stimulating and fun. The building is state of the art, bboth of my children have been incredibly happy at the Sussex Nursery - they have come out with confidence and a sense of adventure.

My little girl has been at this nursery since she was 18 months old.
She has loved being in every single room from the caterpillars up.
The staff are friendly, helpful and very engaging.
The facilities are great and she seems to love the food and eats a lot more there than she does at home!
If I
had any more children they would all be going here!

Diet and food are very important for my child, so it was great to know there was a chef on site every day preparing fresh healthy meals. The staff are amazing and very committed to their jobs which are great to see when you are trusting someone with your baby/toddler. At the end of the days, it's so
great to be handed a day sheet. The nursery is also very good at notifying parents of any problems, such as rashes and bumps. The nursery is also very accommodating of any requests you have for your child in regards to diet etc. My daughter is often doing fun and mentally stimulating activities. I believe she is learning a lot mentally and physically, which is great to see that the nursery is not just a place to leave my child for her to be looked after while I am at work but rather a fun filled place with great learning opportunities. I would absolutely recommend this nursery - initially, I had a nanny, however, even that does not compare to how fantastic this nursery is.

My Son attended this nursery for a year and I was extremely happy with his care. The outdoor facilities were amazing and there was a big focus on arts and craft. The food was freshly prepared and the daily reports very informative. They were exceptional when it came to any injuries.

My son loves nursery, and enjoys playing in the large outside space. He had a baby brother a few months ago and is just realising that mummy goes back home with the baby after dropping him off and is struggling a bit with that but the staff in both butterflies and preschool have been excellent with
him.

The facilities at this nursery are outstanding! The outdoor play park is phenomenal and there is even a separate, smaller one for the babies.


My little girl loves the outdoor space but also gets time to develop her learning skills.


Kind and attentive staff have looked after her well.

Our daughter always came home very happy and content. She seemed to very much enjoy her time in the nursery and is looking forward to attending again. It seemed the meals were very nutritious and filling and that she felt very safe.

My son went to the Falmer Co-Op Nursery for just a few months as a pre-schooler and he absolutely flourished there.
The venue is brand new, light, and spacious. It is welcoming. The landscaped garden is amazing for the children to run around and play in.
The meals are balanced and healthy; children
are well fed throughout the day.
Last but not least, the staff is absolutely fabulous. Each individual is approachable, caring, dynamic and engaging. Under their encouragement and care, my somewhat shy little boy really came out of his shell. He learnt lots of new skills, had a great deal of fun, and generally grew more social and more confident.
At first, he didn't want to go at all, but in the end, he wanted to go every day, weekends included!
As a parent, I felt confident that my son was well looked after and cared for by professional and committed people who showed him respect, who continuously encouraged him, and made his days there so much fun.

My daughter started in October 2016 the staff were very friendly and informative and were really good with the settle in sessions and very helpful when I had to change one of the settle sessions due to sickness.

My child has attended the nursery from age 20 months to age 4. He is now leaving to attend school. During his time at nursery, he has been very well looked after and loved by the staff. He has always felt safe and happy at nursery and his care has been exceptional. The environment has been very emotionally
nurturing and this has been the most important aspect to me.
Some of the Co-op rules about not assisting children's artwork etc are very odd and I didn't particularly agree with this, although my child didn't notice and was largely unaffected and staff took on board my comments.

I could not fault the nursery or staff one bit, my son started from 2 years old until leaving for school and his confidence grew massively being there, the staff are amazing, he absolutely loved them.

This nursery and the staff is the warmest educational institution i have ever been to. Not only is it beautiful structurally, the gardens, the foyer for relaxing, the spacious, fantastically designed classes, the nursery is beautiful psychologically. Need i say more? My only regret is that i do not
have sufficient funds to have my two children in full time every week day!
