Bright Horizons Richmond Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

This purpose-built nursery offers four well-resourced rooms and a large outdoor area, including a 'Cooking Room', a 'Literacy Lounge' and 'Discovery Room' for children to play, learn and discover the world around them.

The Forest School allows the children to extend their learning into the outdoors where they can expand their imaginations, gain confidence and learn new skills. They especially enjoy getting creative in the mud kitchen.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

In addition, your child will also love the nursery's extra-curricular Spanish lessons.

The setting is located close to Richmond town centre with good transport links into central London.

The fees include meals and snacks, branded nappies, nappy cream, bottles and formula baby milk as appropriate.

We have had a wonderful experience at Bright Horizons, Richmond and are shortly about to send our second son there. The management are fantastic, very helpful and caring and the staff are lovely. Our children are well looked after and so are we. Very happy.

Our son really enjoyed attending Bright Horizons Nursery and made lots of adult and children friends. The facilities at the new location were excellent, especially the outside space. There were a few changes in management during our stay with definite improvements over time. We have found though, that
since moving to a new nursery that our son's academic education has accelerated, so perhaps this could be improved at Bright Horizons.

My daughter had a graduation party with her friends and teachers in June. The party was very well organised and was entertaining. The kids looked very happy and quite indulged in the whole event. Our son has been going to Richmond Day Nursery for 8 months, he started nursery very young at 4 months old.
The nursery has supported us as working parents and made it easy for us to leave him to go back to work!
All the staff in the nursery know our son - not only the staff who work closely with
him in the baby room which makes it a really friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk into the building.
We as parents could not be happier when we see how excited our son gets when he arrives at nursery.

Our son attended this nursery for 3 years from being 18 months old. We could not rate the staff and management enough for the hard work and dedication that they give to the children and also us families. The nursery has had a few management changes and staff changes but the team always work hard to
ensure that this does not affect the children. The learning opportunities for the children especially in preschool are great and our son was very ready for school when he left in September 2019. He was always a very shy boy and lacked confidence but the team worked really well to help him improve this and he left a different child. We will always be thankful to the team for the journey they gave us.

Considering that finding childcare options can be a really daunting prospect, with the right environment for your child, that is also convenient for your everyday schedule, is a near impossible task. Over the last three years, we have been happy with the way that the team at Bright Horizons in Richmond
continually work to meet this challenge.


For us, it is important to know that our little one has a warm and caring environment with the stimulation and personal touch that helps to meet his needs as he grows. It is natural that things are not always straightforward and when our little one has met with difficult situations, we have found that the team are ready to listen, adapt and work with us to make the changes needed, and this is really appreciated and valued by us as an integral part of the care they provide. It is a friendly, family environment, and one that works for us.

My son has been at the nursery for just over a year. He loves going and I have always been very happy with the care he receives from the staff in his room. He has made lots of progress and seems to really enjoy the food and the outside area. He also particularly enjoys the music sessions.
We always
get a detailed handover at the end of the day which is really useful and this is now recorded on a sheet of paper (initially it was just verbal which made it difficult to remember) - I think a record book would be more practical as the paper often gets mislaid and can be incomplete. I also don’t feel I know what activities he does every day as this is not always shared.
I feel the wider aspects of the nursery are less effective - parents sessions have been cancelled, the children’s visit from the tropical zoo was postponed (but never rescheduled) and there have never been any external visits/visitors for my son’s room. Key workers seem to change regularly and I haven’t known who it is.

Both my sons attend Richmond Day Nursery - I have a 13 month old and a 4 year old. They are and have always been, extremely happy here. Although there have been some changes in management and staff over the last year or so, there is a strong, new leadership and I am confident that the nursery will go
from strength to strength. The staff are fantastic. They really care about children and do their best to provide rich and stimulating learning experiences. The employment of early years experts has meant a real focus on learning in pre school especially which has inspired my son to continue his learning outside of nursery. There is a real sense of family. I would easily recommend this nursery to prospective parents.

I have two sons at the nursery, one in the 2-3 room and one in the baby room. The nursery has undergone a few challenges in the past 6 months with a lot of staff leaving but I feel they are really on the up now with some excellent old and new members of staff. Now there is a new manager in place, I
look forward to seeing more activities for key events and am excited to see the build-up to Christmas.


Since the new room leader joined in the 2-3 room, I have seen a significant improvement in my son's confidence, understanding and communication. He has a fantastic time at the nursery and is well fed and cared for.


The baby room is excellent, some lovely members of staff and a nice, small number of babies.


Having recently returned to work after my second maternity leave, I feel happy and confident that my children are well looked after, eat better meals than they do at home and have so much fun each day. Thank you, to the caring and hardworking staff.

Late in 2013 my son started at this nursery. It was a good spot back then and he enjoyed several years of three days a week there.


Over the past 6 to 8 months it has rapidly deteriorated. Sadly there is no proper manager and hasn't been since early 2017. Maintenance of the building is poor. Things

are dirty. Walls are a mess. The garden being downstairs is a nuisance and means the kids have to have a "time slot" to go outside. It's on the 316 main road and is polluted.


I will not be sending my second child to the nursery. Since the owners have taken this over it's just another "giant" of the nursery chain, driven by the US chain with policies and procedures put in above the care of children.


Staff were nice and tried to care but policies got in the way.

The nursery promises a wonderful, friendly and family atmosphere. All the staff are really warm and welcoming, they understand all the children's individual needs and I would describe the level of care as exemplary, they are only too happy to go above and beyond to ensure all the children and families

Great staff- they are all really attentive and genuinely care about all of the children, not just the ones they are directly responsible for. I have no complaints and always feel the staff are looking out for the parents best interests. The manager has really embraced his new role and I have noticed
his passion and enthusiasm really shine through and make lots of improvements at the nursing area and the kitchen looks a bit haggard, could make improvements to the garden. Please clean up the buggy shed and add hooks to wall.

I hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and Education and I have worked with Bright Horizons for 3 years. I have a great passion for ensuring that all children within our care are provided with a safe, caring and fun learning environment. I really enjoy working alongside our manager to provide staff with learning opportunities and supporting them to be strong and enthusiastic when delivering care and activities to children. As part of my role, I like to ensure that all staff are happy because happy staff results in happy children. As a parent myself I understand how important it is to ensure that your children are happy and safe whilst in their daycare environment.
