Kids Planet Knaresborough is located on Manse Lane in Knaresborough in North Yorkshire. It was the third nursery in the former Twinkles group and opened its doors in September 2012. The 92-place nursery offers full day care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.                

Kids Planet Knaresborough strives to give children the best start to life by giving them the confidence to play and learn about the world around them. The focus is on learning through play where children are nurtured and encouraged to discover their own unique personality and take part in a wide variety of activities to boost their imagination and social skills, as they experience the awe and wonder of the world.

Qualified and experienced practitioners help children to learn new skills and develop confidently towards school life. The practitioners are also encouraged to develop new skills, with some members of the team working towards an early years degree.

Parents are kept up-to-date with their child's development through online Learning Journeys and are encouraged to be partners in their children's learning as add comments to observations from nursery and share their own from home. A weekly parent newsletter, themed stay and play sessions and family events mean parents soon become part of the Twinkles family.

Kids Planet Knaresborough (formally Twinkles) were voted Harrogate Mumbler Day Nursery of the Year 2014, 2016 & 2018 and were shortlisted for the award in 2015. They have also been shortlisted for both the NMT and Nursery World Awards three times.

Twinkles has been amazing throughout lockdown, my son has been going all the way through and they’ve really helped him with his confidence, eating habits, etc

We have used Twinkles Nursery for both my children, so around 4 years. Both my children have loved it. I put this down to the staff who work there who are amazing with both the children and the parents. When choosing a nursery parents look at various different factors such as space, facilities, ratings,
meals etc and whilst all of these factors are important (and Twinkles tick these boxes anyway) all that really matters is how happy the children are that go there. My children have loved Twinkles so much that they miss being there and my son will ask to go.

Fantastic nursery.
Had issues with my old childcare provider during the lockdown with being a critical worker I needed childcare. Rang Twinkles and they were great went to visit the next day and my daughter started the next week. She absolutely loves it and is continuing to go after lockdown all the
time

My little boy has yet to start Twinkles, but we are looking forward to him becoming part of the Twinkles family. As a mother that is nervous leaving her baby with someone else for the first time, I can highly praise the nursery for the communication it has with parents in this particularly difficult
time. It has really left me feeling at ease knowing how well he will be cared for in my absence. They not only show you all the wonderful things happening at nursery but also give ideas of what we could be doing at home to work together to support his development. I really do feel they go above and beyond, and the times my little one has been to see the nursery we were warmly welcomed.

Would highly recommend the nursery, certain members of staff have been really helpful and are always willing to go above and beyond, this has shown with the way my daughter is around them and has built good bonds with what as a parent is good to see and know, the only downside has been my daughter has
had no fixed key worker in her first year due to staff leaving, the staff she has had acting as her key worker who have been new to their role are learning from the more experienced staff who work professionally. But I have been extremely impressed with the person who will become her key worker when she moves up to the next group this coming month, he has really taken time to introduce himself and has really shown interest in my daughters well being, coming from a highly professional care background myself I can not fault the nursery.

Friendly, well organised, well-staffed nursery with excellent facilities. My granddaughter has settled in really well and seems to be very happy. I enjoyed having the opportunity to visit the nursery to see where my granddaughter was being cared for when I am not able to look after her. It was good

Our boys (now 4yr and 2yrs old) have been at Twinkles full time for just over a year. Both settled extremely quickly into the happy fun environment where we know they are looked after so well. All the staff have such an interest in the boys and what they get up to. We always feel well informed about
their progress and staff will always listen when we have questions or queries. The boys love going to nursery and have made some lovely friends. They always talk about nursery when at home and excitedly tell us what they have been up to during the day.

My daughter has been going to Twinkles for 2 years, she loves going. I have always been well informed in her development and progress. The staff are all very approachable and I feel those who are looking after her day to day know her. She frequently talks about nursery at home and all the fun things
she has done during the day, which make the guilt of working full time much lighter, knowing her days are full of varied activities. I also enjoy being updated while she is at nursery with uploads to their online portal.

Twinkles provide a secure, caring, compassionate environment, in which the staff have sought to develop a nurturing relationship with my little boy.
Good facilities and clean surroundings are evident, however, more importantly to us has been the high level of staff nurture and care towards our child’s
developmental needs.
We feel that our child is comforted, reassured, challenged and encouraged when he is there and is given the opportunity to learn new things and explore new emotions in a safe way. He has developed strong positive attachments to the kind-hearted, enthusiastic members of staff who really do make Twinkles what it is.


We have encountered a couple of minimal concerns, which have been addressed swiftly involving thoughtful discussion with us about how best to support or child at these times. One little niggle would be that the outdoor space, we wish there was more of it! However, we knew this when we chose Twinkles and I wouldn’t let this sway our opinion.

I can’t fault Twinkles Nurseries Knaresborough. Everyone is so kind and helpful and always willing to go the extra mile and my kids absolutely love attending and love the staff too! It’s really nice to find a place where the staff treat our children as if they were their own!

My daughter has been going to Twinkles Nurseries Knaresborough since September. She has grown in confidence and become more independent. She shows a keen interest in learning and developing new skills. She has developed lovely relationships with the staff who she talks about all the time. The new manager
also seems actively involved with all the children. I think she is my daughter's fave - at least that's who I always have to be when she is "playing nurseries" at home!

Twinkles Nursery Knaresborough really offered me support when I had to return back to work when my son was 5 months old. Their friendly staff, environment and procedures in place for the children gave me the confidence that my son would only benefit from the attention he would receive here. My son is
now 14 months old and is thriving in Baby Stars. He has made some buddies and enjoys all the learning activities put on by his key worker. Twinkles management team are extremely efficient with their communication and discussing any matters you as a parent may have. The management team are always looking for ways to improve the nursery and take on board any parent feedback. This is really important when evaluating which nursery to send your child to - you always want to have a door open if needs be. We cannot rate this nursery and their facilities high enough, our son enjoys the time he spends there and I know he will miss it when he heads to big school!

Twinkles is a great nursery. My little boy loves going and asks every morning ‘Is it a Twinkles day?’. He is well looked after and has formed good relationships with the staff. He has a good group of friends of whom he loves playing and interacting with. He enjoys playing outside and going out and about
in the summer months. My son has a dairy allergy and is well catered for at nursery, he enjoys most of the meals and has actually become much more willing to try new things since starting at Twinkles. I am glad we chose this nursery.

Twinkles have helped our 2 year old so much and not just by developing him educationally but socially. Twinkles have helped him develop socially into a very confident and friendly little boy, which I think is just as important as his education. We can see from his time at Twinkles what he learns there
as he comes home and does and says things that he has clearly learnt whilst at Twinkles and you can tell he loves going.
Twinkles have also helped him become a better eater as he used to be quite picky but because Twinkles offer a wide variety of food there is not much our little boy will not try - although he is still not overly keen on vegetables!

From day 1, our child has been impatient to get to his 'Twinkles Nursery House' When we collect him, he is always happy and excited to tell us about his day. All the staff are friendly and accommodating which means he is safe and secure in his learning and playing. He even describes his key workers
as his 'best friends.'
We have been invited to join our child in a range of activities, from Valentine's day breakfast to Christmas singing events to stay and play sessions and we always experience a warm welcome.
We are 100% confident in the care he receives and the stimulating learning environment captivates his young mind in a variety of ways.
