The spacious Bright Horizons (Formerly Yellow Dot) Andover Day Nursery and Preschool has been mindfully designed to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

They have five large rooms filled with the best resources for each child’s age and stage. Whether that is a stimulating sensory area in the baby room, a messy play area, or a construction area to improve creative cognition, they take care to nurture the development of each individual child through fun and engaging means.

Outside, the nursery boasts a large garden. This is split into age groups to ensure the younger children can enjoy outdoor exploration in a safe environment. Older children benefit from a sand pit, climbing equipment, planting areas for gardening and a large mud kitchen. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

All-inclusive fees, which include all meals, snacks, nappies and wipes, give you less to prepare in the morning.

My daughter has been attending for around a year and a half and she really enjoys her time here, she always comes out telling us about her day. When my youngest joined just after the end of the first lockdown, it was hard as I couldn’t go in and settle him and he hadn’t been apart from me due to lockdown
for a long time. All of the staff were great and they gave him extra settling sessions. He now runs in with his sister every morning, without any issues.

We had our review today for the under 2 room and I was so impressed with the phone call. I took way too much of her time but not once did she rush me or try to leave out parts, I explained to her that my daughter loves coming to nursery and how the positive energy and atmosphere in the room is really
felt. The girls always seem like they really want to be there and look after the children. She has had a great experience through this tough time. Keep up the great work.

My daughter loves going to her nursery. They are so welcoming and warm and all staff seem to go above and beyond for the children. They support us as a family, keep us well informed of what’s going on. It’s really nice and comforting to know my daughter is safe and to know what she’s up to each day
she goes. I wouldn’t want my daughter to go anywhere else. Also, it’s open all year round, so with work, I don’t have to worry about looking for childcare in the school holidays.

Everyone at Andover Nursery does such an amazing job. My boy's all-round development can in some ways be attributed to the planning, security and care that the nursery provides. As is the care for probably all parents during these unprecedented times, we were apprehensive about sending our child back,
but Andover Nursery put our minds at ease and have continued to do so through their actions to minimise the risk.

We have recently requested a few extra sessions to help alleviate the pressure of the 'working from home season' that we are currently faced with. The team at Andover were very helpful and answered all of our questions very promptly. We can now rest assured our son is in good hands, at a place he loves.

I have two boys that attended this nursery and couldn’t be happier.
My boys love this nursery and all the staff.
They have gained so much confidence and learnt a lot since attending and I feel they have been very attentive with both of their needs.
I would most definitely recommend this nursery

My son joined this nursery as my friend sent both her children here and it is close to work. My son has loved nursery for the last year and a half. Pre-covid we'd go in and he'd often wonder in on his own and not even look back! Even if he was being a little clingy, he'd head in and after a quick cuddle
from the ladies and be as happy as Larry! They have called to reassure me, but I know what he is like. Post covid, we dropped to less days, but he settled again and likes to just walk in on his own. Whenever I turn up, he's busy playing to even notice me! I love getting updates on the online diary, and love I can post what we've been up to as well! He enjoys his food there, and they note down the menu on the daily report, often with a x2. I feel they have really helped his development, he is super chatty, starting to understand emotions (they have even helped me to help at home). His sister will be joining this year, and I can't wait for her to meet everyone in person!

I cannot say enough good things about this nursery. From my daughter's first settling in sessions they’ve put in so much effort to ensure she’s settled, keeping up with milestones, safe and having fun! The staff are all so lovely and I love having a little chat about my daughter's day when I go to pick
her up. She has such an amazing bond with her key worker and is always asking for them at home. My daughter absolutely loves coming to nursery. Her speech has come on so quickly since starting in November. We absolutely love seeing what she’s been up to on her Tapestry profile and seeing her build relationships with the staff and other children. I would recommend this nursery to anyone. We’re hoping to increase her sessions in a few months since she loves it here so much.

I found the team very approachable and always with smiling faces. My little one enjoys and always looks forward to going to nursery. I am rest assured that my precious gem is well looked after and safe at all times. I hope to see more variety of food offered (menu changed monthly) also we could do with
a bit of shade on the front door of the nursery.

The girls who run my daughter's room are fantastic! They are always pleased to see us and are great at keeping me updated through the window! The nursery as a whole have been great and very helpful, especially when working with us to try and get to the 'bottom' of my daughter's eating/drinking problem.

The nursery is amazing. My son has been going since January. He took a while to settle, but now he is so settled. He walks straight in and comes out so happy. All members of staff are always happy and willing to talk when they greet us and say goodbye. Everything is communicated well and I know exactly
what my son has eaten, slept and done. They have really helped with his eating as he wasn’t the best eater. Now he will eat a wide range of foods. I feel comfortable leaving my son when I go to work, knowing he is in safe hands. The key workers genuinely look like they can’t wait to have him there. I’m hoping to add an extra day for him to go soon. I love seeing what he has been up to on the tapestry journal.

I think this is a great nursery, my son loves it. The staff are amazing, helpful, kind. My son is always happy when he arrives and leaves. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. You always arrive and leave with a smile.

My daughter started at Yellow Dot at 5 months old. The baby team, toddler blue team and management were all extremely professional and friendly. They were extremely accommodating towards my daughter's needs and extended her settling in sessions as she was weaning from breastfeeding. My daughter loves
going to nursery and the care she receives from both baby room members is wonderful and genuine. Having recently been diagnosed with a dairy intolerance both the manager and carers were supportive welcoming and swift in making menu changes.

I couldn’t thank the staff and the nursery itself enough. I’ve had two children in this nursery over the last 6 years. They’ve helped my daughters come on so well with being around others and with their learning. Both girls have loved every minute of nursery. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. The
nursery itself is clean, tidy and there’s so much for the kiddies to interact with. The garden is a fantastic size. The food/menu is brilliant - this has helped my daughters eat so well, I’ve even used the recipes at home! The safety measures around the nursery are adhered to. Both my daughters have made fantastic relationships with both class friends and staff. This nursery comes highly recommended.

With many challenges, our son has been provided with a safe and caring environment. He arrived at Yellow Dot needing care for epilepsy, then went on to needing chemo for a brain tumour. Yellow Dot have been a massive support to our son and us through this. I couldn't ask for more, my son is happy and
safe.

I am writing to express my concerns relating to the new off-site ratios introduced by Bright Horizons. Regular (2 times per week) trips to feed the ducks, go to the park or visit Pets at Home are highly beneficial to children and something we as parents have really valued at Yellow Dot. Outdoor space
at Yellow Dot Andover is limited with no grass and trips out compensate for this. Please, could you review this policy and provide reassurance regular trips out will continue.

Jesse

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Jesse has been working in the early years sector since 2015 when she began her journey as a bank team member while pursuing her Degree in Early Childhood Studies at Portsmouth University. She completed her Early Years Teacher Status at the same university in 2016, after which she graduated and decided to work full-time in the setting. Over the years, she has taken on many different roles and worked across all age groups and rooms.


Her specialism is in Makaton, and 2020, she began her qualifications in this area, progressing through levels 1-4 and becoming a trainer in Makaton signing for babies and families. She now shares this knowledge through training across the Bright Horizons company and on social media platforms, hoping to inspire others to help children have a voice and be understood by all.

Charlene has been with Bright Horizons for 8 years and joined Andover Day nursery in June 2020. Charlene was the previous Deputy Manager at Thatcham.

Job Title: Third in Charge

Jess has been working at Andover Day Nursery since 2018. She started her childcare journey as an apprentice and has since worked her way up to Room Manager, and most recently, Third in Charge. Her specialist age group is toddlers - she loves witnessing their individual characters begin to shine through and their personalities develop.


She is a lover of all things messy play and encourages lots of mess!


In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, going on long dog walks with her golden retriever Athena, and spending time with her family and friends.
