Bright Horizons Court Oak Day Nursery and Preschool is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:00, for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

A warm, welcoming environment supporting the transition from home to the nursery is fully inclusive of nappies, wipes and milk, and they provide excellent nutritionally-balanced menus using fresh ingredients prepared by the nursery's own chef.

The large outdoor area with a herb and vegetable garden allows children to explore the world around, and there are two outdoor areas, one of which is for preschool children, the second being an all year round outdoor learning centre, enabling children to learn outdoors whatever the weather.

There is a lovely mud kitchen that has been extended for children to explore, including seating for children to sit down & play throughout the day. As children move out of toddlerhood and into the independence of the preschool years the programme for learning develops into a more structured pace of meaningful and purposeful learning, where children are encouraged to approach the world with curiosity and with a positive disposition to learn.

At this stage children at Court Oak need confidence and the skills and desire to think for themselves, to solve problems, to work with others, to communicate, and to gain an increased understanding of the world and how it works.

Pro-active covid issues. Contacted at the earliest opportunity when the first lockdown was announced and after a period away of four months furlough, my son was welcomed back and accommodated within two weeks on a graduated return (he'd only completed one week as a new starter and one year old when
the lockdown was announced.) Really impressed with engagement. My son absolutely loves attending and arrives and leaves with the biggest smiles - fantastic.

Best nursery ever.
After moving to the area, not knowing anyone or any nurseries in the area, I am 100% confident that I made the right decision in choosing Court Oak Day Nursery. The staff, facilities, management and my child's key worker make coming to nursery a very enjoyable experience for both

My son has been attending Court Oak for the last 6 months and has progressed immensely in that time.
All of the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and my son feels comfortable with all of them.
It's clearly a well-run establishment and everything from the food to the cleanliness is of the highest
quality.
The nursery is currently undergoing a refurbishment and will be even better with the extra money spent.
The staff have also ensured that during the refurb there have been no issues with rooms changing during decoration.
Highly recommended.

Both children are extremely happy here. They have a great bond with all their key workers. I feel the children are challenged in their learning which is great, they really love learning and playing. It is great to see them having fun in the garden with the staff.

Excellent nursery. Our daughter loves going. Regular reviews on her progress. Excellent communication on her wellbeing. We feel she is well looked after and has developed well in lots of areas. Her speech is really coming along and she always has new words to say or has learnt new things.

Lovely staff, mostly friendly but would be nice to see more smiles.
The door system needs improvement.
Staff are busy, rightfully caring for the children and at times, take too long to answer the door. Can there be another security system put in place where parents

I am perfectly happy about the way in which my son has been cared for in the nursery. All aspects of nursery life have been more than satisfactory. The only slightly problematic aspect is the frequent staff turnovers but that is something that is difficult to prevent. I understand that the management
is doing it's best to prevent the children from experiencing any negative effects and they seem to be successful.

Hello, my name is Abigail, but most people know me as Abiy.


In 2003, my journey with Bright Horizons began as a Nursery Nurse. After taking a brief part-time break to have my daughter, I returned to the Nursery. Over time, I advanced to the role of a room leader and ultimately secured a full-time position as Nursery Manager.


Concurrently, I pursued and successfully earned a degree in Early Years Childhood Studies.

My name is Sophie and I have been with Bright Horizons since December 2017. Within 9 months I had thrived and been given my role as a Room Leader within the preschool room and was training for my role as Third in Charge. I have recently been promoted to the position of Deputy Manager of the Nursery at the end of 2018 and Bright Horizons has helped me to develop the skills needed to go with this position. Bright Horizons has provided me with lots of training and filled me with confidence for all of my roles and I feel the appreciation from the company for all of the hard work that I provide. I feel that all staff who are welcomed into the company are given the correct training that they need in order to thrive within their positions within the settings.
