Our child has a lovely time at Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane Daybreak and his development is fantastic due to the interaction he receives whilst there. He also has a great bond with the staff in the baby room. Would highly recommend this nursery for the reasons above and the outside
play area.

The girls have made the settling process into nursery easy and comfortable for my son. He thoroughly enjoys his time at Daybreak and has developed immensely since joining. I feel very confident in leaving my son at nursery in the safe hands of very trustworthy staff.

Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane is a wonderful setting. The large outdoor space is great for children who enjoy being outside. The staff are warm, caring and engaged with both parent and child. My daughter loves going to Daybreak Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane and has made some lovely
friends as have I met some other lovely Mums.

Our daughter is 16 months old and has been attending Daybreak Shepherds Lane four days a week for the past 7 months. I am delighted to say that she absolutely loves it! As a first time mother the decision to return to work was incredibly difficult, but all of the staff at Daybreak made it really easy
for us. She had a number of settling in sessions which really helped to ease her into the nursery experience.

Each day we receive a written update in her journal telling us what she has eaten, nappy changes, sleeps and activities she has been involved in throughout the day, its lovely to read and keep this (even though the staff also talk us through her day each time we collect her). The food that is provided is very varied and healthy, our daughter loves her food and often has two portions!

The staff are all lovely and friendly and quite often we have to coax our daughter to come home with us at the end of the day!

I would not hesitate this fantastic nursery.

My children attend The Break after school club. They always have a good time and I can be sure they are safe and cared for by the lovely staff. I particularly like the strong emphasis on outside and messy play.

Before Daybreak my son lacked confidence and was frightened of everything & everyone. I thought that a childminder would be more personal, more loving and more cost effective but I was totally wrong. After a month at Daybreak the amazing staff were able to bring him out of his shell and even toilet
train him! Now, after a year at Daybreak, he has made lots of friends and really enjoys going to pre-school. He has been shown how to be independent & how to behave around others. It will be sad for him to leave this summer but I hope he uses his new skills to settle into big school in September.

Our eldest daughter started Daybreak 18 months ago and we have recently started sending our youngest. Both now attend 3 full days. Both girls have settled extremely well and this can only be down to the wonderful effort that the staff have put in to making them feel welcome. Each day is filled with
something different and one thing that has always impressed me is the knowledge that the girls have who work there. Despite having key workers, it seems that most of the girls in the rooms my children are in (Toddlers & Pre-School) know how the girls have gotten on, whether it be sleeping times to whether they ate all their pudding! We have never had any issues that would lead us to concern or worry. I have to mention three in particular who have been incredible in just being such a fantastic source of comfort not only for us but also the girls. Two of them have been great keyworkers and another has been brilliant in helping with the transition and introduction. The two girls are always leaving Daybreak with a smile on their faces and asking when they are going back. But credit to all the staff as it really is a joint effort and I would have no worries about any of them being keyworkers!! Would I recommend Daybreak?! Absolutely, without a hesitation :)

My son recently joined Daybreak Shepherds Lane and he has been made to feel very welcome. I love reading his daily diary and finding out what he has been up to. He always comes home happy and tired after a busy fun day. My son is only 6 months old but I am impressed with the range of activities he is
offered. The nursery is perfect for us.

My daughter (aged six) occasionally goes to the holiday/after-school club run by this nursery, and it's very good indeed. There is lots to do but they're not overwhelmed - there are organised activities that everyone takes part in at once, including running around/eating their packed lunches outdoors
in the huge school field, or digging in the mini garden, and at other times the children are free to relax and do their own thing, e.g. Drawing, reading in the quiet room, playing with cars etc. there is a new theme every week, e.g. Pirates, plants... The group is kept small and it is therefore easier for the staff to keep control and get to know the children. The staff are calm and observant of the children, fun when it's called for and firm when need be.

My daughter didn't go to the nursery itself (for under-fives), but I have to pass it on my way in and sometimes go through it to the office, and I've always noticed the same atmosphere of quiet, cheerful control - children playing happily, sometimes by themselves, sometimes with each other or with a member of staff, no stress, I think I've only once heard a child crying and within a few minutes it was over. I'm expecting my second child and am seriously considering sending him here when he's old enough.

Our son began attending Daybreak Shepherds Lane, when he was 11 months, he has recently graduated from pre-school ready to begin life in ‘big school’ from September.

As a family we have always been welcomed daily into the nursery, we have been fully informed of our son’s progress and felt assured

he was being well cared for. Communication & flexibility is one of the nurseries strengths, on occasion flexibility was requested from us as a family, the nursery were happy to help.

We cannot thank all the staff throughout the setting enough, from day one, from entering the baby room, to leaving the pre-school room he has enjoyed every moment. The staff have helped him grow into the confident little man he is now, ready to embrace school. We will miss watching him run down towards the entry gates and will in ways miss trying to persuade him to leave by chasing after him around the playground area – testament to how much he enjoyed being there!

The caring relationship between our son and his keyworker was evident on his last day by the emotional cuddle he gave her to say goodbye.

Thank you Daybreak for the many years of joy, adventure and learning you have provided.

We look forward to returning with the future siblings! .

DAYBREAK NURSERY has everything we could have wished for in a nursery and more. Our two sons have been attending since they were 4 months old and have enjoyed every single day. The management and staff really do offer high quality flexible childcare. Their main aim is to promote FUN and our boys have
had nothing but fun since they joined. The staff are very well trained and managed and always show a welcoming smile at any time of the day. We have found the staff to take a real interest in our boys and work with them to develop them in so many ways such as socially, promoting independence, learning through fun play etc.
They are provided with a variety of fresh nutritious meals every day. We have never had a problem or issue with Daybreak Nurseries, they are always there to listen, advise and assist where possible. We are sad to say our oldest boy will be leaving soon to attend our local School Nursery but he will be returning to Daybreak on his school holidays to join in the fun with all the lovely friends he has made during his 3 years here. Our youngest is just moving from baby room to toddler and is looking forward to the change and the adventure his new room and carers will bring. We have no doubt it will be exciting!
We would have no hesitation in recommending Daybreak Nursery and it's staff to parents who are looking for a top class, fun and flexible nursery for their special little ones.

We are extremely happy with the level of care and attention to detail given to our son at RSL. Their support in our baby led schedules and baby led weaning has been fantastic, and they have been key in supporting his nap transitions. Meals and meal plans are excellent, activities are varied and my son
loves his days at nursery!

What a gem of a place. They are so helpful and attentive. I really couldn't recommend them enough. My son has developed brilliantly there and I have NEVER had even the slightest of issues. "A" stars all round for all the staff. Wonderful people and amazing facilities. My partner and I work shifts which
can change at short notice. I sometimes have to ring to change the days he is attending nursery and they don't bat an eye lid. I've heard horror stories of the rigidity of almost all other nurseries when it comes to what days children attend etc, but at Daybreak the motto seems to be "If it's doable...we'll do it!"

My child has been at Daybreak Shepherds Lane for almost a year now, and she is very happy there. The nursery is lovely - set in a tranquil location with a spacious garden, it feels very peaceful and safe.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and take excellent care of the children. The nursery
is well run and contact with parents is very good.
They are flexible about hours of attendance, which helps to fit in with work and other commitments.
The overall feeling I get when being there is that it is simply a very happy place, and all the children enjoy being there - which is all you want from a nursery really!

My daughter has been at Daybreak Shepherds Lane for just over two years and from day one they have provided excellent care whilst encouraging her to become her own little person. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much. They provide a kind and friendly environment for the children as well as
giving them structure to their day preparing them for school life ahead.
The staff are always accessible and have dealt proficiently with my daughter's dairy allergy which has been of great comfort to me.
Daybreak also benefits from great outdoor space and the staff encourage the children to play outside whenever weather permits.
I highly recommend Daybreak Shepherds Lane to anyone looking for day to day nursery care for their children.

My high praise for this nursery starts from the top. The management has a clear vision of what it needs and wants to achieve and most importantly this is fed down and through to every level of staffing and care. My two children have been allowed to develop both together and independently. Communication
from the nursery is continually improving and our questions have always been answered promptly and appropriately. There is always a friendly face on hand at the start or end of the day. The nursery benefits from ample outdoor space which was important to us. The best recommendation would be from the children themselves, who bound down the path and back again each day they are at nursery.

My two boys have been at Shepherds since it opened in 2010. The staff are amazing and they have gone over and above their duties on many occasions to make the boys feel loved, safe and secure. The boys now attend The Break and they thoroughly enjoy the activities and outdoor space. I would highly recommend
Shepherds Daybreak. Many of the staff are long running members (which speaks volumes) and they do a brilliant job and they will always have our support. Thank You!

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.430)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.430) out of 10 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.638 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

I have worked at Daybreak since 2015 starting as a student while completing my level 3 nursery nurse qualification. I then went on to become the room leader of the preschool. Throughout my years of experience, I have developed my knowledge in Special Educational Needs work, supporting children to reach their individual next steps and building partnerships with outside agencies.
In 2018, I started my BA Hons degree in early childhood studies which I proudly graduated in 2021. Taking on a degree while working full-time taught me skills which I find very useful today. It has given me a wider knowledge and awareness of early years, discovering new ways to enhance children’s learning and understanding of how early brain development is influenced.

In 2021, I became a deputy manager at one of our other nurseries in High Wycombe. When I heard that the deputy manager position had become available here at Daybreak, I jumped at the chance of coming back, now becoming the nursery manager.

I am very fond of Daybreak; it was the nursery I attended when I was younger. It has been such an amazing journey seeing the transformation of this wonderful setting. The changes to the nursery environment and the way the children have adapted have been truly inspiring. My aim is to create an outstanding nursery setting for the children.
The staffing team here are incredibly fond of the nursery too. They also inspire to create of a warm, welcoming environment in which the children are able to thrive. They make the nursery feel like a home away from home feeling for both the children and the families.
