My son has attended Daybreak for over 3 years and has been in the baby room, the toddler room and the preschool room. I have been happy with all aspects of his care but what has impressed me most about the nursery has been the commitment of the team caring for him. It is clear that the staff genuinely
care about the children and show great kindness towards them. As a working parent, it’s important to me that my son receives cuddles and reassurance where necessary whilst in the nursery and this has always been the case at Daybreak, throughout all the rooms. There is a strong sense of routine which really helped early on with his eating and sleeping but the children are also treated as individuals and encouraged to thrive.

Daybreak Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane has been a home away from home for my 2-year-old son. We have recently moved to Rickmansworth from overseas and Daybreak has assisted in this transition. Their loving care and attention to detail with each child is wonderful to stimulate growth and confidence. Each
morning they receive the children with care and at the end of each day give a detailed individual account of the day's events. At the parent-teacher meeting, we received an in-depth assessment of how our son was meeting the developmental milestones and age-appropriate goals.

Fantastic nursery. Friendly caring staff who always look after my daughter well. They are always smiling even on the busy days and always have time to chat if I want to. My daughter always has a brilliant time when she goes and comes out smiling. They have always Managed to cater for my daughter's
food allergies well and are happy to work with me regarding her eating and food. Would highly recommend.

I strongly recommend Daybreak Nursery, if you are a very stressed mum as I am and you have a very fussy child, this is the perfect place. The ladies are very professional, they are explaining and detailing everything, they make the babies feel at home, lots of cuddling, playing, encouraging to eat.
They have the patience and resources to handle our babies even better than us, the parents.

We are extremely happy with the care that our son is receiving from the nursery. All the key workers are genuinely caring and always very attentive to every child. We have witnessed this all across the board and not just in the baby room. Our son has a number of allergies; dairy, nuts and eggs.
We have been blown away about how attentive the nursery have been to cater for his needs! They make sure he always has balanced complete meals by sourcing a variety of 'free from' meals such as dairy free muffins, fruit pot yoghurts and snacks. They have never made him feel differently to the other babies. They do it all effortlessly and it never seems like it's too much trouble. Our son has now developed a real enjoyment for his meals which he didn't before. This was a particular worry for us due to his condition. The environment is relaxed, friendly, spacious (both internally and outside) with lots of activities. Generally, an excellent nursery! Thank you Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane!

My daughter has been attending Daybreak at Rickmansworth Shepherd's Lane since she was 10 months and she is now just over 2. She has come on so much since she has been there and really loves it. The staff there are wonderful with the children, so warm, friendly and welcoming. They get a great mix of
activities and do lots of playing outside. It is a really lovely community and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to others.

My son has been attending Daybreak Nursery in Shepherds Lane for over a year now and he loves it! The staff are fantastic and take a real interest in each child. Every day we get a full report on the activities he has done throughout the day, how long he has slept for and what he has eaten etc. Dropping
a moody/sleepy child off in the morning can be a stressful task sometimes but the staff make it so easy and quickly get him involved and active with the other kids. Really couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough.

We have been using Daybreak since 2013 and are extremely happy with the service they provide.
Communication is excellent and any problems that arise are dealt with quickly and professionally. We are made to feel valued as parents first and many members of staff have gone above and beyond the call of
duty - too many to mention, in fact!
There is a fantastic family feel amongst staff and this permeates the whole nursery atmosphere; I feel that I am leaving my children with extended family and they both adore all the adults that care for them. I was worried about how my youngest would cope as he’s not as easygoing as his older sister but he loves going to nursery and has never had a problem separating from me at drop off. I can’t explain the relief I feel knowing he is content and this has made my return to work much easier, which is invaluable.
I have nothing but praise for the staff at Daybreak and I am actually dreading the day my youngest leaves even though it’s years away!

I have used this nursery for over 5 years with both my daughters and I always found the staff exceptionally dedicated to the care of my children. The hours the nursery is open is a real positive, as I would struggle otherwise with my commute into London, as is the outdoor space which is a real bonus
all year round and an important factor I considered when originally choosing this nursery. The management is good and has resolved any issues that have arisen speedily and with satisfaction. My daughters both love coming to this nursery and along with feeling confident they are safe and comforted if upset that is the most important thing to me as a parent.

As a parent to a child that found settling very difficult, I really appreciate all the hard work all the staff have put in to making my daughter's nursery days as pleasant as possible. She has made amazing relationships within the different rooms throughout the nursery. She really responded well to
the outside activities that came into the nursery which made the separation from me easier as they were always there when I dropped her off. Overall this nursery has been amazing for her development and separation to her close family and I couldn't thank them all enough.

My son has attended Daybreak Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane from 4.5 months and is now in the preschool room. We have always found that he comes home happy and has never had an issue with going into the nursery. He comes home and talks in excess of what he has done through the day and the careers that
have interacted with him. It’s clear all the staff have a great love for what they do and I am always greeted by all staff not just the members in his base room. They’ve helped multiple transitions, such as toilet training, moving rooms and even difficult home transitions too. There are no words to explain how integral they have been in how he has developed. We have found the management to be extremely flexible and very informative with regards to funding etc. Without Daybreak I honestly cannot imagine how we could have got to this point. I can’t imagine our son being anywhere else! Great job everyone! Keep it up!

The staff here have been fantastic helping my boys settle in, particularly my younger son who had never been to nursery before. They were very patient, kind and encouraging with him and we felt confident leaving him there with them. The staff are all very welcoming and take a great interest in all the
children. Both my children love going especially as the garden is so big with lots to do. They have a great time there and have learnt lots of songs and produced lots of artwork! I would definitely recommend Daybreak to anyone considering it.

Both our girls have been cared for by Daybreak Nurseries from 7 months old. We now have one who has started school but uses Daybreak's "The Break" facilities and the other is in Daybreak's pre-school.

I cannot praise this nursery enough. They provide a structured, caring, educational and fun environment

in which both my girls have flourished. Aside from the excellent staff and carers, the environment really is first class for a nursery with outdoor space in abundance.

Choosing a Nursery is a difficult and important decision. Looking back over the past 5 years of my children attending, I can honestly say that we made the best possible choice for our girls. They are full of confidence, happiness, fitness and are extremely developed socially. I cannot recommend Daybreak enough.

Note: both my children were allergic to various foods and the nursery dealt with this VERY well.

My children have attended this nursery from baby room through to the now after school club and holiday club - Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane. My children love being there, which itself is a huge recommendation. The staff are genuinely caring and always ensure we get a full update of
what they have been doing. This nursery and after school/holiday club are well run and managed with a personal touch which when dealing with YOUR children.....is a huge comfort.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.430)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.430) out of 10 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.638 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

I have worked at Daybreak since 2015 starting as a student while completing my level 3 nursery nurse qualification. I then went on to become the room leader of the preschool. Throughout my years of experience, I have developed my knowledge in Special Educational Needs work, supporting children to reach their individual next steps and building partnerships with outside agencies.
In 2018, I started my BA Hons degree in early childhood studies which I proudly graduated in 2021. Taking on a degree while working full-time taught me skills which I find very useful today. It has given me a wider knowledge and awareness of early years, discovering new ways to enhance children’s learning and understanding of how early brain development is influenced.

In 2021, I became a deputy manager at one of our other nurseries in High Wycombe. When I heard that the deputy manager position had become available here at Daybreak, I jumped at the chance of coming back, now becoming the nursery manager.

I am very fond of Daybreak; it was the nursery I attended when I was younger. It has been such an amazing journey seeing the transformation of this wonderful setting. The changes to the nursery environment and the way the children have adapted have been truly inspiring. My aim is to create an outstanding nursery setting for the children.
The staffing team here are incredibly fond of the nursery too. They also inspire to create of a warm, welcoming environment in which the children are able to thrive. They make the nursery feel like a home away from home feeling for both the children and the families.
