Daybreak Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane has been a home away from home for my 2-year-old son. We have recently moved to Rickmansworth from overseas and Daybreak has assisted in this transition. Their loving care and attention to detail with each child is wonderful to stimulate growth and confidence. Each morning they receive the children with care and at the end of each day give a detailed individual account of the day's events. At the parent-teacher meeting, we received an in-depth assessment of how our son was meeting the developmental milestones and age-appropriate goals.

Fantastic nursery. Friendly caring staff who always look after my daughter well. They are always smiling even on the busy days and always have time to chat if I want to. My daughter always has a brilliant time when she goes and comes out smiling. They have always Managed to cater for my daughter's food allergies well and are happy to work with me regarding her eating and food. Would highly recommend.

I strongly recommend Daybreak Nursery, if you are a very stressed mum as I am and you have a very fussy child, this is the perfect place. The ladies are very professional, they are explaining and detailing everything, they make the babies feel at home, lots of cuddling, playing, encouraging to eat. They have the patience and resources to handle our babies even better than us, the parents.

My daughter has been attending Daybreak at Rickmansworth Shepherd's Lane since she was 10 months and she is now just over 2. She has come on so much since she has been there and really loves it. The staff there are wonderful with the children, so warm, friendly and welcoming. They get a great mix of activities and do lots of playing outside. It is a really lovely community and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to others.

We are extremely happy with the care that our son is receiving from the nursery. All the key workers are genuinely caring and always very attentive to every child. We have witnessed this all across the board and not just in the baby room. Our son has a number of allergies; dairy, nuts and eggs. We have been blown away about how attentive the nursery have been to cater for his needs! They make sure he always has balanced complete meals by sourcing a variety of 'free from' meals such as dairy free muffins, fruit pot yoghurts and snacks. They have never made him feel differently to the other babies. They do it all effortlessly and it never seems like it's too much trouble. Our son has now developed a real enjoyment for his meals which he didn't before. This was a particular worry for us due to his condition. The environment is relaxed, friendly, spacious (both internally and outside) with lots of activities. Generally, an excellent nursery! Thank you Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane!

My son has been attending Daybreak Nursery in Shepherds Lane for over a year now and he loves it! The staff are fantastic and take a real interest in each child. Every day we get a full report on the activities he has done throughout the day, how long he has slept for and what he has eaten etc. Dropping a moody/sleepy child off in the morning can be a stressful task sometimes but the staff make it so easy and quickly get him involved and active with the other kids. Really couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough.

We have been using Daybreak since 2013 and are extremely happy with the service they provide.
Communication is excellent and any problems that arise are dealt with quickly and professionally. We are made to feel valued as parents first and many members of staff have gone above and beyond the call of duty - too many to mention, in fact!
There is a fantastic family feel amongst staff and this permeates the whole nursery atmosphere; I feel that I am leaving my children with extended family and they both adore all the adults that care for them. I was worried about how my youngest would cope as he’s not as easygoing as his older sister but he loves going to nursery and has never had a problem separating from me at drop off. I can’t explain the relief I feel knowing he is content and this has made my return to work much easier, which is invaluable.
I have nothing but praise for the staff at Daybreak and I am actually dreading the day my youngest leaves even though it’s years away!

My son has attended Daybreak Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane from 4.5 months and is now in the preschool room. We have always found that he comes home happy and has never had an issue with going into the nursery. He comes home and talks in excess of what he has done through the day and the careers that have interacted with him. It’s clear all the staff have a great love for what they do and I am always greeted by all staff not just the members in his base room. They’ve helped multiple transitions, such as toilet training, moving rooms and even difficult home transitions too. There are no words to explain how integral they have been in how he has developed. We have found the management to be extremely flexible and very informative with regards to funding etc. Without Daybreak I honestly cannot imagine how we could have got to this point. I can’t imagine our son being anywhere else! Great job everyone! Keep it up!

I have used this nursery for over 5 years with both my daughters and I always found the staff exceptionally dedicated to the care of my children. The hours the nursery is open is a real positive, as I would struggle otherwise with my commute into London, as is the outdoor space which is a real bonus all year round and an important factor I considered when originally choosing this nursery. The management is good and has resolved any issues that have arisen speedily and with satisfaction. My daughters both love coming to this nursery and along with feeling confident they are safe and comforted if upset that is the most important thing to me as a parent.

As a parent to a child that found settling very difficult, I really appreciate all the hard work all the staff have put in to making my daughter's nursery days as pleasant as possible. She has made amazing relationships within the different rooms throughout the nursery. She really responded well to the outside activities that came into the nursery which made the separation from me easier as they were always there when I dropped her off.
Overall this nursery has been amazing for her development and separation to her close family and I couldn't thank them all enough.

The staff here have been fantastic helping my boys settle in, particularly my younger son who had never been to nursery before. They were very patient, kind and encouraging with him and we felt confident leaving him there with them. The staff are all very welcoming and take a great interest in all the children. Both my children love going especially as the garden is so big with lots to do. They have a great time there and have learnt lots of songs and produced lots of artwork! I would definitely recommend Daybreak to anyone considering it.

Both our girls have been cared for by Daybreak Nurseries from 7 months old. We now have one who has started school but uses Daybreak's "The Break" facilities and the other is in Daybreak's pre-school.
I cannot praise this nursery enough. They provide a structured, caring, educational and fun environment in which both my girls have flourished. Aside from the excellent staff and carers, the environment really is first class for a nursery with outdoor space in abundance.
Choosing a Nursery is a difficult and important decision. Looking back over the past 5 years of my children attending, I can honestly say that we made the best possible choice for our girls. They are full of confidence, happiness, fitness and are extremely developed socially. I cannot recommend Daybreak enough.
Note: both my children were allergic to various foods and the nursery dealt with this VERY well.

Fantastic nursery, really friendly and experienced staff.
Great big back garden (this was a big plus when comparing to nurseries closer to the town centre).
My child has settled in really well and seems to have great fun.

Highly recommend! My daughter is very happy here and settled quickly. She is well cared for by extremely professional staff who cannot do enough to help and support us a family. Management are also extremely professional and respond quickly to any queries. The outside space is lovely and the food is great.

Every member of staff I have met is warm, helpful, cheerful and enthusiastic. My son is treated with respect and looked after in a loving environment. The Daybreak team have made a huge effort to get to know him - and me - and I am so happy we chose this nursery.
Thank you all.

Our child has a lovely time at Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane Daybreak and his development is fantastic due to the interaction he receives whilst there. He also has a great bond with the staff in the baby room. Would highly recommend this nursery for the reasons above and the outside play area.

My children have attended this nursery from baby room through to the now after school club and holiday club - Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane. My children love being there, which itself is a huge recommendation. The staff are genuinely caring and always ensure we get a full update of what they have been doing. This nursery and after school/holiday club are well run and managed with a personal touch which when dealing with YOUR children.....is a huge comfort.

Daybreak Nurseries Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane is a wonderful setting. The large outdoor space is great for children who enjoy being outside. The staff are warm, caring and engaged with both parent and child. Our daughter is 16 months old and has been attending Daybreak Shepherds Lane four days a week for the past 7 months. I am delighted to say that she absolutely loves it! As a first time mother the decision to return to work was incredibly difficult, but all of the staff at Daybreak made it really easy for us. She had a number of settling in sessions which really helped to ease her into the nursery experience.
Each day we receive a written update in her journal telling us what she has eaten, nappy changes, sleeps and activities she has been involved in throughout the day, its lovely to read and keep this (even though the staff also talk us through her day each time we collect her). The food that is provided is very varied and healthy, our daughter loves her food and often has two portions!
The staff are all lovely and friendly and quite often we have to coax our daughter to come home with us at the end of the day!
I would not hesitate this fantastic nursery.

My children attend The Break after school club. They always have a good time and I can be sure they are safe and cared for by the lovely staff. I particularly like the strong emphasis on outside and messy play.

Before Daybreak my son lacked confidence and was frightened of everything & everyone. I thought that a childminder would be more personal, more loving and more cost effective but I was totally wrong. After a month at Daybreak the amazing staff were able to bring him out of his shell and even toilet train him! Now, after a year at Daybreak, he has made lots of friends and really enjoys going to pre-school. He has been shown how to be independent & how to behave around others. It will be sad for him to leave this summer but I hope he uses his new skills to settle into big school in September.

Our eldest daughter started Daybreak 18 months ago and we have recently started sending our youngest. Both now attend 3 full days. Both girls have settled extremely well and this can only be down to the wonderful effort that the staff have put in to making them feel welcome. Each day is filled with something different and one thing that has always impressed me is the knowledge that the girls have who work there. Despite having key workers, it seems that most of the girls in the rooms my children are in (Toddlers & Pre-School) know how the girls have gotten on, whether it be sleeping times to whether they ate all their pudding! We have never had any issues that would lead us to concern or worry. I have to mention three in particular who have been incredible in just being such a fantastic source of comfort not only for us but also the girls. Two of them have been great keyworkers and another has been brilliant in helping with the transition and introduction. The two girls are always leaving Daybreak with a smile on their faces and asking when they are going back. But credit to all the staff as it really is a joint effort and I would have no worries about any of them being keyworkers!! Would I recommend Daybreak?! Absolutely, without a hesitation :)

My son recently joined Daybreak Shepherds Lane and he has been made to feel very welcome. I love reading his daily diary and finding out what he has been up to. He always comes home happy and tired after a busy fun day. My son is only 6 months old but I am impressed with the range of activities he is offered. The nursery is perfect for us.

We are extremely happy with the level of care and attention to detail given to our son at RSL. Their support in our baby led schedules and baby led weaning has been fantastic, and they have been key in supporting his nap transitions. Meals and meal plans are excellent, activities are varied and my son loves his days at nursery!

DAYBREAK NURSERY has everything we could have wished for in a nursery and more. Our two sons have been attending since they were 4 months old and have enjoyed every single day. The management and staff really do offer high quality flexible childcare. Their main aim is to promote FUN and our boys have had nothing but fun since they joined. The staff are very well trained and managed and always show a welcoming smile at any time of the day. We have found the staff to take a real interest in our boys and work with them to develop them in so many ways such as socially, promoting independence, learning through fun play etc.
They are provided with a variety of fresh nutritious meals every day. We have never had a problem or issue with Daybreak Nurseries, they are always there to listen, advise and assist where possible. We are sad to say our oldest boy will be leaving soon to attend our local School Nursery but he will be returning to Daybreak on his school holidays to join in the fun with all the lovely friends he has made during his 3 years here. Our youngest is just moving from baby room to toddler and is looking forward to the change and the adventure his new room and carers will bring. We have no doubt it will be exciting!
We would have no hesitation in recommending Daybreak Nursery and it's staff to parents who are looking for a top class, fun and flexible nursery for their special little ones.

Our son began attending Daybreak Shepherds Lane, when he was 11 months, he has recently graduated from pre-school ready to begin life in ‘big school’ from September.
As a family we have always been welcomed daily into the nursery, we have been fully informed of our son’s progress and felt assured he was being well cared for. Communication & flexibility is one of the nurseries strengths, on occasion flexibility was requested from us as a family, the nursery were happy to help.
We cannot thank all the staff throughout the setting enough, from day one, from entering the baby room, to leaving the pre-school room he has enjoyed every moment. The staff have helped him grow into the confident little man he is now, ready to embrace school. We will miss watching him run down towards the entry gates and will in ways miss trying to persuade him to leave by chasing after him around the playground area – testament to how much he enjoyed being there!
The caring relationship between our son and his keyworker was evident on his last day by the emotional cuddle he gave her to say goodbye.
Thank you Daybreak for the many years of joy, adventure and learning you have provided.
We look forward to returning with the future siblings! .

My daughter (aged six) occasionally goes to the holiday/after-school club run by this nursery, and it's very good indeed. There is lots to do but they're not overwhelmed - there are organised activities that everyone takes part in at once, including running around/eating their packed lunches outdoors in the huge school field, or digging in the mini garden, and at other times the children are free to relax and do their own thing, e.g. Drawing, reading in the quiet room, playing with cars etc. there is a new theme every week, e.g. Pirates, plants... The group is kept small and it is therefore easier for the staff to keep control and get to know the children. The staff are calm and observant of the children, fun when it's called for and firm when need be.
My daughter didn't go to the nursery itself (for under-fives), but I have to pass it on my way in and sometimes go through it to the office, and I've always noticed the same atmosphere of quiet, cheerful control - children playing happily, sometimes by themselves, sometimes with each other or with a member of staff, no stress, I think I've only once heard a child crying and within a few minutes it was over. I'm expecting my second child and am seriously considering sending him here when he's old enough.

What a gem of a place. They are so helpful and attentive. I really couldn't recommend them enough. My son has developed brilliantly there and I have NEVER had even the slightest of issues. "A" stars all round for all the staff. Wonderful people and amazing facilities. My partner and I work shifts which can change at short notice. I sometimes have to ring to change the days he is attending nursery and they don't bat an eye lid. I've heard horror stories of the rigidity of almost all other nurseries when it comes to what days children attend etc, but at Daybreak the motto seems to be "If it's doable...we'll do it!"

My daughter has been at Daybreak Shepherds Lane for just over two years and from day one they have provided excellent care whilst encouraging her to become her own little person. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much. They provide a kind and friendly environment for the children as well as giving them structure to their day preparing them for school life ahead.
The staff are always accessible and have dealt proficiently with my daughter's dairy allergy which has been of great comfort to me.
Daybreak also benefits from great outdoor space and the staff encourage the children to play outside whenever weather permits.
I highly recommend Daybreak Shepherds Lane to anyone looking for day to day nursery care for their children.

My child has been at Daybreak Shepherds Lane for almost a year now, and she is very happy there. The nursery is lovely - set in a tranquil location with a spacious garden, it feels very peaceful and safe.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and take excellent care of the children. The nursery is well run and contact with parents is very good.
They are flexible about hours of attendance, which helps to fit in with work and other commitments.
The overall feeling I get when being there is that it is simply a very happy place, and all the children enjoy being there - which is all you want from a nursery really!

My high praise for this nursery starts from the top. The management has a clear vision of what it needs and wants to achieve and most importantly this is fed down and through to every level of staffing and care. My two children have been allowed to develop both together and independently. Communication from the nursery is continually improving and our questions have always been answered promptly and appropriately. There is always a friendly face on hand at the start or end of the day. The nursery benefits from ample outdoor space which was important to us. The best recommendation would be from the children themselves, who bound down the path and back again each day they are at nursery.

My two boys have been at Shepherds since it opened in 2010. The staff are amazing and they have gone over and above their duties on many occasions to make the boys feel loved, safe and secure. The boys now attend The Break and they thoroughly enjoy the activities and outdoor space. I would highly recommend Shepherds Daybreak. Many of the staff are long running members (which speaks volumes) and they do a brilliant job and they will always have our support. Thank You!
