A very welcoming nursery with friendly staff and children. My granddaughter is always telling me how much she enjoys preschool and the games she plays. She will miss her preschool when she leaves to go to big school. I have spoken to other parents when I have collected her recently and they have all
said they will miss this nursery very much.

Daybreak Nursery Rickmansworth Shepherds Lane is a very lovely nursery. The carers have been excellent with my son who has had a few extra physical needs and they have actively participated in his development - they genuinely care about his progress. He eats and sleeps well at nursery and is happy to
be handed over in the morning. The nursery has a wonderful garden! I highly recommend.

My daughter has been attending Daybreak Nursery for about six months and we couldn't be more impressed. The staff are incredibly warm, friendly and attentive, encouraging personal development amongst the children with written plans that are monitored and updated regularly.
The staff use the app to
provide regular updates on what the kids are up to, and we're always provided with a full rundown of their day on pickup (including their activities, meals, sleep, and - in our case - potty training). We're always impressed at how detailed the handoff is each day considering how many children they are to look after!
The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and despite recently moving from another country our daughter settled in very quickly and absolutely loves her days at nursery. She particularly loves the large outdoor space with its pirate ship climbing frame, mud kitchen, sandpit, reading teepee (I could go on).
I couldn't recommend Daybreak Shepherds Lane more highly. Thank you!

Although this review is for the last twelve months, we have used Daybreak Nursery for the last six years, using the provision provided for both our children.
It's local and extremely convenient. The staff, especially our daughter's key worker, are excellent. She has provided our daughter with love,
compassion and respect. We have been impressed with the relationship that has been built up with our daughter, knowing how she ticks and how to develop her further. We are very lucky to have had some wonderful staff members during this time who have shown the same level of care. Daybreak is a great place and it is the staff that makes it what it is and sets it apart from all the others.

Our little one has been attending Daybreak Nursery for the last eight months and loves it. We literally have to drag her away every evening. The educators are really engaged with the children, the security measures are reassuringly strict and the outdoor space is phenomenal. We've moved house recently
and will still do the hour round trip (walking) to keep her at such a brilliant nursery.

Our first child came to Daybreak Nursery for four years. We have now chosen Daybreak for our second child as we were so happy with the care given. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy spending time with the children and really get to know their individual personalities. There's an emphasis on fun and on
child-led learning, which suits our family philosophy. Our children have both loved free play in the outside play area, which is a very valuable asset to this nursery. The food offered is diverse and has been popular even with my fussy eater! They have been brilliant at observing my child's allergies.

My child has come on leaps and bounds since starting with the nursery earlier this year. The dedication the staff have to the children is incredible and are always on hand to answer any questions you have. They send updates during the nursery day along with pictures. A fantastic setting that we both
love! We looked at many other settings prior to Daybreak Nursery and this is by far the best setting.

We started our daughter at Daybreak Nursery in December, we were moving childcare providers and needed a new one quite urgently. Daybreak took our daughter on within the week, made us feel at ease with the transition and helped with all of our concerns and queries.
The communication and help we have
received from Daybreak has been outstanding and we cannot recommend them enough. We know our daughter is cared for whenever she attends, comes home exhausted (from all the fun and activities) and well-fed!
During these uncertain times, we have felt very safe and secure knowing the nursery is going above and beyond to keep all parents up to date with all communication and all the children as safe as they can.
We would highly recommend and we have even extended our daughters attendance - moving from 2 to 3 days a week as she loves it so much.

Our daughter has been in Daybreak for just over a year. She loves it and dashes in each morning with barely a backward glance. The staff are so caring and warm, who really care about the children. They seem to know the names of all the children, even if they are in different rooms. The outdoor spaces
are fantastic and are currently having a wonderful makeover. The managers are all terrific and set the tone for the nursery. Even during the pandemic, their communication was great and the protocols they put in place to reopen were very thorough and reassuring. Thank you to you all, you're a fantastic team.

My son came into their preschool group after we moved into the area from another nursery. He adjusted very easily and always enjoys going. The staff who take care of the children always seem to be in a good mood and attentive to the children. My son enjoys all the activities they put on during the day
and the staff make an effort to do different things each day. The facilities are very good- large space for the children both indoors and outdoors, especially outdoors with a good size play area and toys for the kids to play with. The food menu which is served also seems to be of good variety and healthy.

Highly recommend: my son started here just before he turned one and had been at the nursery for just under a year before the lockdown happened. The staff have always been professional, friendly and caring and their communication perfect. My son struggled to separate from me to start with but the team
were so caring and kind that I felt absolutely fine leaving him with them. They were so patient with him as he took a while to settle but their efforts paid off and he soon loved being there. They really got to know him so well and always catered to his interests and needs. He has missed nursery so much while being off over the Covid period. Communication from the nursery has been great throughout this time too and if I was not currently able to keep my son at home, I would be fully confident to put him back at nursery with the current risk assessments etc they have in place. This is a lovely, nurturing nursery with a brilliant outdoor area (and they spend loads of time outside too)

My son loves his time at Daybreak. He started in the baby room and has recently moved to the pre-school room and has been happy at every stage. It's so reassuring to see him running in with a smile on his face to be welcomed by the team who I know will take such good care of him while I'm at work. I
would highly recommend Daybreak Shepherds Lane to any local parents. The staff are so good with the children and keep parents updated and informed with their child's day and their ongoing progress. I really value the photos and updates of what my son has done during the day on the app.

I am so happy with Daybreak, I will be sad when my son leaves in September for school which also means my daughter needs to change nursery (due to logistics only). The staff are always there to help, on the phone, email and face to face. The outside area is so lovely and big for them to explore. The
app is a great way to see what the children have been up to in photo form. I can’t thank Daybreak enough.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Daybreak Nursery in Rickmansworth Shepard Lane. My daughter has been there since she was 9 months old and loves it and all the staff. I chose the nursery mainly for the outside space as she loves being outside. The staff have supported both myself and

This nursery is great! I left my 6 month year old there when I started back at work. Directly, the staff made me feel I could trust them with my son. He gets lots of cuddles there! He has developed so so much in the last months, it's incredible! The nursery staff make him do things I would never have
the time or energy to do! He's interacting with other kids his own age and older, it's just great!

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.430)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.430) out of 10 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.792 for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.792
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.638 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Shepherds Lane Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 number of registered child places is 15.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 15.2 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

I have worked at Daybreak since 2015 starting as a student while completing my level 3 nursery nurse qualification. I then went on to become the room leader of the preschool. Throughout my years of experience, I have developed my knowledge in Special Educational Needs work, supporting children to reach their individual next steps and building partnerships with outside agencies.
In 2018, I started my BA Hons degree in early childhood studies which I proudly graduated in 2021. Taking on a degree while working full-time taught me skills which I find very useful today. It has given me a wider knowledge and awareness of early years, discovering new ways to enhance children’s learning and understanding of how early brain development is influenced.

In 2021, I became a deputy manager at one of our other nurseries in High Wycombe. When I heard that the deputy manager position had become available here at Daybreak, I jumped at the chance of coming back, now becoming the nursery manager.

I am very fond of Daybreak; it was the nursery I attended when I was younger. It has been such an amazing journey seeing the transformation of this wonderful setting. The changes to the nursery environment and the way the children have adapted have been truly inspiring. My aim is to create an outstanding nursery setting for the children.
The staffing team here are incredibly fond of the nursery too. They also inspire to create of a warm, welcoming environment in which the children are able to thrive. They make the nursery feel like a home away from home feeling for both the children and the families.
