Situated in Jesmond and recently fully refurbished in 2018, the nursery offers exceptional care to babies and children aged from six weeks to five years.

This beautiful property has been fully modernised whilst retaining all its glorious original features creating a nursery with Tynemouth’s unique homely feel.

With four main base rooms and an enclosed large outdoor area, the highly qualified staff team provide quality care and education for all of the children.

The nursery is proud to have the prestigious Millies's Mark accreditation awarded in 2018, having this award demonstrates the nursery's commitment to going above and beyond the minimum requirements for keeping children safe.

All staff working directly with children not only hold a paediatric first aid certificate but are also competent in how to apply this in practice.

The nursery also offers lots of extra activities such as French, football, yoga and sing and sign. With a fully qualified early years teacher, digital learning books, state of the art secure door entry system etc., this nursery has so much to offer.

The staff always go above and beyond to help the children settle in and feel welcomed and loved at the nursery. The activities they do are so varied day to day and week by week. Both of my children have developed in confidence and have learned so much since going. It is a lovely nursery with such a

We couldn’t recommend Tynemouth Nursery at Jesmond enough, the staff are wonderful and we are so pleased we chose this nursery for our son. From the first morning drop off, we were instantly put at ease and our son loves every minute with the staff and other children. There is such a great range of
activities and variety for the children throughout the day and you can keep up with it all on the parent log in too.

I would highly recommend this nursery. My daughter has been here since she was 9 months old and has been extremely happy here from day one. She is always enthusiastic to go on a morning and tells me all about the exciting activities she has been involved in during the day. The children have some great
opportunities to take part in such as piano lessons, French, tennis etc. I always feel relaxed while I’m at work as I know she is in great hands! The staff are first class and the care and affection the children are given is second to none. The parent app we have access to is great, we get to know the meals the children have during the day (which are delicious I’m told!) and the amount they have eaten. There are often photos on to show snippets of what they have been up to that day and the weekly round up newsletter gives a fantastic insight into what has been happening that week. Great communication from the nursery and extremely well led and managed.

My granddaughter absolutely thrives in this nursery in her own little age group! She’s come on leaps and bounds and it’s thanks to the dedication from staff members. The staff are friendly in a way where they are genuinely nice and want to know about “your day”.

A fantastic nursery. The staff are unbelievably caring. My little girl has settled in very quickly. They get a good variety of food and snacks. Lots of extra activities such as companies coming in with animals, music lessons. They do lots of messy play, song time, baking. I would highly recommend this

Our two kids recently started at Tynemouth Jesmond and the staff have been brilliant. Our boy, 21months, now runs up the path and dances in excitement. Our little girl (nearly 4) comes home with new skills most days. Her letter recognition and writing (mostly wiggles but increasingly deliberate) has
really come on and she has grown in confidence. Most importantly, they both talk about their room leaders and friends all the time! They loved the pony visit for Christmas and are learning so much about the world they live in. We couldn't be more grateful to the staff for their love and care, especially under complex circumstances.

We recently moved to Newcastle and hence were worried about how our daughter will be settling in the new nursery with new staff etc. but I was really surprised to see her so excited to go back to nursery in the next morning, all thanks to the very warm and welcoming staff who made her comfortable from
day one. She is always greeted by a smiling face at the door. I can go to work every day completely satisfied that my child is in the best care! She loves the variety of activities and making friends. At the end of every week, the staff shares a "Highlight of Your Week" email which fills me in on what she's been doing the whole week which I really appreciate. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, any questions I have they are always willing to help me. All round, great nursery, I would definitely recommend to other parents.

Our daughter started nursery at 10 months and she absolutely loves it there. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and you can tell they really care about the children and their well-being. Our daughter gets very excited to be dropped off which gives us such comfort and peace of mind, knowing she’s
enjoying her days in nursery. The updates on the portal are extremely informative and show all the activities they take part in which is brilliant to see. The staff seem to go above and beyond with knowing details about our little girl and making sure we’re happy with everything too!

My daughter is so happy with the nursery, she is speaking English since she started. Also, I think the activities are amazing for her development. I visited so many nurseries before I had a choice, and I think that was the best thing that I did for my family. Because we can work in peace our daughter

Fantastic nursery. Staff are all lovely and go above and beyond. Our smallest had come home on Friday without his cuddly dog which he sleeps with, I noticed but just decided to leave it until Monday. We received a phone call just after the nursery closed from a staff member who had found the dog and
offered to drop it home on her way home. She really went above and beyond and our boy went to sleep happily cuddling his dog.

My daughter has now been attending this nursery for nearly two years. The growth in both her character and learning has improved significantly, and she continues to thrive every day. The staff are all brilliant with her, and I know that she is receiving the best possible start to her education. Both

Very friendly nursery with great attention to children’s developmental needs. A wide variety of skills and activities are explored. My daughter loves it, and clearly wishes I could do as much with her at home. The staff are approachable and have helped my daughter to settle back in after an extended
period of time away. They have taken great steps to maintain a safe environment during the covid pandemic, and I am grateful to their continued dedication to remaining open, which has been a lifeline for us. A huge thank you to all the staff.

Very good nursery with amazing staff. I have two kids who joined the nursery for around 2-years, and they are still there. My kids always enjoyed going to the nursery, and the staff were always helpful. As a mother, I really like this nursery, and I always recommend it to my friends.

My little boy started Tynemouth Nursery just over 6-months-old. I had concerns about him being so young, but he has settled so well thanks to the dedication of the staff there. They have supported me in breastfeeding, and would regularly update me about how my son was getting on with phone calls during
the very early days. The two girls (and previously another one) clearly make the Caterpillar room such a happy place to be as he is always so happy to be handed over in the mornings (and happy when he comes home!). We love seeing everything he gets up to through his learning book. Thank you for all your hard work, especially during this time!

Our first daughter started at this nursery in Feb 2019, and we instantly knew we had made the right choice, the staff are exceptional, we felt confident and reassured every time dropped her there.


We receive excellent verbal and written communication at all times from all the staff that have worked

with our daughter. As first-time parents, we were obviously nervous about leaving our child with anyone, but the love and care the staff give to all the children in their care is second to none. Our little girl adores nursery and runs through the door without so much as a backward look at us.


One of the biggest things I noticed was that every member of staff knows the name of seemingly every child in the nursery, despite the children being split across four rooms, it really shows how committed the staff are to the children.


Our girl wouldn't be what she is today without their support and input, and we are exceptionally grateful for that.


Our second daughter starts next month (good luck).

We are now sending our third child to nursery and again chose Tynemouth nursery. It’s a really friendly place, many staff are still the same 8 years after we sent our first child which is great.
The team do a great job, really get to know the children and help them develop in their early years.

Great school, great teachers. Good to see the children get on and all well behaved. Can see the teachers and parents have a good relationship, have seen my grandson come on so well, his talking, his nature and see how happy he is to go into his nursery every day. He always says he’s enjoyed it and how
much fun. So happy we picked this nursery he enjoys his food as he is very picky and he eats here as fussy at home, so that is a bonus and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have used Tynemouth Nursery at Jesmond since September 2018, my son was just 2 years old when he started and within a month his speech and interaction with all the children were brilliant. Staff were brilliant with my son when we started potty training. The meals are fantastic, all homemade good food.
Also, there are plenty of activities going on each week and the staff are brilliant.

Tynemouth nursery in Jesmond has provided a safe, nurturing and lovely environment for both our daughters - I cannot recommend this nursery enough.
My eldest daughter has just left and has thoroughly enjoyed her time there and my youngest daughter also loves it.
It is very reassuring to know they
are being so well looked after by the wonderful staff they have there.

Lee has over 20 years experience in childcare, with more than half being as a Nursery Manager here at Tynemouth Nursery at Jesmond. She is qualified to level 4 in childcare and is Health Advocate trained by the Better Health at Work Award Scheme.


She is a Mum herself and has 2 young children. She prides herself in providing outstanding childcare alongside an amazing, longstanding team who always go above and beyond for all children and their families. Together, they create a home from home feel, helping families to feel at ease and giving children the best possible start in life.
