Smiley Stars Nursery - Crosshill

Incredibly happy with the care that my son receives at Smiley Stars. There's an excellent range of activities that he does, the staff is very helpful, frequently updating me and my spouse with information on how my son is progressing. Would definitely recommend it.

Smiley Stars Nursery is fantastic. I always find the staff try so hard to entertain the children with loads of different activities. An example was recently with the Chinese New Year. My son made a Chinese lantern and was given a fortune cookie too. He also learnt how to say Happy New Year in Chinese. I love that all the staff are very caring and try to make the children happy by having all these different things for them to do. I find that this nursery is very accommodating and has helped me with childcare by letting me add and change the days my child attends. I always feel effort is made to accommodate my child’s needs.

Since Smiley Stars has taken over the management of the nursery can see brilliant changes to the building, learning materials and activities for kids. The staff are brilliant so open friendly and loving towards the kids.

My daughter has been attending the nursery for just over a year now, and I have been very happy with the service. There is great communication with staff, who are all friendly and approachable. I would highly recommend it as a great nursery.

We have been very happy with the entire staff at Smiley Stars. My wee one is clearly happy to be dropped off and equally cheerful at pickup. Leaving your child in someone else’s care is always difficult, but I am glad to have the Smiley Stars team looking after mine.

Since Smiley Stars have taken over the nursery, we have seen lots of positive changes, such as improving and updating the playrooms, implementing new security measures and securing outside spaces. My children have been at the nursery since 2019, and all the staff over the years have been wonderful.

I have two children in Smiley Stars, one in the 3-5 room and one in the 2-3 room. The staff there are absolute angels. My son (2) goes one day a week, but he still has a great bond with his key workers, and they have been so supportive of him with potty training. My daughter (3.5) has been going three days a week since the funding kicked in, and she has come on in leaps and bounds in that time. She can write her name, sing a million different songs and comes home telling me all about her friends and what they have been playing and learning about that day. The ladies take them on trips to the park, drop food at the food bank, and they've been out litter picking too. Outside space isn't massive as the nursery is in a house, but the trips offsite make up for this, and they use the space they have well. Food is pescatarian which took a little bit of getting used to the meat substitute products, but they both come home with full tummies, so can't complain. Overall, very happy with the nursery!

My daughter started in 2021, having been a Covid baby. She was very upset but the staff were patient and accommodating. She thrived while she was there and didn't take long to skip in. They helped with her speech and accommodated her allergies. They were good with allowing day swaps and extra days and I found their location really handy, with plenty of parking and good transport links to the city.

Overall I am really happy, my child is happy as well. They keep the kids occupied at all times learning new games and songs. We are calm because we know that our kid is happy there having fun with friends.

Our son has attended Mayfield Private Nursery for 6 months. We found the registration process simple yet comprehensive and he settled in very quickly. Communication between staff and parents is excellent, the online journals are informative and the new communication function is a welcome addition. All staff are warm, friendly and genuinely care about the children. We feel our son is well looked after and is being supported with all aspects of his development.

Great nursery, the children always have good activities throughout the day which contributes to their learning. The staff are always friendly and happy. The children are always fed well and happy when we drop them off and collect.

I get updates in a daily diary on what they ate, a couple of activities they did and info on naps and nappy changes. I also get pics sent on the app sometimes too which is always nice to see.

The staff are very friendly and creative in making sure the children are happy and content. There is good communication with parents at pick-up about their day. There are also good choices of meals for the children - plenty of variety and large portions. The staff really do take great joy in understanding each of the children's different personalities and needs and having a good relationship with them.

My daughter is always welcome and they are lovey people. Staff are always welcoming telling you about her day and stuff she really enjoys. I'm happy because she comes home every day with a wee smile on her face.

Overall happy with nursery. My child looks forward to going to her nursery. She likes her interactions with other kids and nursery staff. She now goes for 1 full day and she settled very well. We would like to have more 1-2-1 in-person reviews of her progress in the nursery.

Lovely nursery with warm and friendly staff. Our little one enjoys her time there and her confidence has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery. The staff are always open to suggestions and I would totally recommend the nursery.

All three of my children have attended Mayfield. It is a wonderful nursery and the fact that most of the staff have remained the same for the last five years is testament to the lovely atmosphere. They are always flexible and reasonable if I need an extra day and I really appreciate this. Would highly recommend.

I now have my second child in this nursery and she, like her older brother loves it. All the staff are great and provide great care.
