Chuckles is a homely, secure and uniquely situated nursery. Set in an acre of land with half of that dedicated purely to outside play for all ages, it has a country feel yet only two miles from the M4.

The Nursery follows the New Curriculum and believes fully that children should learn through exploration and ensures they have the materials, equipment and surroundings to enable that. Outdoor play is high on the daily agenda and the areas are designed to inspire every age group.

Family run since 1999, attention to detail is important. All rooms are monitored via CCTV cameras (14 in all).

The nursery cook prepares healthy well-balanced cooked meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea time snack in line with Welsh Government Healthy Eating Guidelines.

In December 2023, Chuckles was graded in all six areas following a joint CIW and Estyn Inspection. In June 2024 the Nursery won National Day Nursery Association, Nursery of the Year Wales.

Funding & Fees

Rates are charged at £7.80 per hour.


You can book the traditional morning/afternoon/full-day sessions or to give you more flexibility you can start between 7am & 10am ending from 3pm to 6 pm as long as they are a minimum of 8 hours.


Half-day Rates are £39.00 per session and session times are 8 am-1 pm and 1 pm-6 pm.

My son has been attending Chuckles for two years. He loves it there, sometimes he doesn't want to leave, which is a good sign. They have a fabulous outdoor area, as well as plenty to do indoors. The food is lovely and nutritious, and obviously the children love it. Usually, my son has at least three
plates of dinner! Their rates are very reasonable and the fact they do a term-time contract is the icing on the cake. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend this nursery enough, they are amazing.

My son really enjoys going to nursery. Staff at Chuckles are extremely friendly and helpful. They have a fab menu. Staff is always ready to listen to you and lastly they promote outdoor play which is important for the children.

My children love Chuckles. They told me last week they don’t want to go to school, as they want to stay in Chuckles forever.
I love that the staff understand and want to know more about my children, their likes/dislikes, quirks and personality. They care! I love the regular updates via daily snippets,
meetings and emails.
The homemade food is amazing and staff have encouraged my children to eat a varied, well-balanced diet of food that before they wouldn’t dream of touching. I have even learnt tips and tricks to use at home with them.
I love that we as parents/grandparents can come along and join in organised activities with the children, it is the best idea to help engage in conversations and understand what our children do when at Chuckles.
I love the natural outside space and will never forget the stories about meeting the animals in their 1st week. I love the artwork and the woodwork they come home with and the songs they sing to me or stories they retell. Thank you!

Chuckles is marvellous. It is a child-centred, fun-filled, warm and safe environment where children can explore, play, learn and relax. My little girl adores nursery and we role play things that she does with her much-loved nursery aunties all the time.
I am constantly amazed at all the new things
my little one has learnt from nursery - including Welsh (we are not a Welsh-speaking family), numbers, writing her name, singing lovely songs and the many craft activities she tells me about. Her (and my!) favourite is when mummy and daddy come into nursery for family craft or cooking days.

The nursery has been great since my son started at the end of December. Although he gets upset when dropping him off, the staff are great at settling him quickly and when there he really enjoys himself. The pictures emailed from staff through the day are a great reassurance for us that he is enjoying
his time there. The food menu is varied and seems to be a hit and the outside space at the nursery is fab. We also love the messy play element and so does our son. We like that play is encouraged throughout the day and there is no emphasis on screens/technology.

My daughter has been using this nursery for the past six months. She absolutely loves it here! The team are fantastic, friendly and always able to help and answer any questions I have.
I love that they encourage messy play, outdoor play, reading, singing and dancing with the children. My daughter is

Staff at Chuckles Nursery are extremely friendly and helpful. They are always willing to accommodate requests if possible and have been quick to respond to queries. My daughter has been attending Chuckles for over 2 years and they are absolutely brilliant.
She is only 3 and now able to read numbers, letters and is even speaking Welsh.
The staff are exemplary. They are friendly warm and genuinely care about the children.
The facilities are excellent, the outdoor
space is the best I've seen of any other nursery in the area.
All in all a fantastic place for any child to go!

My son has been in this nursery since he was ten months old and this nursery is absolutely amazing with him. He runs through the door every time it’s time to go in and loves every auntie who works there. My son has additional needs and they work with myself and his father to support him to the best
of his ability. Nothing we ask is too much and they always keep us updated with his progress.
I will be forever grateful to everyone who’s worked with my son at this nursery as they treat him so well and are so amazing with him and have brought him on so much.

Can't praise Chuckles Nursery enough, they have looked after my daughter since she was 6 months old, she has grown in confidence and knowledge since day one. I have every confidence in all the staff and the fact that my daughter is happy to go in every morning.
I am always kept well informed of any
issues or problems, they are easy to communicate with and if I have any concerns or queries, they are happy to take time and discuss these with me. Fantastic nursery, fantastic staff.

The staff have been absolutely fantastic. They are amazing with my little one.
She has had a few issues and with that, the staff/management have been extremely accommodating with putting procedures in place.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was seven months old. I was very hesitant at first about leaving my young baby in the hands of other people but my son absolutely adores this nursery and the amazing staff that come along with it. I receive emails often from the nursery with pictures of
my son which I really enjoy and they also provide a book which they write in at the end of each day to let me know what he got up to, such as activities and sleep times. Very pleased with this nursery and would highly recommend.

A lovely environment for learning and fun for my son. Regular organised parent participation sessions with sport, healthy eating etc. My son enjoys the nursery, even on the days that my son enters the nursery grumpy, he always comes out with a smile. I have always found the staff friendly, approachable
and professional and most importantly very caring towards my son. He is happy and content learning and playing at Chuckles nursery, especially snack time - which he tells me about in great detail!
