Acorns Duffryn in Newport is the perfect place for a child to learn, make friends and have a lot of fun.

Children are encouraged to learn by exploring their surroundings and immersing themselves in inventive play. The nursery provides a fun, homely environment with sensory equipment, books, trikes, a Forest School and a whole variety of other lively activities.

Staff at the nursery work to offer the same high standard of care that they would want for their own children.

Situated minutes away from the M4, the nursery is based in a picturesque Georgian building surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Children aged from one-month-old to five-years-old are welcome to join the nursery which is open Monday to Friday.

Acorns Duffryn is simply lovely. Our daughter has attended since she was 18 months old, she's now 4. She has lovely stories to tell each day and comes home with handfuls of books, crafts and other exciting activities. She adores her key carers (she calls them teachers) and is always happy to spend time
with them. She loves yoga, sports and other additional activities they do. Personally, I feel very comfortable whilst I go to work knowing my girl is safe and loved at nursery.

Our children are thriving at the nursery. It's a calm and very welcoming nursery with caring and wonderful staff. I feel that my children are safe and well looked after. They have already built amazing relationships. I feel the nursery always has my children's best interests at heart. We love this nursery.

Acorns Duffryn have been incredibly supportive to both of our children since they started.
The site is always welcoming, clean, friendly and staff are always approachable. Every day is different with engaging activities and adventures - and forest school especially is a brilliant offering.
They
are always fed well (sometimes will request seconds or thirds!) and enjoy the menu choices.

We have had a really positive experience at Acorns Duffryn. Staff are caring, considerate and sensitive to parents’ needs as well as the children. The settling-in process was great - we felt our little one was getting the best possible chance to familiarise herself with her key workers and the setting.
The nursery environment is always clean, welcoming and homely. We love receiving updates and photographs on the app showing the fun she’s having during her day. The outdoor space is also brilliant with age-appropriate zones and special care is made to help support children to meet their developmental milestones. The artwork and books that are brought home also enable you to feel involved in their nursery day which is lovely - I am looking forward to coming along to the Mother’s Day afternoon tea and craft session! Communication is also great, we are regularly updated via email about any changes or important information and managers are always available.

Acorns Dyffryn is in their own league as a nursery provider. I wouldn't be able to find a bad word to say. The building is beautiful and always well-maintained and clean. All the staff are exceptional. So kind and caring and genuinely believe they care for them as their own. The menu is miles ahead
of other nurseries, my daughter has eaten such a variety of meals and food due to this. My daughter has developed so much in her time at Acorns. She runs in delighted to see the staff and her friends, who she has such a close bond with. She even waves and knows the names of the nursery staff who don't care for her, which shows the impression the staff make on the children. I couldn't recommend the nursery enough and when she goes to school it will be such a loss to us for her not to attend anymore.

Amazing nursery. Settled our daughter when we were very nervous. Offered extra settling-in sessions and recommended extra time to settle her.
Always have brilliant activities and messy play.
Lovely outside space and babies are taken outside regularly.
Wonderful inside space. Extremely clean and
tidy.
They have a chef, gardener and housekeepers (this means the nursery workers don't have to clean up).
Very communicative and kind staff.
I call each lunchtime on the day my daughter goes in and they're always happy to update.
Now have an app with updates for their day and photos.
She always comes out clean and tidy and all her stuff is kept clean and tidy.
Our daughter always enjoys her food.
More expensive than other nurseries but is worth it.

My little one is coming on leaps and bounds here. Great communication with all staff when I've needed it. Fabulous spaces for all groups. Modern communication for parents to be updated at all times on activities. One of the best in the area.

I viewed quite a few nurseries when my son was needing to attend and Acorns Duffryn was our favourite by far. The cosy, large house setting with separate rooms for each of the different groups was much more preferable to us than the other nurseries that just had one giant room with a separation in between.
Another amazing feature was the chef on-site! We were amazed at the menu and variety of food all the children were exposed to. My daughter now attends, from 7 months, and there was no hesitation in us putting her in here as the staff are so lovely and professional, the children do so many fun activities and I feel my son is getting very well prepared by them to start school in September.

My daughter started here a few months ago and is excelling. She adores all the staff and is very happy and content here. They do a brilliant job.

I have been really impressed with Acorns Duffryn Nursery. It’s such a big decision to trust your child to the care of strangers following maternity leave and the staff at the nursery have been amazing. My son attends Blossom group and he has been thriving since attending. His key workers are brilliant
and clearly care very much about the work they do. The communication between the nursery and home is fantastic, all staff within the nursery are approachable and they offer a variety of activities and sensory play to keep little ones engaged. If I have ever had any queries/concerns about my son they are very responsive and will follow up any routine changes in nursery to provide consistency. The facilities are great, it really does put your mind at peace to know that your child is being well cared for. More recently we have had an opportunity to keep up to date through an app which has worked really well, particularly the learning logs and pictures.
Would highly recommend the nursery.

My son has attended Acorns Duffryn since August 2023. After visiting a few nurseries in the local area I am so pleased we chose Acorns Duffryn. All the staff were welcoming on this visit and his settling sessions and continue to be each day he is there. I can’t thank the staff enough for their amazing
work with all the children. My son found attending nursery difficult in the first few months having been at home with me for the first 12 months but each day the staff were so kind and caring, he now walks in with no worries and has the best time while he is there. I would recommend Acorns Duffryn to anyone who is looking for the perfect nursery. Thank you all for your continued amazing work and the support you provide not only to the children but to parents/guardians too.

My daughter has attended Acorns since she was 6 months old, she is now 3 years old and she loves nursery and has attended full time. She loved all of the staff at Acorns Dyffryn and is super happy to attend nursery every day, some days she doesn't want to leave and wants to carry on playing with all
her friends. Acorns Dyffryn really is a home away from home for my daughter and she loves all of the activities, messy play and especially the garden play. The activities are so well structured and educational, since starting in the Oak group her vocabulary and skills have flourished. She loves the themed activities (especially the Halloween party) and went on about a pumpkin party in the nursery all week. Acorns has been so supportive, compassionate and caring and truly is a fantastic nursery. I know whenever I go to pick my daughter up in the evenings she has had a fantastic day and is always happy and feels at home.

Both my daughters have attended Acorns Duffryn, and I would recommend them every time! My 3-year-old currently attends twice a week. The staff are so friendly and take great care of my little one - I know she's always in the best hands.

My husband and I moved from London to Newport in January of this year. We were really heartbroken to have to move our children from the nursery they loved into Acorns Duffryn to accommodate our move to Wales. We did a lot of research and went on a recommendation to choose Acorns ahead of our move. Acorns
Duffryn has completely exceeded our expectations. Our kids are so happy there and the staff are just simply amazing. Every day I go to collect my children and I have various staff members engaged in conversation, enthusiastically telling me about the children’s day. They do so much with them and all genuinely care about the overall well-being of the children. It is a magical place with magical people, creating a safe and happy place for children.

I’m an aunt of a nephew that attends this nursery; it’s such an amazing place. It’s very clean, with great staff who are very welcoming. My nephew has been attending here for the last nine months, and I couldn’t ask for a better place for him to go.

My daughter went to this nursery from when she was a baby and left for school in January 2023. She loved her time here, and so did I. My daughter flourished at this wonderful little nursery. The care and dedication of all the staff were 110%. I believe wholeheartedly that education has certainly set
my child in good stead for starting primary school when the time came. Thank you to all the nursery staff at Acorns Duffryn.

My son started at Acorns Duffryn seven months ago. From my first visit, I knew it was the right nursery for him. The nursery is welcoming and clean and has such a homely feeling. Our child has recently moved into a new group at his nursery. He absolutely loves everything he does, especially the outdoor classroom, craft opportunities and sensory play activities. Another favourite for him is going to the local park with his friends. All the staff know our child very well and always
provide the best care for him. It is lovely to have regular updates on the app to show us the development stages both academically and socially. Thank you to everyone!

My son has attended Acorns Nursery in Duffryn since he was a year and a half old, and the staff have been nothing but accommodating and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, and they have made his transition into primary education and learning a smooth one. They have helped navigate potty
training and a new sibling with us as a family and have been truly amazing! My husband and I would highly recommend this nursery. Our son loves attending and loves the food and activities and often comes home telling us all about his day with a beaming smile. Thank you, Acorns Duffryn.
