My little boy started at the end of July and he settled in straight away. He really enjoys it and looks forward to going. All the staff are lovely and they make the parents and kids relaxed which is helpful if you are worried about leaving your child. He always has lots of fun and loves to talk and
tell me about his day there, it's like he has always been there. He walks in with a smile and is happy. Thank you from us.

My son has come on leaps and bounds since joining the nursery. His speech and confidence have become amazing with the support of his teachers, they take a lot of pride in their work and it really shows. The staff are fantastic, they go above and beyond for the children also, the parent/carer of all
the children.
Reply from Carolyne Lewis at Tynemouth Nursery at Battle HillThanks very much for your great review. Myself and the staff really appreciate getting such positive feedback.

The nursery have been amazing for my daughter and my son. My daughter has terrible skin and they do everything they can to help with this, they go above and beyond when her skin is really bad. She has already learned so much and come on so quickly thanks to the girls here. I can't thank them enough.

My daughter has attended the Tynemouth Nursery since she was 6 weeks old. I was confident from the beginning that the staff were more than capable of meeting all of my daughter's needs. Leaving a new baby at a nursery is hard for any family, but staff were friendly and gained my trust from the beginning,
they didn’t only meet my daughter's needs, but they also met my needs, eg giving daily updates, photographs of what my child had been doing each day, and also being to call to check at any point and staff are always happy to help.
Staff are caring, empathetic and show compassion to all children they work with. From the baby room up to the preschool, staff have worked with my daughter and helped her develop in many areas.
My daughter is ready for school in September and I will be sad her leaving the nursery, but my expected baby will definitely be attending Tynemouth Nursery when she is born!!
Thank you all.

The staff have been so warm and welcoming, and I have been impressed with their constant new themes and ideas they have to keep the children entertained and brilliant play areas. I feel very confident leaving my child with the staff and my son loves attending the nursery.

My daughter has been in the nursery for almost a year now and she loves every minute. As a very clingy 1-year-old, she very quickly adapted to nursery life and now very clearly gets excited when we are getting ready to go to nursery. The girls make it more of a home environment than a nursery. She has
come on leaps and bounds and is such a social, happy little girl, which I credit a lot to her time there. She has tried some many different kinds of foods, that she refused at home. I'm always hearing of all the different activities they do, painting, sports, loose-parts, role-play, football play to name but a few and the activities are always varied week to week. I couldn't recommend the nursery more and I will tell anybody that will listen, how loving and attentive the staff are. 10 out of 10 for us as a family!

My son now 9 months, has been attending Tynemouth Nursery at Tyne Met now for 2 months. At first, I was apprehensive about leaving him so young but the staff there eased any doubts the first time I met them. They are kind, helpful and my son took to them straight away! He absolutely loves going and
is absolutely thriving, he's learning so quickly, all his meals are cooked from scratch and the menu is amazing. My son attends three days a week and unlike other nursery's I've used in the past for my other children, I can go to work happy knowing he's well cared for, safe and very happy.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Tynemouth Nursery at Battle Hill is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 216 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tynemouth Nursery at Battle Hill is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 number of registered child places is 8.8, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
