With six base rooms for the children along with an imaginary room and large outdoor play area Tynemouth Nursery, recently refurbished and re-equipped in 2018, offers a catalyst of activities to enable children to learn through play and fulfil potential.

I could not recommend Tynemouth Nursery more! My son has now been at the nursery for a year and he absolutely loves going. The staff are all fantastic and I trust them completely to look after my boy. The nursery provides an excellent environment for children to learn, play and socialise with other
children. They have regular visits from external activity groups that the children love and learn a great deal from and the meals prepared by the in house chef really are great. I am so pleased we chose this nursery!

My child was only here a short few months before she started school but she thoroughly enjoyed her time here. Staff were always informative and helpful. She was always full of excitement when we picked her up, telling us of all the fun things she did that day and the yummy food she had been offered!
I was impressed with all the extra activities that this nursery had to offer and that we were kept informed with pictures and information on her daily activities. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone, 5 stars.

My daughter has a complex genetic disorder which requires strict dietary requirements. The nursery initially worked very closely with us to ensure my child would be safely cared for while at nursery. I feel completely relaxed sending and leaving her which we have not felt from anywhere else.
All
the staff take an interest in each individual child and welcome the whole family.
Our child has developed greatly while attending the nursery.
She has experienced so many new activities and we are kept updated and supported.

I am so grateful to all the staff at the nursery, they are so helpful and very flexible with days and times. My son loved going there, they brought him on in so many ways ie friendships, learning a new language, hitting milestones. I was sad to see him leave to start his new adventure in reception.
The staff truly went above and beyond for me and my son.

Our son has loved his time at Tynemouth Nursery. He has really developed since starting 2 years ago. The staff are wonderful, rare to find little turnover, so you get to know them and so do the children. The house and gardens are lovely, and the activities keep the kids happily busy. Cooking, yoga and
French have been highlights. Nursery management is excellent. We couldn't be happier to recommend the nursery.

Our daughter loves going to Tynemouth Nursery. She has learnt so much since being there and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The additional activities they run, such as sing and sign and Jittabugs are also excellent.

I have to say my wife and two girls have experienced only good things at Tynemouth Nursery. My four-year-old will be moving to school in September and all of her activities at nursery have made her confident to get started and meet other children. Our two-year-old has all of these activities ahead of
her, and I would not want to miss them. The staff are devoted and well trained and in my opinion, have gone beyond what is expected. A wonderful nursery.

All of our children have attended Tynemouth Nursery and we have always been extremely pleased with the care provided. Each of our children have had great fun whilst learning and have made good progress over the years, academically and socially. The key workers support the children brilliantly and we
have always found everyone who has looked after our children to be friendly and approachable. The Nursery provides a relaxed and homely environment which is exactly what we were looking for when choosing childcare for our children.

Tynemouth nursery is fantastic! Both of my boys have attended since they were 10 months old and I honestly feel as though the staff love them like their own. The whole team are so friendly, welcoming and professional and I would never hesitate to entrust them with my children. The facilities are excellent
and the nursery has a real homely feel about it which no other nursery offered. Activities are well structured and educational and the boys love the external activities offered by visiting companies. The food is always fresh and varied and I am impressed at what they put away in comparison to what they eat at home!
My eldest is coming to the end of his time at Tynemouth nursery and I thank staff for helping me raise the polite and confident boy he is today. I had originally planned to move my youngest for logistic reasons but unfortunately, no other nursery compares and (with a little help) we are leaving him at Tynemouth so he can have the same wonderful experience as his brother.

I love the way all of the staff care for our baby. They're genuinely loving and honest with us. Everything I've asked about has been addressed and I'm so pleased at the way she's settled when I thought she wouldn't! That is thanks to the love they've shown her. They constantly put my mind at rest and
nothing seems too much trouble. I like that it is a small nursery but doesn't lack facilities. I like that there are just a few staff that we see all the time. The handovers are informative and precise and all the staff know everything that's she's done. I've never heard 'oh I don't know' when I've asked anything about her day. We LOVE the online learning journal too. The sing and sign is an excellent opportunity for our baby and the home made meals. It isn't a glamorous nursery, but it's very homely and the staff are superb. We're very happy. I recommend this nursery.

Friendly, welcoming with good feedback on child development. Always a nice atmosphere, with pleasant surroundings. Staff team always approachable. Structured activities, regular updates, accessible. Nice garden area to play out in - although a grassy area would be nice. Plenty of indoor activities
and occasional trips outside of the nursery are also provided (great for exploring the wider world) - the latter can be more of a challenge to organise, so I am aware that there might be restrictions on how many can be reasonably undertaken, but I do think that they are an important part of child development. It's a great place for my child to be, I have seen him grow in confidence and learning. He has established good relationships with the staff team and has made quite a few good friends amongst his peers along the way as well. We shall all miss the place once he moves onto school in September

My son is coming to the end of his time at Tynemouth Nursery and I will be sad to say goodbye. He has had the best time, and two of the ladies have cared for him since day one, meaning that we had consistency with his carers. I feel happy every day to leave him as I know he is having the best time.

Joanne Gallagher

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2018

My childcare journey began in 2018 as supply staff, before becoming a full-time practitioner and then a room leader in 2019. In 2022, I joined Tynemouth Nursery Group as Preschool Room Leader, progressing to Deputy Manager in 2023 and now Nursery Manager.


The most rewarding part of my role is seeing children grow in confidence and independence every day. I’m passionate about creating a nurturing environment and supporting families throughout their journey with us.


I recently completed Mental Health First Aid training, recognising its importance for children, staff, and parents alike. Outside of nursery life, I love spending time with my little boy and enjoying weekends with family or at the gym.
