Childsplay Claremont Nursery Cooperative Ltd is a fantastic nursery and it was the best choice to move our child from a different nursery in town to this one. Most importantly our child loves this nursery and settled in very well. She’s looked after so well and bonded with all the lovely staff in her unit. The initial days of settling in that are offered free of charge, helped immensely and made me feel more relaxed about my child’s settling in. Other nurseries that we know don’t do that and this is certainly something to appreciate. The Childsplay Claremont Nursery Cooperative Ltd manager is the most lovely and helpful lady and the nursery is a very happy and welcoming place. The long list of awards that they have received is just a validation of their fantastic work. Other benefits are that they provide mostly organic food, fantastic quality nappies, wipes provided which is not standard in other places and have very reasonable fees which are secondary to the fact that I trust that my child is well looked after. Ten out of ten.
My daughter has attended Childsplay Claremont Nursery Cooperative Ltd since the beginning of the year. The nursery has been incredibly welcoming in this time and fosters a real community spirit. My daughter is visibly excited to attend and has formed a brilliant bond with her primary carer and the other members of staff who work in her unit. They show genuine interest in who she is as a person and her development. The philosophy at the heart of Childsplay Claremont Nursery Cooperative Ltd isn't merely a slogan but a tangible culture that's evident from the smiles, laughter and happiness that fill the place. I feel incredibly lucky that my daughter is able to attend.
The manager of the nursery is regularly seen on the floor within the nursery setting and integrates herself with the parents whilst they drop off and collect their children.
We could not be happier with Childsplay Claremont Nursery Cooperative. Our son has been here since he was 6 months old and he runs in every day. He absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing - so caring, friendly and provide such a happy and fun environment. Recommend 110%.
The environment is fantastic for learning and we consider that this has given our kids a great start and an advantage over those attending other nurseries. This is magnified when leaving for school is considered, as we feel the nursery has great facilities and sets up the kids to exceed what is expected of school starters.
The nursery also has a keen focus on outdoor play, trips and forest school which the kids love. The outdoor garden facilities are also excellent.
We would not hesitate to strongly recommend the nursery to others and often do so.
I would stress that I am not one to normally provide faultless reviews but in this case, I do not hesitate to say the place is top class!
Both my children love going to nursery and the relationships they have developed with all the staff (including those outside their primary caregivers, such as chefs and office managers, etc.) make it so easy for me as a parent to entrust them with my children's welfare and development. As their interests have developed the staff are so attentive, flexible and eager to adapt how they interact with my children (and their friends) to help them develop their interests and skills.
Added to this Childsplay's Forest School offering is so innovative and I cannot recommend it highly enough. There's no bigger smile on my child's face after a day spent outdoors learning all about the environment and how they can interact with it.
Though I've never experienced anything different for my children, I don't take for granted how lucky I am as a parent to have the staff at Childsplay looking after my children.
My first contact with Childsplay was 3 years ago when my first child started in the baby unit. Since then she has moved up to preschool while my youngest has just transitioned to toddlers. Both children are very happy with the care and love they receive from all the staff. They are all super professional and loving. All staff, including kitchen and admin staff and management, know my children's names, what they like and which unit they are at. They also know us as parents and they are very responsive to our needs. Safety is big in this nursery and ratio per child is small. I love the fact that mobiles are not allowed in the rooms so you know that the main focus, while the children are in the nursery, is their well being and natural development free of technology. I know that when my children are in Childsplay they are in good hands and I cannot recommend them enough.
Childsplay is a fantastic nursery which has the well-being, happiness and flourish of every child at the heart of their approach. Staff bond with the children and allow them to go on adventures which help them achieve their potentials whatever they may be. My children love Childsplay and see it as their second home and staff as their extended family. The outdoor activities, the forest school and various visits are another high point of the nursery. Above all, it is Childsplay's commitment to help our children grow to be independent individuals who can think and invent and believe that nothing is impossible when they put their minds to it that makes this nursery top quality.
- Knowledge of staff and help in sorting out issues and answering concerns about my son.
- Range of activities provides for the development of my son
- The way the nursery is run as a business (opening hours, costs, facilities, etc.)
We have two children who attend Childsplay, the first of whom started in 2017. Both of our children are very happy at the nursery and confidently leave us each morning. We have always been extremely impressed by the professional staff and the facilities. We feel there is a real sense of community at the nursery and it feels like we are leaving our children with friends each day. We have no worries regarding the care they receive and we are always amazed by the daily activities on offer. We could not recommend Childsplay highly enough to anyone considering sending their children there.
Our daughter has attended Childsplay since she was nine months old and is now four years old. We have been extremely happy with the nursery over this time, all of the staff have been very attentive and caring towards our daughter and she has formed some lovely relationships with key carers. The range of opportunities available to the children, particularly in later years, exceeds expectations and enriches their development. I just hope our daughter enjoys school as much as her nursery years.
We have two daughters currently attending this nursery and I can't recommend it enough. The staff are fantastic; really caring and interested in the children. Even the manager, office staff and cook all know the children by name and chat to them each day. The nursery has a great approach to learning and they adapt each day to what the children are interested in. My youngest is into food preparation at the minute so the nursery is organising a teddy bears picnic and letting them make their own sandwiches. My eldest is doing lots of engineering things and learning how things work. She loves forest school and is trying to teach me Spanish! I love picking them up and hearing what they've done each day. They really enjoy their time there and I think that's the best indicator of how fantastic this nursery really is.
Our son has been at Childsplay since 10 months old and loves it. The staff (from cleaners to management) are fantastic and very friendly and engage brilliantly with every child as individuals. They frequently go above and beyond what I would expect to ensure parents are closely involved and well informed and that there is continuity between the home and nursery environment. The facilities (indoors and outdoors) are lovely and there is a wide range of play activities and resources available, even for the youngest babies. My son's multiple allergies have been handled really well throughout his time there, with both carers and kitchen staff going out of their way to ensure he is both protected and included as much as possible. I would recommend the nursery to anyone without hesitation and look forward to seeing how he continues to grow and develop in his remaining time there.
Sending my daughter to Childsplay has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It is a very special place, run as a non-profit co-operative with all profits invested back into the staff and nursery and it shows. The child-centred heuristic learning techniques have seen my child flourish in her confidence and learning and the staff genuinely love and care for the children and provide a safe loving environment for them to grow. My daughter loves it there, she has never been unhappy about being left and enjoys every day. I receive a daily diary of all her activities and am always amazed at how varied and stimulating her days have been. There are on-site cooks, the food is fantastic and the children experience a lot of outdoor play which was important to me in choosing a nursery. The nursery has just been rated outstanding by Ofsted in every category and anyone with children there will be able to tell you why. I could not recommend highly enough - we love being in the Childsplay family.
Childsplay will always have a dear place in my heart. Our daughter started nursery at the age of 2. I was very apprehensive given we had had the luxury of grandparents caring for our little girl prior to this. I can honestly say I could not have picked a better nursery! The opportunities Childsplay offer really are exceptional. It has been incredibly rewarding watching our child develop and grow into the inquisitive articulate happy little girl she is today. Our daughter loves going to nursery which is a direct reflection of the care and support she has received from day one. My only sadness is knowing this will be our daughters final summer at Childsplay before leaving to attend school in September. As our family expands, we hope to be able to give our new bundle the same start as our first child! I could not rate this nursery highly enough!
The nursery started this process with a series of 'baby socials' so that we could become more familiar before the induction process. This proved to be extremely helpful as we grew to know our son's key carer and the wider team. Since we have been through the induction process of gradually increased contact time, we have been so pleased to see our son grow in confidence and enjoy his time in this nursery environment.
I cannot speak highly enough for the way the nursery has supported us throughout this important transition. After our initial visit to select a nursery, we were immediately taken with the atmosphere, culture and educational principles of Childsplay. I am happy to report they surpassed our initial expectations and we are delighted our son will grow and develop here in this community!
I did not hesitate to send my daughter to Childsplay following numerous work colleagues raving reports about it being a fantastic nursery and which has lived up to expectations in every way. Childsplay provides a wonderful inclusive learning through play environment with personal care and attention given to every child. The range of facilities and activities offers plenty of stimulation and development of children's specific interests, skills and confidence. The nursery has greatly brought on my daughter's conversation which is noticeably advanced for her age. The outdoor play facilities are excellent providing a wide range of physical and mental challenges, which was unexpected in a city centre nursery. My daughter has also loved attending Forest school in 3-4's and now preschool. One of the best things about Childsplay is also the staff who are always friendly, caring and really engage with the children. My daughter can't wait to get to nursery every day which I think says it all.
As loving Grandparents, we can only say we have been amazed, delighted and so grateful for the four years he has had at Childsplay Day Nursery. He is leaving to begin his school life as a confident and well-grounded boy who has been given the perfect start at this marvellous nursery,
We cannot praise all those involved at the nursery enough for all they have done for him. The dedication and quality of them all is of the highest standard. If you are lucky enough to find a place at Childsplay for your child/Grandchild then you can rest assured they will have the best possible start.
It has been a very happy experience.
He has learned so much, becoming a confident and knowledgeable little boy.
He couldn't have had a better start in life.
The staff are professional and caring in equal measure and really know the children and nurture their interests and personalities. The ethos is fantastic and encourages personal development.
From day one, things were tailored to his needs, with a settling in period of up to a week, going as fast or slow as was suitable for him.
There is a recognition that, as working parents, we are not always able to drop everything when our child has the slightest sniffle or temperature, so where they can, they will keep kids in nursery. Certainly different from other nurseries my friends have used.
The only downside is the lack of flexibility regarding swapping or changing days (which can make career progression tricky) but that is the flip side of having an excellent and therefore fully subscribed nursery.
