Bright Horizons Moortown children's day nursery, to the north of Leeds, is a friendly and exciting environment that children will enjoy. It offers high-quality care and education for babies from 3 months to children aged 5 years.

The low-level furniture allows the children unrestricted access to a wide range of resources and activities, and the playrooms are structured in such a way as to promote each child's independence, along with their decision-making and problem-solving skills.

The garden includes an all-new “No Mo” soft play flooring, new outdoor equipment, mark-making tables, refreshed specific baby area, activity sheds, climbing equipment.

Once a family registers, they work closely with them to structure their child's bespoke settling-in session. Each child is allotted a key person to ensure consistency throughout this process. Each child’s key person builds strong bonds with their key children, following their individual care routines and providing for their holistic needs.

This approach enables them to ensure every child's learning and development is focused on preparation for life beyond nursery. They follow the 'early years foundation stage' programme so that all the activities provided meet children's developmental age and stage targets through activities geared to their interests.

Moortown are pleased that from 1st September, the all-inclusive nursery fees at Moortown will be at a new lower rate.

The warm, friendly and attentive team of Bright Horizons, Moortown are what puts this nursery on a different level from all the others. The staff really care about each of the children's needs, abilities and what they like to play with and do, creating unique activities for the children each week. The
team are always happy and available to have a chat with parents when needed.

We love Bright Horizons, Moortown. Our son has been attending for six months now and has settled really well. It's small and the staff are really friendly. They obviously have clear policies and procedures they follow, though this was not always communicated clearly when we started, but staff are always
happy to answer questions.
The kids eat a variety of food at mealtimes, no snacks. They have an app, but do not post pictures of what they do on a daily basis, but you get information on when they've slept, eaten and had a nappy change. Our key point of contact in the rooms hasn't changed and has been really consistent, which has been great for our son to build relationships, but I noticed that other staff members have changed or they have had some agency staff. They have just refurbished and the nursery looks great! The outside space is a little small, especially for under 2's, but they do well with the space they have and are often in the garden!

My daughter started at Bright Horizons in October 2021. The management and staff working with my daughter gave me nothing but reassurance during the settling in sessions and considered my feelings as well as my daughters. My daughter has grown greatly in confidence even with only attending one day a
week and that is due to the outstanding care she receives. The staff follow her individual interests and provide activities throughout the day that she shows an interest in, making their planning spontaneous and adaptable to the children's interests, not only in nursery but from my daughter's interests at home. The staff really do tailor the care and learning to the child as an individual and with being a qualified childcare practitioner myself, I know how important this is to help my daughter learn and Bright Horizons clearly show a strong child-led and child-focused approach. I could not ask for any more from a nursery. I know my daughter is in the best hands!

We have 1-year-old twins at Bright Horizons in Moortown and we couldn't be happier. At first, we were extremely nervous, as it's the first time they'd been to nursery but after a matter of days they were beaming when we dropped them off. The staff have all been excellent and are extremely professional
and personable. We've recommended this nursery to some of our friends who have already started sending their children there too.

Since our daughter started at nursery in January, aged 1, we’ve been really pleased with our choice. We chose the nursery before lockdown, largely due to being impressed by the manager and her team, who are fantastic. The team were really supportive with the settling in process and our daughter quickly
settled in. The nursery is small enough that although there are separate rooms, the staff get to know all of the children, which is something else I really like.
The nursery is really friendly and the staff are very caring and seem happy in their work, keeping us well informed about activities and what our daughter has enjoyed doing.
The children spend plenty of time outdoors and the activities day to day are varied, whilst giving children the chance to focus on things they are interested in. We love it when our daughter comes home saying a new word or having learnt a new skill!
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery.

Both my children attend this nursery, we looked at alternatives that were slightly closer to home but couldn't find another setting that we were as happy with so stuck with this one. I'm so glad we did. My daughter has developmental delays and various additional needs and the management and other staff
have never made me feel like that's an issue, she has integrated really well and loves her days at nursery. I'm very happy with the focus and care she gets and feel totally comfortable leaving her each day.
My son has only been going for a few days but already is clearly enjoying it. I would definitely recommend to other parents.

I do recommend Moortown nursery. My 2 little kids are very happy going to this nursery. Staff are supportive and helpful. They gave my eldest child all the support as he had delayed speech. I noticed massive progress within a few months.

A highly recommended nursery and preschool. In the current climate and uncertainty that we have had during the pandemic, the nursery has adjusted well with all the challenges and ever-evolving restrictions being imposed on them, the staff and attending children.
Our child has attended the nursery
for 3+ years and always looks forward to going back the next day. He’s established some really good friends and relations with the staff. The facilities indoor and outdoor are great and tailored for young children and their evolving curiosity!


An excellent working team who are always so happy, professional and attentive. Can’t praise them enough.
We have another little one on the way and this is the only place we would look to send them.

Lovely staff who have been so supportive of the children during this past year. Especially when our youngest started in the middle of lockdown. Really lovely relationships developed between key workers and the children make us feel like they care about them as individuals.

Both of our children have attended Bright Horizons Moortown Day Nursery and Preschool branch and we have been very happy with the care, nurturing and education they have received in all stages and rooms. We have been particularly impressed with the preschool, feel of the classroom setting, the introduction
to phonics and basic numeracy which is an excellent preparation for school. The extra activities such as tennis and swimming lessons within the local gym have been a fantastic addition.

My son is two and a half years old and has been attending Bright Horizons Moortown Day Nursery and Preschool since he was one. Over this time I have been consistently impressed with the genuine care shown for his well-being, development and happiness, not just by his key workers but by the whole team.
The pandemic obviously brought challenges for everyone with children but the way in which the manager kept us updated with clear, open and honest communication, I am ensured nursery isn't one of the things to worry about. My son absolutely loves going to nursery and is there for four full days each week so it is a lot of hours to be kept entertained. The breadth of activities and creative ways in which they keep him engaged and developing is fantastic. We're now getting into the process of potty training, I feel so supported and that it is a real joint effort between us and his key workers. This is just the latest example of many of how conscious and supportive the team are and the real positive contribution they make to bringing up my son.

Myself and my husband could not have been happier with the love, care and devotion that the staff members have towards the children that attend the nursery and especially our son. Through their hard work, time and affection our son has he is coming from strength to strength in his learning development.
This was the first and last nursery we saw for our son and it was also the one that he chose to explore giving us a relief of security for him. It’s a wonderful, happy environment for him and all the other children that attend bringing the best out of them. I go to work a lot lighter knowing that he is in the best care that we as parents can give to our son. A huge thank you to all the staff at Bright Horizons Moortown Day Nursery and Preschool for the wonderful work they do for our children in their development and making cracking characters of them. My eldest child attended this nursery until she went to school and when we needed a nursery place for my youngest I knew that we wanted him to come to the same setting. I have complete confidence in the staff, they are knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. I know that they will keep him safe in
their care. The manager keeps parents informed through regular email newsletters and always responds quickly to any queries. My child always has lots of fun at nursery and there are always a good variety of activities on offer. He has a great relationship with the staff, so much so that he is so excited to go into nursery he often forgets to say "bye"! The staff provide informative feedback about what kind of day he has had, so I feel fully informed about what he has done and what he has eaten throughout the day. The nursery is well resourced with a great variety of equipment. I would highly recommend this setting to any parent looking for high quality childcare from an amazing team.

My eldest child has just left the nursery having been there since the baby room. Each room knew my daughter well, she loved going and did different activities each day but within the same structure. Meals are healthy, and my little girl knows the cook by name, which I think is great! She's off to school
now and is sad to leave her friends and "grown-ups". Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any of my friends or family. The manager is always friendly and answers any queries promptly.

A fantastic nursery with a great atmosphere throughout. My little girl started at the beginning of January and it's like she's always attended the setting. When I pick her up she natters about her friends and what she's done at nursery all the way home. She loves the nutritional meals she is provided
and is happy to see the staff when she arrives. I would definitely recommend the nursery to my friends, based on the fun with my daughter has along with the levels of learning appropriate to her age.

This Nursery has really turned around in the last month or so. Before I felt the care for my 2 children was adequate but not always satisfactory. Since new management has come in, I feel much more reassured and that my two children are happy and being stimulated to a level not before seen. The staff
are helpful and assuring, even if when I drop my darlings off and they are having a bad morning. I feel reassured as a working mother they are in the best care possible. Any queries or concerns I have had regarding my two children have been listened to by the new manager, addressed and I have felt reassured as a parent.

My name is Rachel Finan and I am the Manager at Bright Horizons Moortown.
I have worked here at Moortown since September 2019, however, I have previously worked for Bright Horizons before.
I am a qualified Early Years Teacher and have previous experience managing a Local Authority setting, as well as setting up a Private Day Nursery.
I have over 15 Years experience in Early Years, and I won the ‘Early Years Professional of the Year’ award in 2013 when previously working for Bright Horizons.
My passion for Early Years comes from watching the children we care for grow and develop in a quality and nurturing Early Years setting.
As a mother myself I understand the Importance of high quality provision. I truly love working with Children and Families; being able to share all the wonderful milestones children achieve on a daily basis!
