Nuffy Bear Day Nursery Cottingley is a high-quality early years childcare provision based on the site of Nuffield Health’s Cottingley Fitness and Wellbeing gym. Babies from 3 months to 2 years, toddlers from 2 - 3 years and pre-schoolers from 3 - 5 years are all welcome to enjoy their first-rate facilities and stimulating environments, which provide fun and learning for inquisitive little minds.

The nursery benefits from enclosed outdoor garden, freshly prepared home cooked meals and snacks (special dietary requirement are always catered for), brand new resources, free swimming lessons, free all day parking for nursery parents who may commute to work and a free gym membership with every full-time place.

They accept standard free childcare (15 hours funding) and the extended 30 hours free childcare (funding).

Main Nursery hours 08:00 - 18:00, they operate an early drop off 07:00 - 08:00 service.

I have found the nursery to be friendly and welcoming. The staff are wonderful with the children and my son has flourished during his time here. His confidence has grown and his ability to make friends is evident in his experiences in life. I would highly recommend the facility and will be sorry to
leave for school in September.

Overall very happy with Nuffy Nursery, my son's learning and speech have come on so much since being here. He's learning to become independent now he's moved to the bigger room.

My son has been attending for just over a year, starting in the baby room at 11 months. I feel comfortable with the induction and settling in days. I love reading the records re: my son - very detailed. The meals are healthy and exciting and varied. My son has developed great relationships with all
staff and other children too. He has developed rapidly thanks to Nuffy Bear Day Nursery. Only thing I would prefer is better technology ie app with updates/FB page with pics. However, very happy and would recommend.

My child loves coming to Nuffy Bear, he has been attending for a year now. The staff have supported us through a very difficult year and I couldn't ask for better people to be responsible for the care of my child. He has progressed so well since starting and can feed himself and starting to talk in
sentences and not even two yet.
The best decision I ever made was choosing Nuffy Bear.

My daughter has been going to Nuffy Bear Nursery since she was 9 months old, she is now nearly 2. She loves going, she runs in and is happy to see everybody. The staff are very caring and supportive. My daughter has recently moved up into the next room and the transition has been very smooth. I have

My daughter has been going to the nursery since she was 3 months old (now 1yr old) and she has absolutely loved it. I have always felt comfortable leaving her as the staff are all so caring and lovely and my daughter adores them . Such a safe caring environment.

A really welcoming and stimulating environment for my daughter to learn in. I have been more than happy with the care and attention she has been given during her time here. It is always hard to leave your child in somebody else's care but I have never felt worried about leaving her and my daughter is
always happy and excited to see her 'friends'.

The nursery has recently been taken over by Nuffield itself. As a result, there has been a complete refurbishment of all nursery rooms. This has provided a brighter and more open environment for the children. Nuffield are introducing a focus on children's physical development with their new learning/development
planning and offering sessions such as swimming lessons to pre-schoolers or baby yoga as part of their weekly activity programme, which is great. I believe they are also offering free gym membership to parents of full-time children, which is an added bonus. The environment is stimulating, with continued improvements. Staff have been flexible and accommodating. There is a new focus on providing more nutritional meals (with the input of a dietician). My daughter enjoys attending and receives enough stimulation and learning/development opportunities to keep her engaged and busy. Overall, a promising nursery which is still implementing changes and improvements with the Nuffield takeover.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2004

I have worked in Early Years for the past 18 years. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to work with young people. So when I left school I knew exactly which path I wanted to take. I qualified as a Level 3 practitioner, I found work here in Cottingley and I've been here ever since. I have always been passionate about supporting babies and young children with their learning and developing, paying particular attention to patterns in behaviour and for what each child needs individually to thrive. I love watching the children in our care grow and being a part of that support network for their families.
18 years I have worked at Nuffy Bear previously known as Cottingley Manor and I have enjoyed every minute.
As I progressed through my career I knew that I wanted to share that knowledge I have gained during that time with other practitioners so that together we can achieve great outcomes for all children.
