Bright Horizons Millhouses Day Nursery and Preschool is a purpose-built facility that offers a stimulating atmosphere for children aged three months to five years.

I can't thank the ladies in the baby room (especially our key worker) enough. Leaving our 6-month-old for three days a week was always going to be hard but made much more bearable knowing he was to be so well cared for. The team have supported us with the transition of breast feeding to bottle feeding
and the introduction of food. The positive progress we have seen within a few weeks of being at the nursery is amazing, he continues to smile and show off all his new skills on a daily basis. Seeing the smile on our son's face says it all; he's happy, he's learning and he's being cared for. Thank you to the dedicated and talented baby room team you're fabulous!

We have just enrolled our first born at Millhouses for three full days a week. After viewing a number of nurseries we settled on Millhouses as the facilities looked excellent, staff friendly and professional and it was much more accessible for pick ups and drop offs than others.
No matter how much
research you do, it was still on our mind that we were sending the centre of our universe to somewhere we just didn't know.
I'm pleased to say that the Millhouses team put us completely at ease and made everything so easy. Most importantly they have done such a good job taking care of our son. He has a smile every time we arrive and lights up when he lays eyes on a certain individual.
What is such an emotional time, the Millhouses team has made our journey so smooth and we're happy we chose to place our son here.

Both my children have attended this nursery with my son starting from 10 months old. They have both really enjoyed their time there and the staff were all really fabulous. I decided to keep them in his nursery to do their pre-school as it was familiar to them and I'm glad I did. The pre-school team
really prepared both of them for school which made the transition a lot easier. I would highly recommend this nursery.

After visiting a number of nurseries, when our eldest son was a baby it was clear very quickly that Millhouses was perfect. It is bright, clean, calm and the staff are all so helpful, hardworking and caring. He has had a brilliant four years and was very sad to say goodbye to pre-school and his key
worker this September. Pre-school is so friendly, well organised and fun, he always wanted to go to nursery in the morning and often wanted to stay with his friends when we went to pick him up! Our youngest is now in babies and the quality of care here is excellent too, I have been really impressed with how they have helped him settle in and the attention he receives.

Excellent nursery and very friendly - always have plenty of time for you. All staff genuinely seem to care about your child and often think of different ways to engage the children and assist with their development. It is the wonderful staff at the nursery that make it, their care and dedication to each child is outstanding. The children are excited to attend and look forward to the broad range of activities offered each day. There is always a good story at the end of the day about something fun that they've done.
All of our children have attended this nursery from the age of 1 to school age and we feel that it has given them a super start in life.

My son started here when he was 11 months old and left a few days before his 5th birthday. He loved it, especially his last year in pre school. The pre school staff were amazing with him and he grew very attached to them and quite honestly so did I. He only left a week ago and we miss it already.
The
staff were amazingly supportive and worked with me as a parent to do what was right for my son and help with any needs he may have. It's not easy putting trust in people to look after your child but I couldn't have asked for more. My son has developed so much which gave me confidence when he started school.

Our daughter started at Millhouses Bright Horizons when she was one. She's now three and a half so we have experienced each of the three rooms/stages available at the nursery: babies, toddlers and pre-school. We were impressed from the beginning (despite the nursery's location, which we think is the
only thing that lets it down), particularly with the quality of staff and the very personal care they provide to the whole family. We have recommended the nursery to two friends who now also have their children in the nursery. Our daughter is now in preschool and has a very close bond with several members of staff in the room, and is thriving. We will be very sad when it's time for her to go to school next year!

Both our children have attended this nursery from being 9 months old and they both loved it!
Children always have varied activities and lots of craft and sensory play. They were both kept entertained and engaged at preschool - when it's harder to keep a 4 year old occupied! - and never wanted to leave!
There is some wonderful staff here that truly look after your children.

This nursery was amazing. My daughter was here from 6 months old until she went to school and was very well looked after by all of the staff. I love how much they genuinely care, you are very lucky to have such a great mix of staff, all working together, that makes this nursery special.
I would definitely
recommend to anyone, I wouldn't hesitate. My daughter left, ready and prepared for school.

Both my children have attended the Millhouses Kids Unlimited nursery (now Bright Horizons) and I have been really impressed by the care that has been shown toward my children. The staff work extremely hard and I have always felt very secure that my children are happy and safe at this nursery. The facilities

We are very impressed by the nursery. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to care for the children. Our little boy loves going and talks about his key worker constantly. The food is fabulous and our little boy regularly has seconds! A great place to send your little one!

My son has attended for a couple of months now, to be honest not been the easiest child to settle in :-)
One day a week which to be fair to him can be unsettling but he's slowly settling well. Staff are amazing with him couldn't do more, giving lots of extra cuddles when he's upset, always working
hard to distract him with exciting activities (can't wait for a stay and play session).
I look forward to feedback each week as to what he's been up too, and can usually see from some of his changes of clothes. Fantastic seeing he has so much fun in paint, water and the mud kitchen (he is such a monkey for not wanting to wear an apron).
Even though he's a monkey in a morning at drop off, seeing him running round in an evening not wanting to come home, makes it all worthwhile.

I would just like to thank all the staff at KU Millhouses and particularly the Toddlers team for helping my daughter settle in so well. Before we started the settling in period I met with the nursery manager and expressed my concerns about how my daughter would settle based on her previous experiences
of childcare. They listened and put in place a lovely personalised booklet that my daughter could use at home to talk about the new nursery, her key person and the facilities there. We have had nothing but great experiences with KU Millhouses - it is a joy to see my daughter having a great day at nursery, coming home with lots of art work, being invited to Mother's day tea and all the communications between nursery and home. It has made us all so happy that the change has been so positive and well supported. The resources, cleanliness and whole experience has been 100% - and what really makes the difference is the fantastic welcome from a happy, knowledgeable team. Thank you!

We had a great experience with our little boy in the toddler room. All the staff were very good however our key worker was excellent - extremely committed, very good at communicating with parents and our little boy absolutely adored her.
Lots of creative activities and very supportive of the little
quirks that all toddlers have! We are sad to have to "graduate" to pre-school!

My daughter absolutely loves this nursery. As soon as we pull up outside she starts getting giddy and can not wait to get inside. The team there are great, very caring and look after my daughter brilliantly. It is a relief to find a nursery that she loves and where I am more than happy to leave her,

Jo has been with Millhouses Nursery since it opened in 2003. With over two decades of experience in early years education, she understands how vital these formative years are in laying the foundation for a child’s future.


Jo is passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with families, working closely with parents to understand each child’s individual needs and to create a seamless connection between home and nursery life. She is committed to supporting both children and their families through every stage of the early years journey, while also contributing to the continuous growth and development of the nursery team.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Michelle is the Deputy Manager at Millhouses. Her professional journey began in the NHS, where she worked as a nurse for several years before choosing to pursue a career in teaching when her children were young, a decision that has brought her great joy and fulfilment.


Since joining Millhouses, Michelle has enjoyed spending time in each room, getting to know the babies, toddlers, and preschool children. She already feels at home and is looking forward to building strong relationships with parents and colleagues. Creating a nurturing and collaborative environment is something Michelle values deeply, and she is excited to be part of a team that shares this vision.
