My youngest also started at 12 months, nearly 2 years ago, and also loves her ladies!
I really can't praise Chrysalis highly enough.
I was terrified of leaving my firstborn at nursery the first time, but the baby room is such a warm cuddly cosy place that my fears soon vanished. Both my children had the room coordinator as their keyworker, and were incredibly fond of her.
All the ladies, in all the rooms (and in the kitchen and office!) are such lovely people who obviously enjoy what they do, and really care for the children. And they really listen to you, if you have concerns or requests about your child's care.
Every room has heaps of age-appropriate toys and books, and its own outside space that they really make the most of, and they seem to have endless imagination for activities to entertain and challenge the children.
I'm sure that the environment in the Butterflies room (older toddlers) really contributed to my son's development - his speech and social skills really came on in his time there. They are currently being very supportive of my daughter's first forays into potty training.
When my son first moved up to the preschool room, he didn't want to come home the first couple of times I went to pick him up, because he was having such a great time, and was busy tidying up! He loved every day thereafter, too, especially the fabulous Nativity show, and the day trip to see the monkeys.
The 'graduation' day that they did for the preschool leavers was fantastic. The whole nursery really throw themselves into all the events they do; charity fundraising, dressing-up days etc.
The food is good "home-cooking" but the difference between the nursery's food and actual home cooking is that the children eat the food at nursery!
They have both become confident and Independent children as a direct result of the time they have spent here.
Their learning throughout their time has been second to none with both boys been able to hold conversations at an early age competently.
A good sense of humour has been generously encouraged which only broadens the boys social skills.
They have been allowed to make their own decisions which in turn builds their confidence.
They have different activities each day appropriate to the weather, time of year and promotes all aspects of skills, eg, painting, building, imaginative play just to name a few.
The team show nothing less than complete professionalism in there dealing with the boys and with me when I have collected them. There is always time for you and the boys and nothing is too much trouble.
This nursery has the ability to make it all feel like home, which is just what you want for your child.
If my boys have been under the weather there has always been someone there to give them a cuddle and comfort, I have never seen a child on their own, they are either with children or with a member of staff.
I have always been impressed and from the first time I met the team here five years ago, the standards have been maintained throughout which is nothing but excellent.
I have a third grandchild which will be attending very soon and I have no doubts that he will enjoy every minute.
If you want a nursery which becomes part of your family then this is the nursery for you. My two sons each started the nursery when they were 9 months old and not once have I ever worried about leaving them. The ladies are warm, friendly, caring and look after the children as if they were their own. Each room is tailored extremely well to the children's needs for their ages it is extremely clean, and there is plenty of outside space for the children to run about and play in, in all weathers. I adore picking them up in summer where they can be found on most days out in the garden having a picnic. They have plenty of activities going on to include such things as Chinese New Year, Children in Need, a nativity (this is done by the pre schoolers and you will need your tissues when your little one is in it!!) and Graduation day (more tissues needed!!) The food at nursery is excellent. I am still astounded that the ladies can get my son to eat things at nursery that he wouldn't dream of at home!! Both of my sons have suffered febrile convulsions and the nursery have been excellent in their care when they have had one. When my first had a convulsion and my second was a newborn they went the extra mile with one of the ladies from the office going with me to the doctors whilst the nursery looked after my newborn. This enabled me to concentrate just on my sick child. I will never be able to thank them enough for those moments and I don't think they know how much they mean to us as a family, there aren't many nurseries that go above and beyond the way they do. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I will never be able to recommend them highly enough, so you will have to see for yourself, as soon as you step through the door you are made to feel welcome and you will definitely want your child to be part of this special place. Whether you start them in Caterpillars or in Pre school they will leave Chrysalis more than ready for their new journey into school.
My little boy started at Chrysalis in August 2015 at 8 months old. Since that day he has come on leaps on bounds and now at 13 months old his speech and social skills are amazing and that is mainly down to the ladies in Caterpillars. The activities they do with the children and interaction with singing, signing and reading is so vital for the children. My little boy loves going to nursery and does not hesitate to go to any of the ladies which makes me smile as I know he is going to have a fabulous day with them and all his new friends he has made. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful at Chrysalis.
My experience of Chrysalis Day Nursery is second to none! I have a two year old that is currently at the nursery. I also have a sixteen and twelve year old. My twelve year old also attended Chrysalis when we moved into the area. Once I had made my decision to go back to work after having my son (my two year old) I didn't give it a second thought as to which nursery he would attend. One of the nicest things about going back to the nursery was all the familiar faces. The staff are very happy in their work, friendly and attentive. It was like home from home and from that moment on I never looked back. It made going back to work so much easier and even enjoyable. He absolutely loves nursery without a shadow of doubt. He has made some lovely friends and has gained so much confidence.
He will stay at Chrysalis until he starts primary school. I have no hesitation in the knowledge that they will prepare him for primary school and the transition will be smooth for him and myself! He already has a "book bag" with a different reading book each day when he attends on a Monday and Tuesday. He thinks he is very grown up but it is all these little things that help build a happy, confident little boy :)
I cannot speak highly enough about this nursery but I think the staff are what make it complete!
My eldest daughter is nearly 6 years old and been right through Chrysalis, starting in the baby room, going all the way through to pre-school and she loved every minute. My youngest is currently in the toddler room called Cocoons. She started as a baby and thoroughly enjoys her time there. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the ladies that look after her and she clearly has a special bond with them which is lovely to see. Chrysalis is home from home to us and has played a big part in our lives for more than 5 years and we would be lost without the outstanding care they provide/ have provided for my precious babies. Thank you Chrysalis for making us part of your wonderful family!
As soon as we started looking at nurseries I knew that Chrysalis was the one for my son. I loved the fact that I didn't need to make an appointment to visit and they were very open about visiting at any time.
The two baby rooms (Caterpillars) that he started off in were perfect for a developing child and I cried when he had to move up to the next room as I felt that the ladies in those two rooms had cared for my son as much as I would have and I wouldn't be seeing them to chat with every day. As my son was a late developer with movement he learnt to crawl and walk in those rooms and I feel that they were instrumental in this change. He developed his speech and signing being named their star signer and I knew this would continue as he moved up to the toddler room (Cocoons) and he has!
He is now in the toddler room and all the ladies love him! He frequently talks about the ladies in the room telling me who gave him hugs, who put a plaster on his knee when he was learning to walk and what songs they have sang teaching me some new ones too. I've got a mountain of artwork that he has brought home and the books that they record their development are fantastic.
The outside play areas are brilliant as they are large. Initially I thought the baby area was quite small but it was perfectly sized for the stage of development the children are at when they are in the baby room. Now that he is in the toddler room there is loads of space to play outside and lots of equipment to play with too.
ALL the ladies are brilliant not just the nursery nurses but the managerial staff, on site chef and everyone I have met. They all know my son's name and are super friendly.
I cannot recommend Chrysalis enough and also am looking forward to all the activities he will do as he moves up through the different rooms.
Last January my husband and I had a look around several nurseries in the area. As we are first time parents we were feeling unsure about leaving our daughter for the first time and wanted to see what the nurseries were like and how they differed. Immediately Chrysalis day nursery stood out to us and for all the right reasons.
We started our daughter there in February when she was nine months old and have not looked back. The two ladies in the baby room are exceptional and our daughter quickly developed a lovely bond with them. Each child is cared for on an individual basis and the staff really get to know the children. We also feel that her development has been helped by the interaction with the other children and through the endless activities that they do at nursery. Our daughter has now moved into the next room up with the toddlers and is having a great time playing, painting, singing and dancing with the ladies and other children. She is never in a rush to leave and on occasion when I have asked if we should go home I get the response of 'no'.
Chrysalis is a lovely, caring nursery that I would highly recommend to other parents and my mind is completely at ease when she is there.
Two members of staff are in the ladies in the baby room for a reason .... They are an incredible introduction for what Chrysalis has to offer and our little boy loves them so so much !!!
My little boy has been at Chrysalis for almost a year and his development and behaviour is owed in a huge part to them
Every single person we have had contact with in the nursery is just amazing they all know every child's name and needs and when there are around 100 children it's very impressive !!
When we looked for childcare me and my husband agreed that not only was chrysalis head and shoulders above any other nursery in the area ... It was in another league !!
Thank you so much for the time so far that he has spent with you and we are excited for what the next 2 1/2 years will bring before he goes to school.
Since my son started (2.5yr ago) the care has remained excellent, lots of photos of what he has been up to, and minute details of each day retold by the staff at collection time....now with gushing praise and added bits 'piped up' from my pre-schooler!! Active learning through play certainly happens all the time, using ICT, tailored activities and themed days; the staff are fantastic, and with a wealth of experience behind them, they can often advise and guide if you need help with anything from behaviour to potty training.
As a medical professional (the nursery was recommended by a colleague!) they adopt a very sensible and caring approach, having no problems with your little precious ones if they become unwell through the day, they are happy to get calpol/nurofen authorisation over the phone and DON'T adopt protocols such as 'the parents must supply it in a prescription bottle' which only adds more hassle when you're juggling childcare, work, child with a simple cold etc on top of needing to see GP unnecessarily for stuff! Having had my son come down with a virus whilst at nursery, they seemed to have almost a mums instinct when they said 'he's just not his usual self!
Outside space is deceptive, from the front, you are not able to appreciate the gardens, but they are plenty big enough and very well equipped, plus with the locality being what it is, the children often go on 'adventures' to look at boats, look for wildlife, flowers and plants, once even calling in at the local cafe for a treat of hot chocolate after a cold winters day walk! The food at chrysalis sounds fabulous, I would love them to supply adult packed lunches of it! Mealtimes are ordered and not chaos and the children love their food-all cooked on the premises. My son is miles more adventurous with food than some friends using other nurseries.
Overall, I can't recommend highly enough this nursery, I have friends who are equally as happy having had problems elsewhere and moved their children to Chrysalis.
My daughter has just finished 3.5 years at Chrysalis and I can not recommend it highly enough. Her social, emotional and physical development have all come on extremely well and in pre-school she has enjoyed learning letters and sounds in preparation for school.
I have always felt she was safe and well cared for at nursery. The staff are always on the end of the phone and have never minded me contacting them for a daily update!
My daughter has particularly enjoyed the outside space and the food! She made a group of lovely friends and was very happy once she settled in each new room.
This nursery undoubtedly passes the family and friends test!
I can't say enough about how excellent this nursery/pre-school is! From the moment I walked into the premises, the staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They're caring and it's genuine! They all have individual traits and areas of expertise which compliment each other and the personal touches they add such as 'firsts' photos, plays and the pre-school nativity really capture and create lifelong memories. They know my children inside out, even though they are only in part-time. They offer a really good balance of education and play and the food offers great variety, and is nutritious and plentiful! The staff always have time for you (as a parent and for your child). They have really prepared my son for primary school, mentally, socially and by focusing on skills and routines to make the transition smooth. It feels more like an extended family than a business. It was recommended to me and I would go on to recommend it to others!!!
The managers were welcoming and experienced, the key workers were engaged in the care and support of every baby and child there. The children were happy and involved in all their activities. The environment, both indoor and outdoor was stimulating and rich in every aspect of the early years curriculum.
I had no hesitation in recommending this setting to my daughter in law and I'm sure my granddaughter will be happy there.
