Really amazing nursery and preschool. The team at Wollaton House were the first people we left our daughter with post-Covid and they made it such an easy experience. She settled in straight away and made so much progress in development as well as her social skills. The team at Wollaton House are always friendly and seem to really know your child and their individual character. Our daughter would always talk about the staff and what funny things they did and would be really excited to tell them about things she had done or holidays she had been on. Would be comfortable recommending anyone sending their child to Wollaton House - it is run by a team of people who genuinely care and who go out of their way to make parents feel as comfortable as they do the children. Plus all of the little extras like the pictures and crafts that get sent home really make a huge difference and show how much care and focus they put into each child.

We moved to the UK from South Africa for work and needed our son to go straight into a nursery. He had never been to a nursery school before so we were so nervous. I had multiple calls with the head who was just so lovely and reassuring to us sitting miles away and having to make a decision for a little 2-year-old. I had my sister (who is a teacher herself) visit many nursery schools in the area and when she walked into Wollaton House Day Nursery and met some of the teachers and saw the facilities, she instantly fed back that this was the one. Big decision for us to make having never met any of the teachers or seen the school, but goodness me have we been impressed. They have supported us through all sorts of milestones, have been there for advice, have done such a good job with teaching our son things I never thought a 3/4-year-old would grasp and have just been the loveliest bunch I have ever met. I could not recommend them more, have absolutely loved our 2 years with them!

She has developed so much in her time with them and has gained a special confidence that she continues to show every single day. The team are wonderful - open, honest and always happy to see us. Our daughter has developed really special relationships with her key workers and it’s beautiful to see her happy and excited to start the day with them each time.

We were very apprehensive to put our son in nursery as he hadn’t been cared for, for a length of time by anyone outside of immediate family. We were also worried how it would impact naps, eating and sleeping. During the introductory phase, the staff really showed their experience and supported me, as well as my son. For us, our choice of nursery was focused on all the main tick boxes - development, nutrition, environment etc. but we also wanted our baby to feel welcomed, cared for and wanted which is the feeling we get from Wollaton House. It feels like he isn’t a number and amongst a close-knit team who always put the child first. Super efficient, communicative, experienced and kind. We are just coming up to a month and our son is happy and developing every day. How well he has settled has made my transition back to work so much easier and feel I can focus on my working day knowing he is well looked after, happy and safe. We’re keeping everything crossed this continues!

We originally chose another nursery at the time of being pregnant; a corporate, seduced by convenience. However very quickly after our 9-month-old started, we realised that we’d made the wrong choice for many reasons.
Wollaton House Day Nursery was recommended to us by a friend and as soon as we spoke to the nursery manager we knew instantly that we had to get our boy a coveted place! It’s fair to say our boy adores his nursery family; as do we!
We drop him off knowing that he is shown love, his every need is taken care of and that his mind is stimulated by the activities and playtime - what more could we ask for?!
Delighted is an understatement. We have found the staff to be so supportive and really knowledgeable; truly lovely people. Therefore without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend the nursery and its incredible staff as a genuinely wholesome nursery environment.
My oldest daughter has been at this nursery 2.5 years and my second has been there since October ‘23, and I can honestly say it’s the best nursery I know of. I visited quite a few before applying for my firstborn, and I immediately knew Wollaton House was for us. We had an instant warm, family feel...
I’ve seen huge development milestones in both our girls since being here and the team are just fabulous (also deserve more than medals), I’m certain they are part-time medical/out-of-hours doctors too!
Thank you to you all, your hard work never goes unnoticed.
Well, what can I say that hasn't been said before?! From the very first telephone call, where I explained the issues we were having with the previous nursery (lack of communication, lack of structure, abject chaos at times!), I felt that we were listened to and treated with respect and...
Without a doubt, this is the setting that our son needed. A caring, compassionate, loving, and structured environment where 'family' is at the heart of teaching and learning. The children aren't only encouraged and steered into being self-sufficient inquisitive learners, but shown how to work as a team...a family...and look after each other.
The level of respect shown by the staff towards the children is mirrored by the kids as they skip into nursery...and are reluctant to leave with daddy/mummy at the end of the day as they're having so much fun.
The food is varied and delicious, it must be as I'm always hearing he's had seconds/ thirds!
I just wish I had more than 1000 word limit.

I initially chose the nursery on the caregiving side as my son was only 1yr old when he started but I've been blown away by what he has been learning as he's progressed into the preschool room. His cognitive skills have increased as has his ability to focus hopefully making his transition to school in September a smooth one.
The staff are wonderful, they have been very kind and caring not only to my son (and now my two-year-old daughter who attends) but also to me as a mum offering me great advice and support.
Our son has made lots of friends here and made lots of good memories we will always remember.

It is probably a gross understatement to say that the manager and her team of dedicated staff understand preschool children. My daughter's progress - in all areas - since she joined in February 2022 has been remarkable: she is unquestionably more emotionally resilient; more empathetic with her peers and adults alike; considerably more numerate and literate, able to count fluently, and identify letters and phonemes, and she is most importantly of all - again thanks to the manager's team - a happy, well-rounded, and kind child. I will, truly, be forever indebted to the nursery for laying the solid, built-to-last foundations and platform necessary to help my daughter realise her life's potential. Thank you. It therefore goes without saying that I would recommend Wollaton House Day Nursery to your child unreservedly.
Her development and confidence has really grown, which has set her up for school.

I have wanted to write this review for a while now, but am always lost for words. This nursery is incredible and I simply cannot do it justice, my daughter has been there from being about 1 to leaving this year. The manager is an amazing manager and says it how it is and has helped me a lot, particularly in the beginning when I was nervous to leave her. The staff there are fantastic and they always go that extra mile. Every event throughout the year is marked and full effort has been put in by the staff to educate the children and make it fun for them, always coming home with artwork and a great package of stuff she has made at Christmas, which I will treasure forever. I could not recommend this place enough and will be very sad when she leaves. A particular member of staff is always beaming on the door and another two have been fabulous this year, my daughter loves them and talks about them often. Thank you Wollaton House, the manager and all of your team, I will always remember what you have done.

A huge thank you to all of the staff making a big difference in the lives of our little ones.

My 4-year old daughter moved to Wollaton House after her previous nursery closed down. They welcomed her and settled her in quickly. She has been there for 4 months now and has come on leaps and bounds with her writing and maths, ready for starting school in September. It is an excellent nursery, great manager and long-term staff, lovely setting and strong emphasis on getting the children ready for school. We are so pleased our daughter has had these few months there and made new friends. We feel it was a blessing in disguise and would highly recommend this nursery to others.

My son loves attending each day and has made good friends with his peers. He has been given a range of experiences and opportunities to support and challenge his learning and feedback about the progress he has made has been excellent.
Communication from the team is fantastic and as parents we feel fully informed. If we have any questions they are always responded to quickly.
As a parent I cannot recommend this setting highly enough, they have welcomed us as a family and provided invaluable support. Our little boy will be leaving at the end of August with lots of happy memories and a bank of knowledge and skills that have prepared him for his next adventure in ‘big’ school.
Our second son is now at Wollaton House and has been at the nursery for 6 months. He has settled so well and our rapport with the Wollaton House staff is excellent. Our first son left to go to school last year and talks positively and very fondly to his brother, about his time and experiences at...
Hopefully, that says it all in terms of how much we trust the setting and appreciate them.
Thank you all.
Our daughter has been in Wollaton House since August. Since then she has always loved her time there. Receiving the little Christmas pack with all her activities and 'artwork' was a lovely touch and great to see.

The manager is always providing useful updates, even local road work alerts that could affect your commute!
This place has a lovely homely and family feel which makes leaving him there so much easier. Would highly recommend.

From day one the nursery have welcomed my daughter with open arms. Their confident and professional yet caring and loving approach has brought her out of her shell! Placing equal importance on fun and play along with strong values, good behaviour and formal education, the nursery has enabled my daughter to start school with confidence! The meals are well-varied and cultured, encouraging the children to try different flavours. We have felt that our daughter has been a part of a large family at Wollaton House and we will be forever grateful for the early years that she spent at the nursery!
