Wollaton House Day Nursery are committed to maintaining the highest standards of childcare and nursery education. Full time or part-time childcare is offered for children between birth and 5 years, Monday to Friday, in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

The nursery recognizes what an important role they play in a child’s development, so most of all they want children to be happy, confident and to feel secure. All sessions offer a well-planned programme of activities which allow both organised and free play as well as quiet times.

The Wollaton Nursery has a fully qualified infant teacher who coordinates the Foundation Stage learning programme for children aged 3-5 years. Carefully structured educational play ensures the children enjoy a stimulating time at the nursery. They guide and encourage your child’s development in the key areas of reading, writing, numbers and sounds. The aim is to help pre-school children to discover and begin to develop their basic academic core skills.

The last four years at Wollaton House have been amazing for our son. We chose Wollaton House through a mixture of good reviews and the lovely family feel the nursery had when we looked around and haven't been disappointed at all. The care has been exceptional.


I initially chose the nursery on the

caregiving side as my son was only 1yr old when he started but I've been blown away by what he has been learning as he's progressed into the preschool room. His cognitive skills have increased as has his ability to focus hopefully making his transition to school in September a smooth one.


The staff are wonderful, they have been very kind and caring not only to my son (and now my two-year-old daughter who attends) but also to me as a mum offering me great advice and support.


Our son has made lots of friends here and made lots of good memories we will always remember.

It is probably a gross understatement to say that the manager and her team of dedicated staff understand preschool children. My daughter's progress - in all areas - since she joined in February 2022 has been remarkable: she is unquestionably more emotionally resilient; more empathetic with her peers
and adults alike; considerably more numerate and literate, able to count fluently, and identify letters and phonemes, and she is most importantly of all - again thanks to the manager's team - a happy, well-rounded, and kind child. I will, truly, be forever indebted to the nursery for laying the solid, built-to-last foundations and platform necessary to help my daughter realise her life's potential. Thank you. It therefore goes without saying that I would recommend Wollaton House Day Nursery to your child unreservedly.

Absolutely love this nursery and have done ever since my daughter started. The staff are all great and I'm quite sad that my little one is leaving to start school in September!
Her development and confidence has really grown, which has set her up for school.

I have wanted to write this review for a while now, but am always lost for words. This nursery is incredible and I simply cannot do it justice, my daughter has been there from being about 1 to leaving this year. The manager is an amazing manager and says it how it is and has helped me a lot, particularly
in the beginning when I was nervous to leave her. The staff there are fantastic and they always go that extra mile. Every event throughout the year is marked and full effort has been put in by the staff to educate the children and make it fun for them, always coming home with artwork and a great package of stuff she has made at Christmas, which I will treasure forever. I could not recommend this place enough and will be very sad when she leaves. A particular member of staff is always beaming on the door and another two have been fabulous this year, my daughter loves them and talks about them often. Thank you Wollaton House, the manager and all of your team, I will always remember what you have done.

My granddaughter joined this nursery in February 2022. She is leaving soon to start school in September.
I am overwhelmed by the care and attention given at this nursery. My granddaughter has made terrific progress both educationally and socially and settled in so well and so quickly. Her confidence
is much improved and she looks forward to going to nursery every day.
A huge thank you to all of the staff making a big difference in the lives of our little ones.

My 4-year old daughter moved to Wollaton House after her previous nursery closed down. They welcomed her and settled her in quickly. She has been there for 4 months now and has come on leaps and bounds with her writing and maths, ready for starting school in September. It is an excellent nursery, great
manager and long-term staff, lovely setting and strong emphasis on getting the children ready for school. We are so pleased our daughter has had these few months there and made new friends. We feel it was a blessing in disguise and would highly recommend this nursery to others.

My son joined Wollaton House Day Nursery in February 2023. This was the best decision we made. All staff have shown love and care towards him, they have taken time to get to know him as an individual and have provided him with opportunities to flourish.
My son loves attending each day and has made
good friends with his peers. He has been given a range of experiences and opportunities to support and challenge his learning and feedback about the progress he has made has been excellent.
Communication from the team is fantastic and as parents we feel fully informed. If we have any questions they are always responded to quickly.
As a parent I cannot recommend this setting highly enough, they have welcomed us as a family and provided invaluable support. Our little boy will be leaving at the end of August with lots of happy memories and a bank of knowledge and skills that have prepared him for his next adventure in ‘big’ school.

Our second son is now at Wollaton House and has been at the nursery for 6 months. He has settled so well and our rapport with the Wollaton House staff is excellent. Our first son left to go to school last year and talks positively and very fondly to his brother, about his time and experiences at Wollaton.
The communication between the manager and us is so easy and effective and the team have all been great caring for our children. We wouldn't want our children anywhere else, our third son will hopefully be attending in due course too.
Hopefully, that says it all in terms of how much we trust the setting and appreciate them.

Our daughter has been in Wollaton House since August. Since then she has always loved her time there. Receiving the little Christmas pack with all her activities and 'artwork' was a lovely touch and great to see.

A fantastic setting where my daughter has thrived. She loves going to nursery here. The manager and the team are wonderful - they keep us informed of everything we need to know and there is a genuine passion evident for seeing the little ones thrive.

Wonderful Nursery!
I feel confident that my one-year-old is safe and well cared for at this nursery. Staff are always very helpful and willing to answer any queries you may have to put your mind at ease. My little boy is happy being handed over in the morning and is cheerful when we pick him up. We
always get a summary of how his day has been or any key developments he has shown.
The manager is always providing useful updates, even local road work alerts that could affect your commute!
This place has a lovely homely and family feel which makes leaving him there so much easier. Would highly recommend.

From day one the nursery have welcomed my daughter with open arms. Their confident and professional yet caring and loving approach has brought her out of her shell! Placing equal importance on fun and play along with strong values, good behaviour and formal education, the nursery has enabled my daughter
to start school with confidence! The meals are well-varied and cultured, encouraging the children to try different flavours. We have felt that our daughter has been a part of a large family at Wollaton House and we will be forever grateful for the early years that she spent at the nursery!

Absolutely outstanding nursery.
Everybody is so lovely and welcoming to our son.
He just loves to go there so much that we added an extra day for him to enjoy it there.
He always comes out with a smile on his face.

At Wollaton House Day Nursery the staff are very kind and friendly. I feel safe and secure leaving my daughter at nursery and my daughter is always happy when I leave. Any problems or concerns, the manager has always been helpful. When my daughter started Wollaton House I was very upset and nervous,
but the manager was very comforting and ensured me I can contact the nursery anytime and as often as I like to make me feel at ease.
Wollaton House Day Nursery is always clean and tidy and I have no worries with hygiene. I have no faults to say and I highly recommend Wollaton House Day Nursery to any person considering a place for their child.

We have sent both our children to this nursery and have been highly impressed with the standard of care they received. A lot of thought and attention is put into the kids' development through the age ranges, with special attention being on prepping the kids for primary school. The staff are friendly
and approachable and more than happy to have a (very) quick chat about the kids at drop-off and pick-up time. Regular parent evenings keep you up to date with your child's progression through the key learning stages. You are kept up to date with the events and procedures surrounding the nursery and they try to involve the parents as much as possible. I think the fact both our children were more than happy to go there is probably the best endorsement we can give.

Most things I liked about the nursery:
- Picking up a happy child from nursery as she had an enjoyable time there with lots of activities.
- Easy communication with the staff and receiving feedback from staff.
- All the staff are motivated and guided by a dedicated manager.
- English is our second
language and I have never felt that this was an issue at nursery.

Both our children went to this nursery. You couldn't ask for a better nursery - it's like you drop them off to family, the care is so good. They set clear behaviour standards for the children and make everything fun, so the ideal combination. They prepare the children really well for school. I think
the fact that the owner's son goes to the nursery is a testament to how it is run and the family ethos. There's been continuous investment over the years into the building and equipment. The majority of staff have been there for several years so there is a very low staff turnover - again creating that loving family environment. I know several people who've stayed in touch with the nursery long after their children have left. Nursery is not cheap - but you get what you pay for and I wouldn't hesitate to make this investment in our two children's start in life again at Wollaton House Day Nursery.

My son started at Wollaton House in July 2021 and due to moving out of the area recently, we had to make the tough decision to move to another nursery. We definitely didn't want to as he loved it so much! As a lockdown baby, he found the first few months particularly difficult but he got settled in
and all the staff were very reassuring. There is a real sense of family among the staff as some have worked there for many years. They are definitely old school with everything done on paper, however, emails are responded to extremely promptly and nothing is too much trouble. At Christmas, we were surprised with a beautiful book containing lots of arts and crafts that our son had done in the year. Talking to other friends whose children go to larger nurseries, this isn't very common as they don't always have the time to do these things. We were very touched. Overall, the staff are very loving and caring towards the children and they nurture their interests through play and learning.

I’d done a lot of research on nurseries beforehand and came across Wollaton House as firstly having an Ofsted report but also some great reviews on this site. The manager and the team are just amazing and clearly so caring towards my child and passionate about her development. The care they give her
is incredible, to the point where my child loves going to nursery and doesn’t even wave bye to me anymore!
All in all, this is a great nursery with a great sense of community.
