My daughter has just started at Children 1st @ Toton nursery under a month ago. It is an AMAZING nursery. Every day I collect my child, I get good feedback about my child and the staff are always willing to help. The staff are very kind and helpful, I feel like the staff in the baby room go beyond the extra miles for my child. Every day I pick her up, she is happy playing with the other children or staff I really enjoy getting observation/pictures threw the Eylog I think this was a very good idea. My older daughter came to Children 1st @ Toton nursery for holiday club through the Christmas period she never wanted to come home she was telling me all the amazing stuff she made and did every day and she was very upset she had to go back to school she surely will be coming back for February half term. I would recommend this nursery to everyone I know. The care my children received is more then excellent.

I adore this nursery and so does my son. They go above and beyond to ensure you are 100% happy in every way. The minute you step through the door, you feel part of the family. They have calmed my son's behaviour down also since starting. The nursery put in plans on how to positively reinforce good behaviour. My son even asks to go at weekends! I can't thank the staff enough for all the hard work and genuine care they give to my son every day and help they give me if I ever need advice or if I'm struggling also. This is the best nursery my son has ever been to ever by miles. He will be coming here for a long time as we will use them for in-between school holidays terms also. We now travel to Toton for nursery and it is so worth it. The staff are lovely and I really feel that my son is getting the best out of his time there. Hello, my name is Katie Smeeton and I joined Children 1st in 2008. I began my childcare journey as an apprentice, where I completed my Level 3 qualification in Childcare. During my training, I gained so much knowledge and understanding of early years education, which shaped my passion for the profession.
I’ve had the opportunity to work across three of our sites, developing my skills and experiences along the way. This journey has led me to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 in Childcare, alongside DSL training and First Aid in the Workplace.
I am especially passionate about working with Under 2’s and supporting their early learning and development. Hello, my name is Laura Harrison and I began my journey with Children 1st in 2007. I started as a Level 3 Early Years Educator after completing my qualification at college, but it’s throughout my time here that I’ve gained the most valuable experience and knowledge.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in three different nurseries, developing my skills and progressing from Senior to Deputy, and now to my current role as Nursery Manager.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, along with DSL and Paediatric First Aid certificates. What I love most about my role is building strong relationships with families, supporting them through those important early stages of nursery life, and watching their children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.
I’m passionate about providing high-quality care and creating a warm, welcoming environment where every family’s nursery experience is a positive one.
