Windermere Day Nursery is a beautiful purpose built day nursery, developed on behalf of Kettering General Hospital to care for the children of Trust employees and of the local community. The nursery has a homely and friendly atmosphere, with a team of highly qualified and experienced staff to inspire and develop your child's skills.

Children are taught to care about the world they live in and the nursery is proud to have gained an Eco Schools Green Flag Award.

At Windermere children have six main playrooms for individual age groups. The outside area consists of a sectioned garden, comprising of grassy areas and also individual garden areas for each age group. This ensures the children have access to a variety of outdoor stimulation with an opportunity to explore, learn and play.

The staff are very friendly and caring. Our child is very happy at the nursery and we are confident that he is safe and being taken care of.


The nursery can benefit from an indoor playground (soft play) that children from Bumblebees and above can use it in turns to improve their motoring skills.

This area can be built at the bottom of preschool 1 outdoor play area next to caterpillar garden.

We have been kept informed of our child’s progress, daily eating habits, and any developmental milestones with advice for things to try at home. We feel safe and happy to drop him off in the mornings, knowing he is well looked after.

We have been here for approx eight years (with a small break) with both of our children and will miss everyone so much. Both children have learnt so much and been given the best start in life. Second child has had speech difficulties, but Windermere has been brilliant. Two referrals were rejected for
speech and language; however, the staff still worked hard in helping him. The facilitates are amazing, and both children have been so happy coming here to the point of them not wanting to leave at the end of the day. We can't thank you enough.

Windermere Day Nursery (Kettering) is amazing both of my children went there. The staff are warm, welcoming, informative and will go to great lengths to help when needed. The nursery and its facilities are clean and sterile, it's a safe and comfortable environment for the children. Also a great attitude
to learning the life skills that go far beyond school years, eco-friendly making play doh from scratch and recycling materials and creating alternative uses for them, making sure each individual child has their specific needs met.
Truly amazing nursery, truly amazing staff and so many staff that are practically part of the furniture, when staff are treated well it reflects in the effort and passion they pass onto the children excellent environment all around for staff and children.

In the last month, my son has been developing his walking skills which have been encouraged amazingly by the ladybird room. He has been encouraged to walk between staff until his confidence grew enough to walk on his own.

Windermere Day Nursery (Kettering) is absolutely amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My child was very nervous about going. The staff are so lovely and friendly, managed to settle him in nicely.
They do lots of learning activities and they spend a lot of time out in the garden area doing
activities. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has settled in so well at this nursery. The organisation is extremely well run which gives us a lot of comfort. My little boy started at Windermere after being at another nursery previously and he has come on leaps and bounds. He now loves going to nursery and is always asking if today is a nursery day. All the staff there greet him as we walk in and out every time and everyone working there is very caring and

Since our daughter started at the nursery at the beginning of this month, we have been really happy with the care and support that she has received. The staff have all been very kind and loving towards her which has been wonderful and greatly appreciated by us as parents. Our little girl has been enjoying
lots of her meals, trying out new flavours and tastes. She has enjoyed playing with the other children and with all the different variety of toys. The photo board and her family book are a great idea to make her feel more at home. Thank you!

My son was with Windermere Nursery from 11 months old to pre-school. He got amazing support from all the staff members at Windermere. The nursery was always open, also during the Covid period. All the staff members took good care of my son who had a speech delay and helped with his speech and overall
development. I would recommend this nursery to all my friends.

It has been a great experience taking both our children to Windermere Day Nursery. The staff were very supportive and caring and my kids enjoyed every day of nursery. My oldest child is just starting school this September and he has learned and developed so much over the time he has attended Windermere.

It has been a pleasure watching our daughter grow and develop whilst at Windermere Day Nursery. Amy McCulloch

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Amy is the Manager of Windermere Day Nursery in Kettering and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 29 years. Amy worked as a Manager for 17 years at her previous setting, before joining Childbase Partnership and becoming manager in 2018. Amy has numerous qualifications, including her Level 3 in Childcare.


What is your favourite feature of Windermere?
My favourite feature is the large and spacious garden which is quiet and calming with lots of areas for the children to explore. The nursery rooms are not only separated for the age groups but also have separate rooms within those areas, allowing lots of free flow for the children to aid us in creating fantastic, engaging, enabling environments.


I am most proud of the long-standing experienced team, that works together supporting each other and sharing ideas and knowledge of the children we care for to make sure each child experiences the best day every day. There is a good team spirit on the whole and a “want to achieve attitude”.
