Windermere Day Nursery is a beautiful purpose built day nursery, developed on behalf of Kettering General Hospital to care for the children of Trust employees and of the local community. The nursery has a homely and friendly atmosphere, with a team of highly qualified and experienced staff to inspire and develop your child's skills.

Children are taught to care about the world they live in and the nursery is proud to have gained an Eco Schools Green Flag Award.

At Windermere children have six main playrooms for individual age groups. The outside area consists of a sectioned garden, comprising of grassy areas and also individual garden areas for each age group. This ensures the children have access to a variety of outdoor stimulation with an opportunity to explore, learn and play.

My son has been attending Windermere Day Nursery on a full-time basis for just under two years and he has received nothing but amazing care from all the staff in the rooms he has been in. They are nurturing, patient, very caring and completely understand his needs. I always feel very welcome when going
into the room and get a general handover at the end of the day about what he has done. My son is provided with a range of activities, which has helped him develop and I can see how much he has thrived since joining.
My only personal niggle would be to have more observations and photos of his time at the nursery as working full time, you feel as though you are missing out on that time with your child. Seeing what he does, allows me the opportunity to share his experiences of nursery at home. However, I do appreciate that the staff's time is better spent playing with him than behind a camera.
I am very happy with the care he receives, which is why I highly recommend Windermere Day Nursery.

My daughter is well looked after by all the team at Windermere Day Nursery. I feel comfortable leaving her in the morning and so pleased to see her happy little face at the end of the day. Each key worker has built a strong connection with her. Moving her to Windermere Day Nursery from a different nursery
was the best decision for us as a family!

Absolutely delighted with the care, service and experience my daughter receives in the butterflies class. She is so happy and secure and we love the variety of activities and development opportunities she has to explore and expand her little world. Windermere Day Nursery (Kettering) thoroughly deserves
its Ofsted's Outstanding accreditation. She has also built lovely little friendships and bonds with many of her other children in the group and gets on great with the teachers. We highly recommend this nursery. The food is also really nutritious for them. The only challenge we have experienced is we keep getting locked out of the app for updates. Not the nursery's fault but we miss the experience of being able to regularly check on her progress. Please can HQ address.

I am very happy with the nursery. The management and staff are very good. I am so thankful to the teachers. I feel my daughter is well supported by her teachers. The nursery has adequate facilities for the total improvement of kids in all aspects. I had a fear in the beginning about how my daughter

Windermere has helped my child flourish. She is confident with her peers and adults. She is able to write her own name and count to fifty. Every member of staff is a credit to the company. They know every child's needs and wants.

The nursery has been such an amazing experience for my daughter for the last two years. She has grown. All the staff have been amazing and very approachable in the pre-school room. I have really built a relationship with the staff. Front of house is always easy to talk to.

Our daughter settled in instantly at Windermere and is always so happy and excited to go into Nursery.
The staff and management team are very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful.
The large garden areas are great for our daughter who loves to play outdoors.

Windermere Day Nursery is an excellent provision for children. My child has been attending the nursery for 3 years, and I would highly recommend it. Any issues are dealt with straight away and communication between the parent and key workers is excellent. Relationships between the children and adults
are also excellent. The topics for learning are interesting and enjoyable. Thank you Windermere.

My daughter had to move to Windermere Day Nursry when her nursery closed due to Covid-19. It was a stressful time for everyone but the staff at Windermere made the whole situation a whole lot easier. My little girl settled really quickly and has had a great time in the year she's spent there.
For
various reasons we've had to use different nurseries and Windermere has definitely been the best. It's organised, welcoming and caring.

Unfortunately, this nursery is not as good as it was in the pre-covid phase. The quality of this nursery has drastically dropped down now. Some staff are good and caring but a few of them are rude and unpleasant. This nursery doesn't provide any support even for special needs children. Staff are overworked
so they don't really bother about kids and their requirements. There is always a long queue of parents outside of the nursery to pick up their children, parents will wait there for a long time in heavy rain and freezing cold with no proper shelter. Parking is always a long term issue. Staff is not capable to take care of children with a temper tantrum, as they lose their own temper because of overwork and some of them even look incompetent. They even don't bother to reply to parent's email, as they like to ignore it always. The childcare app is just a formality there, with just an occasional update of children's activities. They even don't bother to inform me when they changed my son's key person.

Our son has been attending the nursery since he was a baby. He has come on leaps and bounds, in all aspects, especially speech. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, responsive and always put your mind at rest and listen to any concerns. I do sometimes ring and see how our son is and they do not mind
at all and are happy to help! Great for when I left my baby for the first time. Great meals and activities for the children, our son always has so much fun with his friends. Updates and images are uploaded onto an app as well as assessments, so parents can regularly see how their little one is getting on.

My daughter started at Windermere in June 2020. She has settled in really well with the support of the lovely staff. I get sent photos and updates on how she is and she really seems to be enjoying it. The staff keep me informed and updated regularly and are always at the end of the phone to answer my
questions. I feel at ease knowing she’s really cared for and I can’t thank the staff enough especially as it’s not easy times due to COVID-19. I would highly recommend this nursery.

1. Staff are very friendly and helpful while being professional.
2. Constructive feedback given by parents is always taken in a positive manner.
3. I would recommend this nursery any day.
4. I am an ambitious Dad and want my child to excel in academics. This concern of mine has been taken up positively
by the staff. My eldest starts school in September and I am paying for him to continue at the nursery through summer with a focus on getting the child "school ready". The staff have taken my feedback on board and are working with the child accordingly, without putting too much pressure on him.
5. I have two little boys at this nursery going all day, five days a week. No discount other than a 10% sibling discount for the older child. So yes, the fees do add up to close to £2,000 a month for the family. During these times of the Coronavirus and a bleak job market, it is a stretch for the family but we are managing as we have a little one at home that needs extra care at this time.

My little boy has been attending Windermere nursery for approx 2 years. I have nothing but good things to say, from the care they provide for my son and the responsiveness to parents emails/phone calls.
My son adores going to nursery and feels supported and cared for by all of the staff. They do a
wide range of activities with the children and encourage any particular interests they may have! They spend a lot of time outside and my son has gone on trips outside of the nursery.
I would 100% recommend Windermere nursery to anyone looking for childcare in and around Kettering.

My 10-month-old daughter started at Windermere in June and I could not have hoped for a better experience. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff were informative, understanding and eased any concerns that I had. She has settled in like an absolute dream and hasn't been unsettled by the experience
at all, which is a massive weight off my shoulders returning to work.
I can't thank them enough and I look forward to seeing my daughter continue to thrive.

Amy McCulloch

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

Amy is the Manager of Windermere Day Nursery in Kettering and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 29 years. Amy worked as a Manager for 17 years at her previous setting, before joining Childbase Partnership and becoming manager in 2018. Amy has numerous qualifications, including her Level 3 in Childcare.


What is your favourite feature of Windermere?
My favourite feature is the large and spacious garden which is quiet and calming with lots of areas for the children to explore. The nursery rooms are not only separated for the age groups but also have separate rooms within those areas, allowing lots of free flow for the children to aid us in creating fantastic, engaging, enabling environments.


I am most proud of the long-standing experienced team, that works together supporting each other and sharing ideas and knowledge of the children we care for to make sure each child experiences the best day every day. There is a good team spirit on the whole and a “want to achieve attitude”.
