Unfortunately, this nursery is not as good as it was in the pre-covid phase. The quality of this nursery has drastically dropped down now. Some staff are good and caring but a few of them are rude and unpleasant. This nursery doesn't provide any support even for special needs children. Staff are overworked so they don't really bother about kids and their requirements. There is always a long queue of parents outside of the nursery to pick up their children, parents will wait there for a long time in heavy rain and freezing cold with no proper shelter. Parking is always a long term issue. Staff is not capable to take care of children with a temper tantrum, as they lose their own temper because of overwork and some of them even look incompetent. They even don't bother to reply to parent's email, as they like to ignore it always. The childcare app is just a formality there, with just an occasional update of children's activities. They even don't bother to inform me when they changed my son's key person.
Firstly, I was very grateful for the opportunity you gave me to clear up some misconceptions about our Ofsted-rated Outstanding nursery and our Covid-secure operating procedures. It is important that I stress again we have a highly qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator, who has been at...
Our son has been attending the nursery since he was a baby. He has come on leaps and bounds, in all aspects, especially speech. The staff are very friendly, welcoming, responsive and always put your mind at rest and listen to any concerns. I do sometimes ring and see how our son is and they do not mind at all and are happy to help! Great for when I left my baby for the first time. Great meals and activities for the children, our son always has so much fun with his friends. Updates and images are uploaded onto an app as well as assessments, so parents can regularly see how their little one is getting on.
My son has been attending this nursery since he was 20 months old and he’s always excited to go there. Good and friendly staff, great meals, excellent communication from the management and clean learning environment for kids.
My daughter started at Windermere in June 2020. She has settled in really well with the support of the lovely staff. I get sent photos and updates on how she is and she really seems to be enjoying it. The staff keep me informed and updated regularly and are always at the end of the phone to answer my questions. I feel at ease knowing she’s really cared for and I can’t thank the staff enough especially as it’s not easy times due to COVID-19. I would highly recommend this nursery.
2. Constructive feedback given by parents is always taken in a positive manner.
3. I would recommend this nursery any day.
4. I am an ambitious Dad and want my child to excel in academics. This concern of mine has been taken up positively by the staff. My eldest starts school in September and I am paying for him to continue at the nursery through summer with a focus on getting the child "school ready". The staff have taken my feedback on board and are working with the child accordingly, without putting too much pressure on him.
5. I have two little boys at this nursery going all day, five days a week. No discount other than a 10% sibling discount for the older child. So yes, the fees do add up to close to £2,000 a month for the family. During these times of the Coronavirus and a bleak job market, it is a stretch for the family but we are managing as we have a little one at home that needs extra care at this time.
My son adores going to nursery and feels supported and cared for by all of the staff. They do a wide range of activities with the children and encourage any particular interests they may have! They spend a lot of time outside and my son has gone on trips outside of the nursery.
I would 100% recommend Windermere nursery to anyone looking for childcare in and around Kettering.
I can't thank them enough and I look forward to seeing my daughter continue to thrive.
My child enjoys her time in the nursery and has learned a lot as well. They are a family first nursery as well, especially throughout the pandemic. I feel safe to leave her there most of all, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. I would recommend them to anyone who needs their services.
My son attends this nursery, the care he receives is just simply the best, the staff are always very helpful and knowledgeable, it's very clear they are very passionate about the children and nursery. The activities that the nursery provide is outstanding. I would highly recommend Windermere. I can go to work safe in the knowledge that he is being cared for.
My daughter has been attending Windermere since she was 11 months. She loves going to nursery and has thrived since starting there. This is because of the fantastic staff who really take time to get to know the children and who go above and beyond in their care of them.
We have been constantly contacted by the nursery with updates about children returning with no pressure to choose yes or no.
Cannot wait for our daughter to go back, she loves going and is educated and nurtured to a very high standard.
I have used Windermere Day Nursery since 2016 when my eldest started there. As a first time mum I was very apprehensive about leaving my daughter but the staff were so kind and I was able to tell them everything I wanted them to know and felt really at ease. My eldest is due to leave in September to start school and I know she has had an amazing life at the nursery loving all the activities and staff. My youngest is also at the nursery now and also really enjoys attending and seeing her big sister there. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic the nursery has been so supportive and understanding of my situation and with keeping in contact with parents to update on the situation, providing information on life at the nursery now and asking what the children have been up to.
My eldest has been coming to this nursery for 4 years (since he was 6 months old) and my youngest for 1 year. The staff have always been approachable, accommodating and kind. Both my boys have had a wonderful experience and have formed close bonds with the staff. Coronavirus has brought about government-led changes within the nursery, which has remained open to us, as we are key workers, throughout. Initially I was nervous about 'social bubbles', the absence of many of the children and the impact of 'school readiness', etc. but the staff have worked hard to make the transition as smooth as possible and I am grateful for their hard work and dedication.
I know she has been left in excellent hands and we've watched her grow into a beautiful little lady, and that is truly down to the staff at all levels in Windemere Day Nursery. They say it takes a village to raise a child (well in our eyes, she couldn't have been in a better one!). From the bottom of a mummy's heart, thank you for looking after our little girl.
I'm so glad we found Windermere. After viewing a few other local nurseries and starting to worry about not finding one where we were comfortable we booked in for a viewing. We knew instantly this nursery was different. I didn't want to write a review that just sounded like it was perfect as nowhere is but honestly, it's hard to fault it. If ever there has been an issue it's been dealt with proactively, responsibly and always with our son's welfare as the sole focus. The building is clean, modern and spacious. The food is healthy, prepared on-site with a large variety. The facilities are of an exceptional standard but above all of this, the staff really make the difference. It never appears they are 'doing a job'. They genuinely care about the development of all of the children and that comes across in everything they do. We will miss the place when it's time to move on up to school.
Would highly recommend this nursery to anybody.
Always a warm welcome from staff when we enter the nursery doors. My 14-month-old can be very clingy to me, doesn't like being away from me. However, she has been allowed lots of settling in sessions at her own pace and to suit us as parents. Her key worker has gone above and beyond with our daughter to settle her into her new environment, using lots of patience, singing, smiling and warmth towards her.
My daughter settled in very well.
A fantastic nursery. My eldest son has just left pre-school and he had a wonderful time. My youngest is still attending and loves going to nursery, this is because all of the staff go above and beyond in the care they offer.
The overall care at Windermere is excellent. Thse staff take time to get to know our son and provide for his needs. The food is of high quality and varies well to ensure he is well nourished. Learning activities are well planned and we are communicated with regarding focuses for these. The nursery both indoors and out is kept clean and safeguarding is clearly of high priority with procedures in place. Nursery fees nationally are high but for what we pay, we feel we get a good service. Sometimes there have been confusions regarding moving room and keyworker etc but these were resolved.

What is your favourite feature of Windermere? My favourite feature is the large and spacious garden which is quiet and calming with lots of areas for the children to explore. The nursery rooms are not only separated for the age groups but also have separate rooms within those areas, allowing lots of free flow for the children to aid us in creating fantastic, engaging, enabling environments.
I am most proud of the long-standing experienced team, that works together supporting each other and sharing ideas and knowledge of the children we care for to make sure each child experiences the best day every day. There is a good team spirit on the whole and a “want to achieve attitude”.
