We enrolled our daughter in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic owing to both parents being keyworkers. This was naturally a considerably stressful time and we wanted the impact on our daughter to be minimal. Acorn has provided our daughter with the most wonderful environment to learn, socialise and has created strong relationships with the amazing staff at Burton. Communication is second to none - the app provides a safety blanket for any parent who is worried about a transition. The staff are amazing (her keyworker is so understanding and down to earth) and have provided a home from home when we have to work. Activities are innovative and exciting and we have loved watching our daughter bloom over the last 9 months. Thank you!

I would be extremely likely to recommend Acorn Nursery to anyone willing to listen! My two-year-old son settled incredibly well with a rushed settling in period due to family illness and lack of childcare bubble. The staff are welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble. The activity reports and observations are a delight. I thoroughly enjoy seeing what he gets up to - most activities I wouldn’t dream of doing at home. He gets a varied mix of play which supports his learning. Forest school is the icing on the cake! Food is a highlight too - he’s trying and being offered cuisine from around the world. How wonderful. His speech is coming on leaps and bounds. 5 stars from me and my husband. Just wish we had known about Acorn when my five-year-old daughter required a setting. Keep doing what you’re doing Acorn at Burton.

Thoughtful, caring nursery, my child loves all indoor and fun outdoor activities, role-playing and learning so much so fast. I would recommend to whoever needs all year round with a working family, hot meals made, fantastic facility. Helpful in any help needed. I can't praise this nursery enough so much my child has learned in short space of time and enjoys every day going, so much fun.

Perfect nursery for our boys! I love the free flow aspect to the outdoors and how much fun the children have every day getting mucky and being free to really use their imaginations. They take part in so many activities and build really strong relationships with the staff and keyworkers. We had a difficult time with resettling after lockdown but the staff were super supportive and really helped make it a smooth transition. Lots of good manners come home from nursery too!

Acorn is a total gem of a place for our two boys. The staff are awesome and the boys always come back chatting about the play they have had. We have especially valued the partnership approach that has developed, with updates via the app and also at the end of each day, and also really appreciated the flexibility that Acorn has extended in terms of some of the changes we have needed to make and requests for ad hoc days.

I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to share my views of my daughter's relatively new nursery. I had to move her after six months at another nursery, but after a couple of weeks adjustment, she has settled in beautifully. I put this down to the kindness, encouragement and understanding of her ways by the room staff, along with the independence encouraged which suits her personality perfectly. Activities and trips out far exceed her previous setting, including visits to an elderly residential home, the local shop, church for a Christmas performance and weekly forest school sessions which are undertaken by a thoroughly dedicated practitioner come rain, wind or shine. She also gets to enjoy music sessions and football undertaken by external visitors. Sessions are accommodating, particularly where government funding is to be used. Our disappointment by her previous nursery was a total blessing in disguise!

I was very anxious about putting my son into nursery however the amazing colleagues at the nursery completely put myself at ease and my son has settled in wonderfully. Sometimes he does not want to come home! The tasks they do are fun and educational and we can see a huge improvement in his development. He is making friends, having fun and learning all the time. Our youngest will start at this nursery soon and I already know he will be fine as I have seen how great they have taken care of my eldest so far.

My son attends Acorn Day Nursery, the staff there are very friendly, my son has come on a great deal since starting there, they always keep you up to date with the activities, what they have eaten. There's also someone to help with information at the front desk. 100% recommended Acorn Day Nursery.

My little boy absolutely loves it here. The staff were amazing at helping him settle in and he now cries when I pick him up and makes every attempt to stay there. I especially love the fact that it is all on one floor and the children have continuous access to the outside - the main reason we picked this nursery. The Famly app is also a massive reassurance as a parent.

My son has been coming to this nursery since the middle of last year and it was honestly the best decision we made. Even after an unsettled start, the staff were so kind and helpful and have managed to help him settle in so well. Every day when he comes home he has picked up new things and absolutely loves his time and the people that work there. Thank you!

I cannot praise the nursery enough. I genuinely think it must be the best nursery. I am happy to leave my daughter from the beginning. The staff are so kind and caring. My daughters love every member of them. When I pick her up I get feedback as to what has she been doing or happened and anything particularly interesting. Also I can look in their mobile app. They get a visit from the music man, football man, they go to forest school and they do baking with them and much more. She loves it when the ladies plait her hair. She absolutely adored her first key person, she was so nice and helped her through the settling process and others were there to help.

Although we moved, if I had another child I would take her/him there too.

My daughter started at the nursery in January and we couldn’t be happier. She has settled in so well and loves coming to nursery. All the staff are lovely, kind and professional - it really feels like a home from home environment.

Communication is excellent; we love reading and seeing what she has been up to throughout the day. We would highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has a rare chromosome deletion so has global development delays/special needs. Sending her to nursery age 2 was hard but the minute we stepped into Acorns it was decided, and it has been the making of her. Staff are not phased by her needs at all, anything the other children do, she does too, she has lots of friends, she qualifies for amazing 1 to 1 care due to her needs, and staff have truly gone to all lengths to accommodate her. The staff all very genuinely care for the children - it's easy to see, they eat fab food, go outside as much as possible and do lots of extra activities like Halloween/Xmas parties/mother's day breakfasts. The Family app is fab so you can always see what they're doing from photos, to what they have eaten to how many nappies they have had! Our little lady had never smiled due to her chromo deletion - it's what we've been waiting for, but since being at Acorns she does it all the time. An absolutely fab environment for a child with special needs that we highly recommend.
