The environment has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and out-of-school children aged up to 12-years-old.

Friendly, experienced and well-qualified staff are available to give children and parents the support they need.

Staff to children ratios are even better than Ofsted recommend and the nursery offers funded places for eligible children 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

This nursery has been in my life for around 8 years now.
They have shown non-stop support and growth with my four little ones.
My youngest son is the last little one at the nursery and his time there and with his teachers has been amazing.
They have helped him grow from such a shy little boy who
struggled to talk and eat properly to helping him gain confidence and encourage him with his learning and talking. He is now so confident in saying so many words and his appetite has gotten so much better.
Children's 1st has been the best. I will truly miss every single staff member. We are so grateful for you all.

Absolutely amazing nursery. My son loves it there and he made so many lovely friends.
The staff there are welcoming and very friendly and helpful in any situation.
Cosy and friendly environment and so many fun activities for the children to do!
I would recommend this nursery to anyone!

All 3 of my children have attended Children 1st @ Grantham and I have never had any faults. They always come out with smiles on their faces and a thousand amazing stories about their days and they keep up with their dietary needs with them being lactose intolerant. My children have had an amazing start
to their education and preparing them for the future. I and my children are going to miss them dearly 10/10 5 stars.

My boy has been going to Children 1st @ Grantham Nursery coming on three years. He loves all the teachers and the staff are so friendly. He has never really taken well with new people and can be a bit clingy to me and two members of staff, in particular, always give him a big cuddle to soothe him. His
speech has come on leaps and bounds and he’s always so excited to see his friends.

My daughter has been with the Nursery since January 2024. She has been in the Peter Rabbits room and since January has really enjoyed her time there. She is thriving and in just a month we have seen significant improvements to her language and social skills as well as her fine motor and mobility skills
also. We truly believe that the Nursery is a great fit for her and we cannot wait to see what further improvements she will make.

Children 1st is my son's second nursery that he has attended. At his first nursery, he used to cry now and then and be reluctant to go to nursery. But since he joined Children 1st Nursery, he has never refused or cried when coming to this establishment. He is always eager and happy to come to nursery.
That is a testament that he was looked after well and treated with love and care. He has been attending this nursery since October 2023.
Additionally, all the staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. Even if I am late by 5 or 10 minutes during their closing time, the staff/my son's teacher has never complained or displayed their frustration. Therefore, I have given them 5 stars, which they rightly deserve.

I see my son walk confidently and try to visit different parts of the house independently, picks the things he needs and try to communicate, although he needs to learn more words. I would like to see him able to speak simple sentences, identify letters and sing in the coming months.

I cannot praise this nursery enough. In the six months my daughter has been there, she now socialises so much easier, her progress has come along so much, she's always singing from numbers to colours to nursery rhymes, she absolutely loves going to nursery and settled in so well.

My little boy has been attending the nursery since he was 3 months old. He absolutely loves going to nursery every day. He is the most outgoing, social, friendly little boy and he learns so much from nursery - he seems really advanced for his age. The nursery is really accommodating when we have extra
sessions or need to swap things around. It has been a real lifesaver for us as we have no family anywhere local to us to help with childcare.

The best nursery. The ladies are wonderful and caring. As a mother, I was very afraid that the ladies would not calm her down when she cried, but it's wonderful, my daughter is content and happy every day.

I cannot thank this establishment enough for being a friendly, loving environment for my little girl to thrive in. I have had two children attend this nursery and wouldn’t recommend anywhere else. All of the team are friendly and approachable, they make me leaving my daughter an easy transition, to
go to work knowing she’s safe and happy. They are very supportive and nothing is ever too much for them to make changes for work situations that pop up from time to time. My daughter is in her final few months before she transitions to school, this will be very emotional goodbye to Children 1st for my last child attending here. The girls are always happy and give detailed handover on pick up, they provide second to none care for all that attend. Thank you girls, your work is hugely appreciated!

I have 2 children in this nursery, both have attended from the ages of 1.
I have experienced all age-related rooms this nursery has to offer from the baby room to the early years and everyone is fantastic.
From our first visit to Children 1st, all of the staff have made me and my children feel welcome
every day. The staff are certainly what makes this nursery stand out but the facilities here are just as good.
My children have opportunities every day to explore many different stimulating activities and create friendships. I have no doubt that Children’s 1st at Grantham and its staff have created strong foundations for my children’s future. Would recommend this nursery 10/10.

My son had changed nursery since being very unsettled at his previous setting. He started Children’s 1st and my child now begs to go to nursery daily.
I’ve seen such a difference in him already, he’s learnt so much in a short time, he has become much more independent, his social and communication
skills have improved massively and our overall experience with the nursery has been phenomenal.

The nursery is fantastic and the team looking after the kids are truly terrific. Both my kids have attended the nursery. Both have been thriving and enjoying their time at Children First. The manager has so much patience and is always accommodating where she can. I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

Paula Bunn

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Hello, I'm Paula Bunn, Manager at Children 1st @ Grantham.
I have over 20 years childcare experience in different settings and roles. I have the level 3 NNEB qualification, an NVQ in Team Leading and an NVQ in Management.
I started working at the Grantham nursery 3 years ago as a Senior Nursery Nurse in the under 2s unit and was promoted to Deputy Manager overseeing the under 3s unit in January 2014, also supporting our EYT and Manager with the day to day running of the Early Years unit and Nursery as a whole.
I am really enjoying my new role as manager at our Outstanding nursery.
I am extremely passionate about the nursery I work in as I was born nearby and get tremendous job satisfaction seeing the wonderful children we look after learn and develop in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I am also very proud to work for Children 1st, working with the staff at every level to be `The Best`.
