My son has been attending the centre for around a year now, we moved internationally so this was a big transition. The team worked really hard to support him settling in and he has subsequently progressed up through the various rooms well, growing attached to a few teachers particularly. The centre has a well-provisioned outdoor area and they try to take the children out and about when they can, or have organisations come in to run interactive sessions. The facilities are typically British, as is the scale of the building and rooms, traditional. Meals are hot and prepped on-site. It’s overall a good centre and we haven’t had any concerns. Some minor feedback; term reports haven’t always captured or reflected what my son is able to do which is disappointing, key milestones missed. Your child will always receive a lot of care but this isn’t a school-ready or academic centre if that’s important to you, there could be more implemented to help children who are ready begin some phonics etc.
Since moving into the older baby room he has just bloomed and developed so much!
All of the members of staff are lovely from the office staff to the cleaner! The whole nursery team are so caring towards all of the children they look after there and it really makes my day dropping my son off and him wanting to be there with the girls and all of the other children.
I could not be happier with my choice of nursery for my little boy, it's a really lovely place.
Excellent nursery, couldn't be happier with the standard of care, staff always helpful and happy and nothing ever too much trouble, Senco is amazing and management always happy to help with any concerns.
Not only are the children well looked after but the activities are all entertaining and educational. The food is prepared on site and nutritional and varied in tastes too.
Brilliant nursery! My child has come on leaps and bounds since starting there! The staff care for the children as if they were their own. I have 100% trust in leaving my child there. Can not praise all the staff members enough!
I can't praise Hermitage Day Nursery enough. My son started in 2021, being a lockdown baby I was very worried about how he would settle but I shouldn't have worried. He instantly bonded with his key worker and the other staff, and has continued to develop a bond which each key worker when he moves into a new room. His confident and positive social interaction and communication has really improved by going to nursery, and is continually commented on by others. How confident he is around people, adults and children alike. The staff really get to know each child, what they like and dislike and plan activities that suit the children and will make a change if needed to accommodate if my son is not settling well that day. He loves the routine and the food and always eats everything there. The rooms and the outside area have been well thought out and set up. As a worried first-time mum, I have no worries when I drop my son off as I know he really enjoys his time there. Can't recommend enough.
Fantastic nursery! My son loves it and the staff are amazing! They do so many varied activities with the children and getting updates throughout the day is just the best! Would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of sending their children here!
Fabulous nursery, my child has been there for nearly a year and they managed to cope with her being upset and settle her really well. To the point now she loves and runs to the car to go to nursery. Staff are always there to help in the room and also the office, I couldn't ask for more!
My child has been at the nursery since nine months old and I can't fault it. The staff are lovely, the environment is great for the children and communication has always been good. My child loves his key worker and enjoys being part of the community they have built at the nursery.
The rooms are great for all the different ages and the outdoor space is brilliant.
Brilliant nursery, outstanding staff always willing to work with you to benefit your child, my girls love this nursery and always have smiles at the end of the day and lots to tell me about their day
Fantastic nursery, highly recommend! The staff go above and beyond for all the children. My child has been attending for 3.5 years now and has made great friendships and beautiful bonds with the nursery staff. The staff have also been a massive support for myself and my partner through my child's ASD diagnosis journey, which I can't thank them enough. I will be very sad when my child has to leave this nursery to go to school this year. Thank you to each and every one of you for what you do, we as a family truly appreciate it!
This is our second child at this nursery and we're very happy. It's always encouraging when you drop your child off and they're happy to be there. We've never had a situation where either of our children have been clingy and not wanted to be left, despite being slightly hesitant on their first few days. They always seem to be having lots of fun in the different activities and the carers take a real interest in the children.
Hermitage Nursery School is amazing! We have two children that go there and one of them has SEND needs, the staff there have helped him so much and supported us as a family. I can't recommend them enough.
I am a mummy to 6 children and our 2nd and 3rd children attended this nursery. We as a family viewed 9 nurseries. We were willing to travel as far as we needed to find the perfect setting. We as parents struggle to leave our children even with family but felt very comfortable and confident with the wonderful staff here and felt our children settled well. Our 4th child started this January and the same wonderful staff are taking great care of our not so confident little girl but is becoming more independent and her confidence grows daily. There is nowhere else I would rather my children be. Our 5th child is due to start this September and is already looking forward to starting. The staff are just wonderful, the setting is safe and exciting for our little ones and the communication is fantastic. Seeing our daughter's updates of what activities she's been doing is lovely. I always recommend this nursery and have friends with little ones there that share the same wonderful views.
Fantastic nursery, both my children have/do attend and are always happy to go, the staff are lovely and so caring leaving me confident that my son is looked after and safe all day, excellent app that the staff update throughout the day.
Brilliant nursery, both my children love(d) Hermitage Nursery School, my eldest has now moved to school and felt really well prepared with the help of the nursery staff - she misses nursery and still talks about it. My youngest is well supported, particularly when he went through behavioural issues. The staff are all lovely.
I know he will always be well looked after and know they will help comfort him if they need to.
The activities the staff plan for my child are very enjoyable, creative and imaginative. The nursery engages in all aspects of my child needs, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physiologically and nutritional needs.
The staff adore the children, and show the upmost respect to each other and the service users. A bonus is my child loves the food provided
Staff listen to my wishes and wants and implement it into my child's care needs. The staff's communication is excellent, my child's daily report is thorough.
Staff understand how crucial play is for her development and is co-operated within the day which allows her to learn and have fun at the same time.
I have noticed the nursery is always clean and tidy and encourages my child to help pick up toys. Thank you for the love and support you have given my child.
She has grown in confidence and developed so well. She adores her key workers in her room.
All staff are wonderful, friendly and kind and interact brilliantly with the children.
All the staff are great from the office staff, room staff and the wonderful ladies who prepare all the food. (The meals are my daughters favourite part and it is good to know they are made fresh on-site).
The nursery were brilliant throughout Covid (and now with precautions) and continue to look after my daughter (and all children) giving her that bit of normal that Covid took away.
The online log is great to see the daily updates and observations plus photos and videos of my daughters achievements and activities. Parent's evening and events like the childrens Christmas parties and carol concerts are lovely for the children too. I have already enrolled my youngest daughter. I can't recommend enough!
