My son has been out of nursery since March and the team helped him settle in effortlessly. I was anxious about him returning to school and moreover starting a new school altogether. He has been so happy and I can see that he is engaging positively with all the activities. Really happy mum.

My son has been attending this nursery since April 2018 when he was 15 months old, he started off in the bobtails room and the staff were amazing with him. I always got a thorough handover when I collected him and I was kept up to date with his progress. He's now 3 and recently moved into the early...
All of the staff at the nursery are all cheerful and always happy to help, when we started potty training our son they made sure that he wore pants at nursery and given the opportunity to use the toilet and follow whatever routine we had at home.
I've recently had my second baby and when I return to work I will definitely be enrolling him with Children 1st @ Leicester!

The cost is very high in my opinion but this reflects in the service that is delivered by all staff.
My recommendations would be to increase the size of the outside pram storage building as it is currently not big enough for the amount of prams being stored in there. This results in your child's pram/buggy getting bruised and battered by others who are trying to get their pram/buggy out of the storage building.
I would also recommend that they bring back the healthy snacks that they use to leave out every day for the children for the journey home. This used to be fresh fruit or dried fruit but in the last six months we have noticed that on many days there is nothing left out? We are not sure why this is.

Knowing that this nursery has an outstanding rate and after paying my daughter’s nonreturnable (save a place fee) and the high price list compared to other nurseries in town, I am honestly very disappointed. Knowing that this nursery has an outstanding rate and after paying my daughter’s nonreturnable (save a place fee) and the high price list compared to other nurseries in town, I am honestly very disappointed. I feel really bad whenever I remember my time in there. First, as a mum, I have never been given the support and sympathy of being new to leaving my daughter. The manager and most of the staff I met there were all rushing to do paperwork and finish the duties of their job. I didn’t feel that there is genuine affection towards working with kids. When raising a situation, I witnessed a little boy who was crying for quite a long period with no one to approach him to kind of assure him. I felt terrible especially as there was one member of staff who had a kid with her and was sitting just watching. The manager told me about tough love. The nursery’s room was packed with children, the area is small compared with the number of children which doesn't allow the kids freedom.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our outstanding nursery setting. We are very sorry that you were unable to spend more time in the nursery getting to know the wonderful staff team and caring manager, allowing us to support you with our tried and tested settling in procedures. The manager is sad that you interpreted the discussion regarding strategies for settling children as 'tough love', as this is not a term she would ever use. We do wish you all the best.

She has learnt far more than we expected at an early age and they have looked after her on a one to one basis when required. She has grown very fond of the staff there. Thank you to Children 1st @ Leicester and all of the staff for looking after our little girl.
Satisfactory but I had no problem with taking my child out. There could be improvements on presentation of rooms and relationship with parents. Feedback about my child's day could be filled in properly. Some aspects of it were good and some staff were nice. My child just didn't seem to settle well...

My daughter was just 6 months when started going there and she got used to everyone there after the first week which we did not expect to happen so quickly, now she does love it and enjoys her time there.

The staff are so marvellous, great to be with, always ready to attend to you and your child. A very good relationship with the children.

My daughter started at Children 1st age 14 months. She hadn't started walking and didn't spend much time around other children before this. I am so pleased that I made the decision for her to attend nursery despite my apprehensions. She has developed in confidence, is walking, developed her speech...
I don't have anything negative to say about Children 1st.
My daughter's speech, confidence and overall development have improved since she started this nursery. I also noticed children are always engaged and not left by themselves and the nursery workers are friendly, caring and very supportive. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

A fantastic nursery that has really helped to progress my daughter's development at lightning speed. She has been there since February 2017 and she loves going to nursery. The staff are all very friendly and always happy to help and guide us. Would thoroughly recommend this nursery.

I'm really very happy with her progress as she is new to the UK, but now she is able to speak English sentences. Staff are friendly and caring and hygiene is good.

The nursery is situated near the town where you are able to connect to different areas easily. There is a good car park at the site. The nursery offers excellent care and services. The toilets are always smart and clean. The manager is available when you need her and she can respond to matters arising (she is very good). Children are encouraged to eat 5 a day, they provide different fruit every day and fresh water to encourage the children to drink water.

We are now back with our second child! It’s great that so many of the team that looked after our first child are still here, it’s nice to see familiar faces. They do a very good job and provide so much more than basic childcare. We really like seeing the daily activities on the app. We’re very happy we chose this nursery and would recommend it to others.
Our daughter attends the nursery and is extremely happy. She is well looked after whilst mummy and daddy work hard looking after less fortunate members of the community. She is always happy and smiling and we have a comprehensive handover.

About Me
I began my career in early years education as an apprentice and have progressed through a variety of roles, including Senior Practitioner, Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager. Having spent my entire career at the nursery, I have developed a wide range of skills and experience that I now enjoy sharing with and passing on to our team.
I hold a Level 3 NVQ qualification and am passionate about supporting both children and staff to reach their full potential. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is watching children grow in confidence and independence. Knowing that I have played a part in helping a child develop new skills and self-belief is incredibly fulfilling.
I am equally proud to see members of our team progress in their careers, achieve their goals and grow into new opportunities within early years education.
What makes me passionate about our nursery is the positive, happy atmosphere. Walking into our rooms and seeing children smiling, learning new life skills and having fun alongside our dedicated practitioners is truly inspiring. The warmth, energy and sense of belonging throughout the nursery make it a wonderful place to be, and I believe that's exactly how every child should feel when they are with us.
