Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough provide an extensive range of resources and activities throughout their purpose-built centre with four childcare rooms across two floors.

The team are dedicated to providing the best care for your children, ensuring that they stay happy and stimulated every day with a variety of activities throughout the nursery. This nursery provides a free-flowing system from the pre-school room which leads to the main room so the children can explore a variety of activities and resources. The main room includes both imaginative and quiet areas, leading onto a craft and creative section, an ICT suite and a library.

Busy Bees Chesterfield also features a wonderful, landscaped adventure garden so that the children can enjoy some refreshing outdoor play, exploring in an exciting yet safe outdoor space.

The baby rooms at Chesterfield Barlborough have their own safe and secure outdoor balcony so that even the littlest ones can also enjoy the fresh air during their time at nursery.

With an onsite Chef who freshly prepares nutritious and delicious meals from NHS Start Well accredited, the children enjoy their meals in a spacious hall with self-serve opportunities to help them prepare for school dinner times.

Busy Bees Barlborough is an amazing setting. The team who work there go above and beyond for my child. They are patient, caring and above all my child feels safe there. The team are beyond patient with my daughter who has additional needs and a limited diet and always provide her with her safe foods.
My daughter is always more than happy to attend nursery and she always has a smile on her face when I collect her. By far the best nursery there is and will always be the best.

Busy Bees is a fantastic nursery! We have used them for the last 4 years and the staff have always been fantastic. It is a lovely, clean setting with lots of different things to engage the children which are changed on a regular basis. Everyone always has a smile and are always willing to help in any
way that they can. Both my daughters love it there. I think it has done wonders for their confidence and they have learnt so much. 100% would recommend to anyone.

An amazing nursery with really good facilities and a brand new outdoor playground. My son loves spending his days there and I can see him thriving there every day. All staff members are really friendly and caring. I strongly recommend this nursery.

Can’t recommend this nursery enough. Our daughter has been going to Busy Bees since she was 10 months old, she is now 4 and ready to start her journey at big school in September. All her teachers have been amazing! We are very happy with her development whilst being at nursery, in preparation for her
joining school. The teachers are passionate about their jobs, and there are a fair few that go above and beyond. We are very thankful and appreciate what they have done for our daughter. I never worry about leaving my child in their hands! She loves going and spending time with her friends and teachers. Thank you! Once again absolutely amazing nursery!

My son has been attending Busy Bees since January 2022. The thought of leaving him at first was scary, but from the initial meeting and the settling-in days I knew straight away he was going to be OK and so would I. Busy Bees is a great nursery which I would 100% recommend to anyone. The staff are lovely
and friendly, the communication is brilliant and the daily updates are great to see when I'm at work. Since day one all the staff in his rooms have been great, and his key workers have been fantastic with him and he can't wait to get there to see them! He's thrived since he started and I can't thank everyone enough for everything.

I would highly recommend Busy Bees Nursery for your child, the nursery and staff are incredible. Both my daughter (now at school) and baby (10 months) attend weekly. I would like to give a special mention to my son's key worker, she is fantastic and goes above and beyond what is expected within her
role. She puts me at ease and is very informative on collection. The app which is used at the nursery is perfect for me as I am able to receive notifications throughout the day on what my son has been doing.

My son has attended Busy Bees Nursery in Barlborough since I returned to work after maternity leave in April 2020. It was daunting as a first time mum trusting others with the littlest love of my life but it is a decision I will never regret. He has flourished and grown under their care and the relationships
he has made with both staff and other children will last a lifetime. The nursery has just had a garden refurb which is incredible and gives the children the opportunity to be wild and free but they also dedicate time to learning and helping development progression. My son has been lucky to spend time in all rooms available and all have devoted time and love towards him. I will forever be grateful and will be sad when he graduates this year and goes to primary school in September.

My son absolutely loves going to nursery and has settled in so well since joining in January. The nursery have been amazing with his allergies and eczema and have supported us throughout.
The app is so good to keep my mind at ease as it keeps me up-to-date throughout the day with what he is doing
and eating, with pics and updates on his development.
I would highly recommend the nursery.

Both my children go to Busy Bees Nursery. For my eldest daughter, this is the second nursery she has been to and the Busy Bees, Barlborough's standard is so much better than we had previously experienced. All the staff are so brilliant and they feel like friends/family, nothing is too much trouble and
they really make an effort with both the parents and the children.
The staff make the transition for children so comfortable. When my children have been upset they've offered for me to call throughout the day to check in on them, they're always fine but it's so nice that the staff don't mind the calls, they always give the impression that nothing is too much trouble.
Staff have also been doing a lot of fundraising for children within the nursery and that's great to see.
The nursery adds updates to the app regularly and you can see what the children have been up to and eaten etc. It's a really great nursery which I often recommend to neighbours and friends.

Both my boys love it at Busy Bees and have been going since they were both 6 months old!
I have seen such development with both my boys in confidence, speaking, multiple skills and my eldest who is 3 years old, his numeracy skills are coming along amazingly. I have no doubt Busy Bees will prepare him
well for school in September!
Busy Bees have also been really great and flexible working around my partner's job as she works shifts which is extremely helpful!
I would definitely recommend Busy Bees to anyone and will continue to use them in the future.

Busy Bees, Barlborough is an absolutely fantastic nursery and I honestly cannot thank the staff enough for the care, support and education they provide for my children. I feel completely at ease dropping my children off, as I know the care they receive is exemplary.
My daughter joined Busy Bees in
March 2021 when she was 11 months old, the nursery was the first one we approached and we felt we didn't need to look around as we were so impressed with the initial meeting. The way the COVID situation was handled at Busy Bees, Barlborough was so thoroughly thought out, ensuring safety for both children and staff.
Our son started with the nursery at the beginning of this year, at 6 months old, something we were nervous about due to his young age. The staff in the baby room are absolutely outstanding and we cannot give them enough praise for how they have helped him settle in.
I would recommend this nursery to any parent, your children will be so happy and absolutely thrive here!

My daughter absolutely loves going to Busy Bees, she's been going since she was 9 months old and settled in straight away. Staff are very professional and nothing is too much trouble. They've supported us with our daughter's food allergies and even did daily exercises with her when physio recommended
she needed them. I highly recommend them.

Both my little ones attend Busy Bees and it’s absolutely fantastic! My son has been attending this nursery since he was around 9 months old. Being a covid baby he wasn't used to strangers at all, this made it a very hard time for me and him when coming to separating from each other, the nursery kept me up to date with how he was every day. Nothing is ever too much for
the team there.
They use an app, so you can follow as much as you want or not, from knowing about nappy, naps, food, play and the photos you get of your little one playing and learning is just great. You can have a chat with your child's key person every day when you collect them as well.
Everyone in the nursery knows every child's name, no matter which room they are in. It amazes me! They have recently had the garden redone and it's such a wonderful safe outdoor space for the children. Knowing that my boy has the outdoor space is just another added bonus.
He has learnt so much while at nursery. I really believe it's helped him grow in confidence and the speed of learning things.

I would highly recommend Busy Bees at Barlborough. My son has been going almost 3 years and loves it and his younger brother will be going later in the year. All the staff are very caring and enthusiastic about what they do and I cannot fault anything. The food is varied, I know he is eating well when
he is there and he is learning an enormous amount. The building is well maintained and they have just had the outdoor play areas entirely refurbished.

My son has been attending this nursery for just over a year now and I have to say the staff are excellent. I feel at ease leaving him in their care and I am confident that he is well looked after and has a lot of fun. The staff made his transition into nursery very comfortable, they are understanding
and go at your pace. He has learnt so much at nursery and made a lot of friends, it is easy to see that he has a lot of fun from the pictures posted on the app and things he brings home. The parent app has been a brilliant new addition to nursery life as I get updates throughout the day on what he has had to eat, how much sleep he has had and pictures of what he has been playing with. This is a great nursery and I would recommend it to anyone.

I haven't got a bad word to say about this nursery. My eldest son started here at nine months old, after I returned to work. As a first time mother I was a rabbit in the headlights but the manager and two other staff members seemed to take the lead in settling my nerves and ensuring my son was one hundred
percent happy. From there, he has moved up rooms twice, with his age and development's he has progressed so well and we couldn't be happier with the support we are given. He is now two years old and with one particular member of staff's help, he is progressing into a well rounded toddler. We will be sending our youngest son to the nursery once I am back at work and have no doubts he will be happy and looked after so well!

After searching the area for a nursery, I decided upon Busy Bees at Chesterfield Barlborough, for one simple reason, the people. From the minute I walked into that door, I felt like I was with friends. The staff are by far the stand out of this nursery and two years down the line, I believe that statement
even more so. Four particular members of the team are a wonderful group of people. I mention these particular four because they have been fundamental in my daughter's nursery care but every single one of them deserve a mention. I also want to mention that these guys have been absolute heroes during the pandemic, not a day where you are not greeted with a smile despite the potential risk they are facing being key workers. I want to finish by saying when my little one first started she was clinging to me not to leave, now she leaps out of the car and straight to the door or cones if there is a queue because she loves it that much. Busy Bees at Chesterfield Barlborough you are the best. Thank you!

The staff are doing such a wonderful job in these difficult and trying times. They go over and above to reassure you and keep you up to date. My son started when he was one, he’s now three and is settled and happy. Initially, drop-offs at the nursery were tricky as my son would become upset. However,
with the support of the staff, he now smiles as he goes through the door. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the manager is always on hand to answer questions.

The team at Busy Bees at Chesterfield Barlborough have always worked incredibly hard to make sure that our son feels welcome and at home while in their care. This has been especially true over the last twelve months when things have been so difficult for everyone. Busy Bees at Chesterfield Barlborough
has been the one constant in our lives. We have complete confidence that our little boy is being cared for in a safe environment. He loves going to nursery and the feedback we get from his keywords has always been informative and thoughtful. Thank you to everyone at Busy Bees at Chesterfield Barlborough for always going above and beyond for our children.

Hello, my name is Katherine and I am the Assistant Centre Director here at Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough. I have been with Chesterfield Barlborough since 2015. I am very passionate about the children and families that we care for at our centre. I pride myself on having strong partnerships with parents and really enjoy getting to know them so can I ensure their little one is provided with the best start in life?


Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my little girl and family. We love to get outdoors and explore the beautiful countryside that is on our doorstep.

Job Title: Centre Director

Hello, my name is Stacey and I am the Centre Director here at Chesterfield Barlborough. 


From stepping foot in a nursery as a little girl, I have always wanted to be a 'Mrs Teach' and look after children. 


Most of my experience is in managing and working in a busy baby room where the needs of every child are paramount and I cascade my knowledge to the whole of my amazing staff team. 


I even won Centre Director of the Year in 2020 with Busy Bees!
