Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough provide an extensive range of resources and activities throughout their purpose-built centre with four childcare rooms across two floors.

The team are dedicated to providing the best care for your children, ensuring that they stay happy and stimulated every day with a variety of activities throughout the nursery. This nursery provides a free-flowing system from the pre-school room which leads to the main room so the children can explore a variety of activities and resources. The main room includes both imaginative and quiet areas, leading onto a craft and creative section, an ICT suite and a library.

Busy Bees Chesterfield also features a wonderful, landscaped adventure garden so that the children can enjoy some refreshing outdoor play, exploring in an exciting yet safe outdoor space.

We first sent our oldest to Busy Bees Barlborough in August 2022 and she is set to leave in September to go to school. We also began sending our second daughter in 2024 and are planning to send our youngest from March 2026. I can't speak highly enough of the staff and the facility. It's such a fantastic
place and we know our children are safe, loved and well looked after. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a nursery.

We couldn't be happier with Busy Bees nursery. Since my son started in September, the girls have been so welcoming, caring and supportive, making his transition into nursery life feel completely natural. We absolutely love the daily photos and constant updates - it's so reassuring to see what he's been
up to and know that nothing is missed.
The themed events are always fantastic, from Pudsey Day and Santa's visit to lovely tea parties. So much thought and effort clearly goes into making each day fun and memorable for the children.
A special mention must go to Laura and Shannon, who have been wonderful with my son. He talks about them all the time at home, which says everything about the bond they've built and how happy he feels in their care.
The management team are amazing too - Stacey is incredibly kind, warm and approachable, and the whole team works seamlessly together. We are so grateful for everything you do. Keep it up!

My daughter has just started at Busy Bees aged 1.Prior to this my son attended from aged 10 months until starting reception. With both children i cannot fault the nursery.
I have never worried when my children are there and the staff are caring and go above and beyond.
I reccomend it to everyone!

Our experience has been nothing but amazing for our boy. Since going full time from mid 2025 he has come on leaps and bounds. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, always have smiles on their faces. Would highly recommend. :)

I have always been extremely happy with the care that both my children have received at this nursery, my eldest is now at school but my youngest still attends three times a week.The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring, and both children settled in quickly and happily from the start.
My
eldest child has additional SEN needs, and the support provided was outstanding. Everyone has always worked closely with me and helped put everything in place for her future in school, we wouldn't be where we are today without all of the busy bees team!
Both of my girls have made fantastic progress during their time there. I am and always will be very grateful to the whole team for all their support and I have always highly recommend this nursery to any family.

The team were fantastic when our daughter started with them at 1 year old.
Stacey was great answering all of our questions as it was our first interaction with nursery.
She organised lots of settling in sessions which helped our daughter adjust to her new environment, and when it took her a little
longer than most they volunteered more sessions and adapted a plan to suit her.
Megan was fantastic as her key worker, really reassuring for our daughter and kept us up to date of her progress. The whole of the Bombos 1 team were welcoming, warm and nurturing, we couldn't have asked for more.

Every time Alexander and I arrive at the Nursery we are greeted with a big smile and a welcome at the door, and when we arrive at his nursery room we are once again greeted, the staff are very friendly and happy to welcome Alex in.
During the day I get frequent updates and photos and it brings me
great joy to see how well he is being looked after and how happy and active he is. The team work very hard to make sure he is learning and having fun which is reassuring, especially as new parents going through the process of leaving our child with new people frequently for the first time.
We are very happy with our choice of nursery. The staff at Busy Bees are amazing and I wouldn't think twice when recommending them to other parents.

I cannot recommend Busy Bees Barlborough enough; it truly lives up to its 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating. Having sent both of my children here, I can say with confidence that the care is exceptional. From the moment we joined, Centre Director Stacey and the entire team have been incredible. The staff are
so warm and professional, and I'm always impressed that they genuinely know every child by name. It is such a relief to leave Mabel in such a nurturing environment where the care feels so deeply personalized. My children have both absolutely loved the landscaped adventure garden and the free-flow pre-school room. Lately, it's been wonderful to see how the curriculum has sparked Mabel's interest in learning-it is a truly stimulating environment. Plus, as a busy parent, the communication via the Busy Bees app is a lifesaver. The photos and updates keep me feeling connected to her day, no matter how hectic mine is. It's a fantastic nursery that I would recommend to anyone.

Before my little boy started he could barely walk with aid and only speak a hand full of words. But since he started busy bees he walks unaided (even attempts to run) and can now form short sentences. His social development has come on so much and has all been possible because of the support of all
the staff that of part of his journey there. I can't praise them enough for all the hard work they do.

We've had a fantastic experience so far with Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough. We had a very well thought out and graduated transition in for both children, which made their start so much easier. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and professional, and I feel they have genuine interest and care
for the children they are looking after.
The baby room team are brilliant - I love getting daily photos of what my son has been up to, and it's so lovely to see how comfortable he is with his key worker and familiar staff.
The Buzz 2 team are also great, I love how they 'get' my daughter and encourage her, and tailor activities to help her progress (e.g. spelling her name!)
Communication has been fab too.
Couldn't ask for anything more!

You are always welcomed with a friendly face and a cheery hello.
There is lots of communication at both drop off and pick up and the updates on the app throughout the day are fab.
My daughter thrives there and has learnt so much since starting. My eldest son had the same pleasant time here before
starting school and I'm so happy the same faces are there now too with my daughter.
The garden area is great, there's so much to play with and do inside and out, and my daughter has lots to tell me about her day on our way home.
I've had conversations with some staff members that il never ever forget and their kindness is greatly appreciated! The place overall is fab and we will always have fond memories of the nursery and the staff who make it such a homely place for the little ones' first years.
They really do go above and beyond for the families and Barlborough is nothing but the best.

This is an excellent nursery and I would highly recommend them. All staff do their absolute best for the children and always greet them with a smile and friendly face.

So happy with the nursery! All the staff are so welcoming and friendly and I feel so safe leaving my child in their care. They really do adapt to help each child individually which I love.

An absolutely amazing nursery. My daughter has come on so much since she started at 6 months old and that's a credit to the staff - big shout out to everyone in Bombos 1!

What a fabulous establishment! My grandson loves it here. We get greeted every session with a smile from all the workers regardless of the room they work in. My granddaughter has been at the nursery for well over a year now. From her first day, she has been nurtured, stimulated, engaged, encouraged and happy. Each room has been wonderful with her. She has become a confident, outgoing individual, who is progressing well across the EYFS. She always enjoys
nursery, comes home with paintings, or other items she's created. The portal used is incredibly informative, with pictures on a daily basis and regular snapshots of achievements. Everything is logged throughout the day, giving you ongoing updates. All good eaten, or not, is recorded too.
Every member of staff you see when dropping off or collecting is pleasant, friendly and helpful. The safeguarding measures are well-embedded and children are safe in the building. If an additional session is required, they go above and beyond to manage this for you. I would recommend Busy Bees to any parent, so much so, that my twin granddaughters are also starting here at the end of February.

Hello, my name is Katherine and I am the Assistant Centre Director here at Busy Bees Chesterfield Barlborough. I have been with Chesterfield Barlborough since 2015. I am very passionate about the children and families that we care for at our centre. I pride myself on having strong partnerships with parents and really enjoy getting to know them so can I ensure their little one is provided with the best start in life?


Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my little girl and family. We love to get outdoors and explore the beautiful countryside that is on our doorstep.

From stepping foot in a nursery as a little girl, I have always wanted to be a 'Mrs Teach' and look after children. 


Most of my experience is in managing and working in a busy baby room where the needs of every child are paramount and I cascade my knowledge to the whole of my amazing staff team. 


I even won Centre Director of the Year in 2020 with Busy Bees!
