Children 1st Clowne Nursery School is surrounded by lovely countryside within easy reach of the town centre. The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and 'out of school' children from birth to twelve years.

Age-appropriate rooms create an imaginative learning environment for the children and are staffed by an enthusiastic and highly trained early years team.

The toddler room features an ‘up, up and away’ sensory pod, offering a quiet space where the children can experience a cosy, safe ambience. The pre-school children have access to a split-level mezzanine where they can immerse themselves into role play or hide away for a quiet story in the reading area.

The nursery also features a ‘jungle room’ which provides the children with an adventure full of slopes, tunnels and a ball pool.

My twin girls attend this nursery and they absolutely love going. They're always enthusiastic to go and enjoy all the activities that are on offer throughout the morning. If I’ve had any issues the staff have always gone out of their way to deal with them. All the staff are lovely and very welcoming.

Very professional and caring staff. Offering support to both parents and children. I have every confidence that my son is getting the best care, education and stability needed in his life. My daughter is in her last year with Breedon House. She loves going to nursery, we have never had any issues or cause for concern. She comes home and tells me all the activities she does at nursery and about her best friend. She loves all her key workers and is currently enjoying being one of the “big
guys”. She has definitely benefited from the learning with her language and writing skills. And as a fussy eater, she never falters at meal times....I’m still trying to find out what makes “nursery carrots” so much nicer than mums!

My daughter has been at the nursery for over 3 years, it is a great place for children to learn and build their confidence. Excellent teachers, excellent teaching activities. I truly believe my daughter has progressed in her speech and her interaction skills through being at the nursery

My daughter has been attending since she was 4 months old and I don't know where we would have been without the support of the team at Children 1st @ Clowne. I'm self-employed so I needed to get back to work and knowing my daughter is not only safe but happy is a weight off.

My little one has been attending Children 1st @ Clowne now for around 9 months. What I particularly like about the nursery are the people, the nursery staff in the rooms who look after my little one. They really know him, when he's happy and when he's having a grumpy day, all his mannerisms etc. Recently,
two of his friends moved up rooms and this unsettled him a little so the workers took him to see his friends and really made his day. It's small things like this that make me feel confident leaving him in their care.

Exceptional nursery with very pleasant staff that are always happy to help. A warm welcome is always given to both children and parents/care givers with children being called by their name on arrival. Children have a good mixture of outdoor play and crafts along with following their EY curriculum. As
a parent, I feel that I am informed of my little one's progress by several different mediums such as a daily book that comes home with my little one to tell me what they have been doing during the day as well as what they have eaten etc. We are also kept up to date via the EY log. A portal that allows you to keep up to date with their progress and view photos of special achievements. The nursery also holds parents evenings from certain ages for a more formal review of progress.


All in all very happy with his progress and a big thank you to all nursery staff that make this happen for my little one and all the others at Children 1st @Clowne.

Our son has been attending Breedon @ Clowne since he was 9/10 months old. He settled really well and loves going to play with his friends. He is now 2 and moved up through 3 different rooms, each meeting the changes in his needs as his development moves on. It is more expensive than other settings but
I think the extra you pay is worth it. Thank you.

I couldn’t wish for a better nursery. My daughter has only been attending this nursery since September 2017 but she has come on so much with her learning. All members of staff are friendly and very easy to approach if you have any questions or queries.

Both of my children (5yrs and 3yrs) have attended this nursery since before they were 1. I have never had a complaint! The quality of the staff interactions, facilities and education delivered is second to none. I am confident about the good quality of care and knowing that my child is in a friendly
and safe environment whilst I’m at work enables me to concentrate on my job whilst they have been enjoying themselves, learning and socialising.

Fantastic with my little boy. The staff take care of him how I would, always there for a cuddle when needed. The staff have been fantastic with his lactose intolerance ensuring his dietary requirements are met.
