Children 1st Clowne Nursery School is surrounded by lovely countryside within easy reach of the town centre. The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and 'out of school' children from birth to twelve years.

Age-appropriate rooms create an imaginative learning environment for the children and are staffed by an enthusiastic and highly trained early years team.

The toddler room features an ‘up, up and away’ sensory pod, offering a quiet space where the children can experience a cosy, safe ambience. The pre-school children have access to a split-level mezzanine where they can immerse themselves into role play or hide away for a quiet story in the reading area.

The nursery also features a ‘jungle room’ which provides the children with an adventure full of slopes, tunnels and a ball pool.

My son thoroughly enjoys his time at nursery. I have noticed that he has gained confidence and independence and loves playing with all his nursery friends.
I cannot praise the staff enough for the care they provide. The facilities are amazing and the environment is always clean and tidy.

My child and us as parents, absolutely love Children First and there’s nothing we could say that needs improving. Our child has learned so much since attending this nursery and he’s coming on so well. He has been in a couple of different rooms with a couple of different key workers and they have all
been as amazing as the last. Even family members have commented when they have come to pick up on occasion, how great the facilities are and our child’s development is. We also really love that they always take everyone outside to play.

We have never had any issues at nursery. My daughter absolutely loves it and skips into nursery every day smiling. She learns so much and it's so nice to see her use the skills at home she has learnt at nursery. She is such a rounded little girl and I think this is definitely partly down to her time
at nursery. The facilities are amazing and I can't praise them enough.

I would highly recommend this nursery. The staff are lovely and friendly and easy to talk to. The nursery itself is lovely and bright with lots of fun toys to play with to keep the mind active. They do alot with the children outside too in the play areas. There is an excellent food menu with a great
array of different foods.

Our little one has loved going to Children 1st @ Clowne from day one. He's developing amazingly with help from all the wonderful staff that work there. The environment is always clean, clam and happy. My son loves his meal times there which are always a varied healthy diet. It really does get 5 stars

I have found the nursery has helped my son to gain confidence in a safe environment giving him more freedom than I would give him due to me over supervising. He has a close bond with most of the staff and has made some special friends. I believe the staff truly care for my child as their own giving
me the confidence to up his hairs knowing he is safe and happy.

Amazing nursery. My 2-year-old wasn't talking when he started Children 1st @ Clowne in September and now he says everything. The staff are all really polite and all greet us as we walk in. I would recommend this nursery to everyone and I can't thank the staff enough for everything they have done and
continue to do for my little boy.

Our child has developed superbly in this nursery. They receive excellent care from all the staff who are able to meet his individual needs. Staff are aware of their preferences and personality characteristics, individualising the care they receive. Our child has been able to form friendships with peers
and staff within the nursery. They amaze us with the learning they can demonstrate at home. Our child openly shares that they enjoy attending and being part of this nursery.

Amazing standard of care. I brought my son when he was 5 months old for 2 days a week after viewing 5 other nurseries locally and this was the best by miles. The facilities are unmatched and to be honest I would like to attend myself! Wouldn’t hesitate to keep him here for many years and do encourage
others to send their children here too to see if it’s right for them.


Great food served and my son is always clean and happy when I collect him.
Accurate logs of what he has done provided in a nice book and a bag.
Evidence of learning.
Photos and updates.
Regular days and activities eg painting and crafts.
Care and diligence when he has been sick or had a small bump.
Baby room staff are incredibly kind and smiley, genuine people I trust my son with.


I know on nursery days he is having a great time and I have no need to worry!

Children 1st @ Clowne is a great environment for my child. The staff are friendly and helpful they work hard to ensure children both enjoy and learn during their time at nursery. I wouldn't want my little boy to go anywhere else.

My daughter has loved going here from day one. A year on and she has made friends, learned so much, the staff are all so friendly and caring and all the children seem to have lots of fun every day.
I love that the children are encouraged to spend as much time as possible outdoors; they are encouraged
to learn, play, be active and creative.
When I see how excited she is to go to nursery in a morning and listening to her telling me all of things she’s done each day. It makes me feel so much better about having to work full time.

Clowne Nursery is fantastic. Our baby started here at 9 months old. We can't fault the staff at all. They're all lovely and friendly. Even the staff from the older groups know my son's name and say good morning to him. He's developing really well both physically and mentally since he started. We love
the app where we can see bits of his time there and updates on his progression. The application was simple and managers always around to ask any questions. Security is really good. Lovely place to send your baby. We always feel comfortable leaving our son here and know he is in good hands. The parent drop off parking spaces are really useful too.

My daughter is very happy at Children 1st and we are therefore very happy with it too. There are great facilities, but more importantly, great care. My daughter has issues eating and is incredibly fussy, the staff continue to persevere with this issue through tears sometimes, in supporting her. I love
the app updates on her progress.


The staff have just done a commendable job helping the children with their nativity! Well done all!

I have used the facilities at Children 1st @ Clowne since both my children were 3 months old, right the way up to them starting school, and they now both go to after school and holiday clubs. They are 5 and 7.
I am sure that their starting out here helped shape them into the bright, confident, sociable
boys that they are.
They have learnt a lot and both were fully prepared for starting school.
Whatever age they were at from tiny babies to schoolboys, I can go to work in the confidence that my children are safe and happy.

My daughter is extremely happy here, the staff are very caring and friendly. The only downside is an occasional lack of communication. This may be because she is only there a couple of days a week.

Friendly staff - the receptionist, the teachers in the rooms, the administrative staff- friendly and helpful.


Freshly cooked meals every day.


My daughter's and my son's key workers and the other support workers in the room are excellent - and pay close attention to my children's needs.
