Children 1st Clowne Nursery School

My little girl has been attending Children 1st in Clowne since she was 9.5 months old, and next month she’ll be two! She’s been in Jemima Puddle-Duck, Bobtail and now Peter Rabbits! When she started, she needed a lot of love and reassurance. Each drop-off was a parent's worst nightmare, and now she smiles when we pull around the corner! She’s still needed some support on a day-to-day basis, especially with moving rooms, and she’s always been greeted with love and support. I look forward to the handover and to hearing all about her adventures - the staff never rush and you can tell they genuinely love their jobs, and spending time with the children. I couldn’t imagine sending my little girl anywhere else!

The staff are incredible and make you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. He was new to the nursery in August and it's a scary time for a parent to leave their child but thank you to the amazing team I now feel eased knowing he is in safe hands and is having lots of fun and learning challenges for his milestone. Very friendly staff and I always feel listened to and valued. Thank you to the team at Clowne, you are all superstars and should be very proud to be a part of such a happy friendly professional team.

Our experience has been amazing, my child is nervous and doesn't want to go in but the teachers make a fuss of him and he's settled in really well, his speech has come on loads and is learning so much.

We can see a big development in her, they help focus on things she is struggling with and keep us posted which is great.

My son has just started here recently and I am over the moon with the way that the staff are towards not just my son but me as well when I pick him up or drop him off, the handovers are very detailed about his day and he absolutely loves it there. The food they serve is exceptional and very nutritious. They provide so many different activities for their children to do and do outdoor play with them every day despite the weather which is so important for children to be outdoors and get fresh air, overall I would highly recommend this to any parent or guardians or children to take your children here.

Our son has attended Children 1st @ Clowne since he was 18 months old and is now in the early years setting. We've always been impressed by all of the staff - very friendly, know the children's names, even if they aren't working in their rooms and great communication with parents. We receive regular observations on how he is developing, alongside good catch-ups at drop-off and handover for how he has been that day, what he has eaten etc. Our son struggled with potty training and they were really supportive of that. Key workers create a great bond with parents and children and all of the ones our son has had in each room have helped him through struggles in development stages and settling into a new environment. The management is very present in the nursery and knows all the families and is available should there be any questions or concerns. Our son really enjoys himself and we are happy knowing he's well cared for.

I can not fault Children 1st @ Clowne at all. I had my son attend when he was 2 years of age and he absolutely loved it. My daughter now attends but wasn’t as confident as my son was so this experience this time round was totally different. With the help of two members of staff, in particular, I really started to notice a change in my daughter within four weeks of her attending. She’s really settling in, we don’t have any tears anymore when I drop her off, she’s excited to see friends and has the best days! The facilities at Children 1st have had a massive impact on my daughter. She has points in which are her favourite that really help her start off the day positively and happy. They also have a huge variety of toys and pretend play for the children. My daughter's grown and learnt so much in six months and it’s thanks to the keyworkers at Children 1st. They’re all so friendly and loving and patient with all the children. There’s not a day goes by when I’m not greeted with a smile. 100% recommend!

The staff have been so welcoming and helpful with settling my daughter with possible additional needs and she looks forward to going and even asked to go on days she’s not in. This is so amazing to see as she was very shy and found it difficult to engage with others. Her speech has come along so much with the encouragement of staff. I am really impressed.

My daughter loves going to nursery and is always well looked after. She learns new things every time. I also love all the activities they do.

The rooms are bright and colorful and the well-equipped area is fantastic. 10/10.

Impossible really to fault this place in any way, and it is in my nature to try! The staff are great, all of them - thorough, kind and attentive. Our child loves being there with all his friends and has come on in his confidence and communication by country miles over the last few months, it is great to see. And he eats everything, often things we haven't thought of at home. We see 'All' eaten in the diary book virtually every day. If you want a top nursery environment to send your child to, without question would recommend the Breedon over at Clowne.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. We have always felt welcomed, listened to and valued. We have made such rapports with the staff and made to feel as a family. My child’s key worker is amazing and my daughter has an amazing bond with her. They have helped bring her skills on and through many changes and disruptions made it an easier transition. If you are looking to send your child here I would 100% recommend Breedon House.

Wow, the effort put in from Children 1st's teachers to get the children to put on an amazing show from start to finish was amazing, can't wait to see next year's, the children were brilliant and so were the decorations, so much time, thought and effort.

Amazing nursery, I can't recommend it enough. We recently moved to the area and I was very apprehensive how our very sensitive toddler would cope with a new nursery and house move at the same time. I needn't have been worried as our little boy loves it and runs in each day. The nursery team are incredibly professional, kind, experienced and seem to genuinely care about the children they look after. The purpose-built facility is spacious, light and clean. I am so grateful of the excellent service you consistently provide. Special thanks to two staff members in particular for your continued hard work, care and understanding. Children 1st @ Clowne is undeniably the best nursery my son has been to. Prior to being there he was delayed with speech, cried on drop-off and was genuinely unsettled. From day one at Children 1st my son has been happy, he has come on tremendously overtaking some of his peers and the difference in him is remarkable and we owe that to the wonderful girls at Children 1st. The manager is a delight and nothing is ever too much, the assistant manager also goes above and beyond! Children 1st @ Clowne is nothing less than outstanding and even at the end of the day, the staff are happy, friendly and welcoming! Couldn’t recommend their supportive environment enough.

I love that we get a daily diary to see what he’s been up to and what meals he’s eaten. The staff appear to consciously plan activities that he enjoys more, like slashing in water outside. We’re also regularly updated on his learning and overall progression. We couldn’t be happier with his progress and with the nursery.

This nursery is an absolutely fantastic nursery. The staff are all so kind, caring and passionate at their jobs. They work so so hard and put everything into the children here. They have gone above and beyond with my children and their work never goes unnoticed. My children love it so much and can’t wait to go in when it’s a nursery day. The nursery itself is of a brilliant set-up. It’s very bright and positive, there’s so much for the little ones to look at and learn. They have great resources and my children’s development has improved so so much from attending here. Absolutely nothing to fault at all. Thank you so much for everything you do.
