Children 1st Clowne Nursery School is surrounded by lovely countryside within easy reach of the town centre. The nursery has been refurbished throughout with bright, open areas for babies, toddlers, early years and 'out of school' children from birth to twelve years.

Age-appropriate rooms create an imaginative learning environment for the children and are staffed by an enthusiastic and highly trained early years team.

The toddler room features an ‘up, up and away’ sensory pod, offering a quiet space where the children can experience a cosy, safe ambience. The pre-school children have access to a split-level mezzanine where they can immerse themselves into role play or hide away for a quiet story in the reading area.

The nursery also features a ‘jungle room’ which provides the children with an adventure full of slopes, tunnels and a ball pool.

The staff at Children 1st @ Clowne are outstanding. My 18 month old loves going to nursery, and I feel he has come on in leaps and bounds since he started 6 months ago. Communication has massively improved in the last couple of months with the new app - the updates are massively appreciated! We are
very happy with the facilities and it is clear the management have the children's' best interests at heart.

My little girl loves going and enjoys all the activities. I love seeing the updates and knowing what she is up to, what she is eating, changes etc. The staff are really kind and helpful and it is really nice when she comes home with painting and a big smile.

We've had a really positive experience with the nursery overall. The staff in the Benjamin Bunny room are so caring and kind. Our little one has made lovely progress since joining. The only small area for improvement would be keeping the app updates a bit more consistently especially as we're in the
middle of potty training, sometimes there are small gaps in the information. Otherwise, we're very happy and grateful our son has a place.

Attended for the Mothers Day workshop set up by the Nursery yesterday and had a fantastic time with my child and it was wonderful to get an insight into their day. My child has a wonderful time each day they go to nursery and has such an amazing relationship with the staff. The only issues I have at
the moment, hence scoring 4 stars, is that since the beginning of the year there seems to be less updates in regards to my child's learning on the parent app, there haven't been any recent timetables available to prepare my child on a weekly basis as to the specific themes for the week or messages in advance via the app for events my child will be getting involved in over the coming month. These issues do not impact on the amazing experiences my child has at this nursery, and I would still always recommend the nursery to anyone.

We have just had the most magical morning for mother's day with my son at children's 1st, they always go above and beyond and i have never felt so comfortable having someone else care for my child, i find this quite difficult being away from the children, but the level of care, and support they give

Really caring staff who go out of their way to help in anyway possible.
Great communication every day from staff about what the children have been doing, any concerns or reasons for praise.
Great fresh cooked meals everyday which allow the children to try new foods, develop social skills during meal
time as well as manners and self help skills.
Everyone is friendly and supportive and greet each child and parent with smiles and kind enc.

I was quite worried about my boy starting nursery in April 2024 but from the moment of me walking through the nursery doors I instantly felt at ease. All the staff at children's 1st clowne are absolutely amazing and treat my boy with such love and care. We have never had any problems and I can go to
work happy knowing my baby is looked after and cared for the same way as he would be with us! I would 100% recommend children's 1st nursery to all my family and friends, everyone here is absolutely amazing. The outdoor and indoor facilities are brilliant for children of all ages, my boy absolutely loves it here and always has so much fun.

Both my Children now attend Children 1st Clowne. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming whether it's a nursery nurse, receptionist or cleaner. Everyone always says hello and never fail to remember the childrens names. Both my children are always happy and smiling at the end of the day which to

Both my children have attended/are attending Children 1st, lovely nursery setting with great members of staff. I am confident and happy that my child is being cared for whilst attending nursery.
The access to activities and the variety of activities set up for the children are really good and both
my children have/do really enjoy these. There are always different trays/tables set up every morning.
The menu and food on offer is amazing, an excellent variety and well planned menu as well as the special menus they put on for different seasons/holidays.
They have got some amazing members of staff and it's quite obvious they really do love their job!

I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Children 1st @ Clowne for looking after my daughter for the past 2 years, she has been taught well and has grown to be a kind and smart young girl with the help of the staff. All staff are kind and approachable and look after all the kids so
well. One teacher, in particular, has been my daughter's favourite since she went into the early year's room last October and throughout the year she has been amazing with both mum and dad. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who asks and look forward to sending my youngest in the near future.

This nursery is great, the staff are caring, attentive, and loving to my son. They are always quick to highlight the positives of his day but are also unafraid of raising developmental or behavioral concerns which is great as they are very willing and able to assist and offer advice and support with
both.
The cherry on the cake top is that my son loves attending and will get very excited to visit and see staff, so much so that sometimes he doesn't want to leave!

We moved to this nursery in September and have been really pleased with our daughter's progress. She has fitted in really well and is well looked after by all staff. The transition has actively helped her development and we feel this is attributed to the room in which she was initially in and has now
moved to the next room. She has a few extra needs and these have been accommodated very well.
Our son moved here in September 2023 and the transition process has been reasonably well. He has forged good relationships with most staff. One element of constructive criticism would be that compared to the younger rooms getting a sense of how he is developing is more difficult. During school holidays it appears that the staffing pool isn't quite the same and it can get very busy which can be overwhelming for a more nervous child. Overall, we are pleased with our son's progression.
